Izzat in 1 Amanah 2008
Izzat's placement test was out yesterday.... Alhamdulillah, Izzat was placed in 1 Amanah (2nd class). I scanned his classmates names and glad to see some familiar names like - Tisha and Izuddin (Izzat's friends at TEB). This is just the beginning.... he has a long way to go. The placement is only based on the placement test and doesn't mean those in the 3rd class and below are not clever. I guess I have to struggle a bit in 2008 to monitor both kids in school and kumon. This is quite challenging.... esp for a working mom like me.... but I will try my best... I intend to! InsyaAllah.

Mommy's little boy going to school at the age of 6
Sent Izzat to school yesterday... his first day in BIG school.. !! He looked soooo adorable in his school uniform... we had to mend his pants to suit him since he is too 'cute' :)
He was assigned to the 3rd class for the placement test. Some familiar faces were in the same class such as Miza Batrisha (Izzat's old sweet heart (??)) and Izzuddin. When I asked how he did in the test... he said he got 1 wrong.... he spelled 'teko' with a "c" - teco!... hahaha!
Anyway, turned out his school is the morning session - meaning he will have to survive alone since kak long is attending the evening session. That make me worried a bit... since I have not yet teach him how to spend his money. Hmm... my little boy going to school at 6 years old.... *sigh!*.

Bibik back to Indon
There is a major production problem today (Log point problem - caused by operations - NOT by the programmers!!). Unfortunately it happened TODAY - when Tda, June and Da are on leaves - of all days!! :( And guess who's the lucky one being chosen to do the recovery? Yeap... ME!!! :(
Bibik went back to Indon early this morning. We called taxi to send her to airport since both hubby and I can't get away from the office after our long leaves to Egypt the other weeks. My mom insisted that she can take care of the kids at our home instead of sending them away to MIL's or anywhere else. I 'brain washed' the kids so that they will behave well as Wan is not strong enough to layan their karenah! The deal is... if they do not behave or asyik bergaduh je... one of them will be send to Nenek's house. Suprisingly, they do not want to be separated.. especially Izzaty. We'll see how it goes...

A memorable Egypt trip
We left for Egypt on 25th Nov 2007 (Transit at Bahrain one night). There are soooo many interesting places to visit in Egypt!! I especially love the pyramids and the Abu Simbel Temple. From Cairo, we took a train to Luxor. And from Luxor, we cruised the Nile River to Aswan.... quite an interesting experience :) The cruise crews made a surprise birthday party for hubby... which made the trip even more memorable! Our local tour guide, Mohammed is quite a nice man (and handsome too *wink!* ). Mohammed made the Egyptian history even more interesting :) Did not get the chance do much shopping during this tour since the package itinerary was quite packed but still I got the chance to meet my ex-classmate at TKC, Nolong on my first night in Cairo.:) Nolong is currently staying in Cairo with her Swedish husband and 3 children. She came to my hotel with her lovely youngest daughter, Hanna (such a cute little girl!). I emailed Nolong to tell her that I was coming to Cairo, so she ordered some things from Malaysia which she could not find in Egypt - things like herbs - serai, daun kari, daun limau purut, ect, a bottle of tauchu, serbuk kari, serbuk kurma, ect, ect.... hahahaa! Banyak jugak lah :D It was fun meeting her again... and cute Little Hanna, of course :)
In short... I had such an amazing time in Egypt!!! :)

Pyramid at Giza, Cairo.... such a wonderful feeling to see those pyramids... SubhanaAllah.
At Fort Qaitbey, Alexandria... such a beautiful city!! I like! :)
At the Hatshepsut Temple - Luxor. Our tourist guide pronounced it 'hot-chicken-soup' temple :)
Unfinished Obelisk...
Everyone at Abu Simbel.... another amazing structure!

Counting days to our tour to EGYPT
This weekend.... hubby and I are off to Egypt.. yeay!! This is our 10th anniversary trip! We'll also be celebrating hubby's b'day in Egypt. The bad news is.... the kids won't be joining us... so I'm gonna miss them terribly :( But I guess it's nice to have a break away from the kids once in a while.
I'll be meeting an old class-mate in Cairo. Nolong and her family have just moved to Egypt and in the process of settling down. Hope we'll be able to meet... since our tour schedule is quite tight...
P/S What happened to our Moscow trip? Err... the agent called said the trip had to be cancelled due to 'tak cukup korum'! :) Never mind... Egypt was my 1st choice anyway! :) Moscow was hubby's first choice... dia la yg frust.. hehe.

Tisya and Maira's party
Izzat was invited to Tisya and Maira's birthday party at Bukit Beruntung Golf Club's pool area today. So I sent both my kids to the party and stayed to see how they behave during the party. Somehow, and old friend, Lily was also there (apparently, Tisya and Maira's aunty is Lily's best friend!). So we had a long chat and talked about old times and old friends.... (she used to work with Nik.. and did not even know that Nik was our IRC's old friend 'Boje'! *LOL!* What a small world!! She lost contact with Ron and did not know that Ron's is performing Hajj this year!) The kids had great fun! Partying, playing, getting presents and party packs, swimming, ect... The party's song theme was the High School Musical's 'WHAT TIME IS IT? IT'S SUMMER TIME'. In our case... 'IT'S SCHOOL HOLIDAY TIME! :)

Izzaty's penyampaian hadiah 2007
What an eventful week! Hubby went to Japan from Saturday and just came back yesterday evening. I was left to attend Izzaty's Hari Penyampai Hadiah for both KAFA (on Tuesday night) and SKBB (Wednesday morning). She got 3rd place in the whole Year 2 classes in both KAFA and SKBB. Syameel (Dr Aniza and Sham's son) got 1st in KAFA and 3rd in SKBB. I also saw some familiar names in the school booklet... they did very well in the final! Good for them! I also just found out that my neighbour.. who is also an x-umkcian is the PIBG president at the KAFA. And his son won some of the awards at both schools.
As for Izzat, he got 7th in his class. But I've checked all his papers... and surprisingly he did quite well! He got 100% in English, BM and Science, 96% in both Jawi and Maths (careless mistakes! sheesh!). I thought that was good... considering he's just 5 yrs old and the rest are all 6.
The school session of 2007 ends today... and I still have not think of any school holiday program for the kids... *sigh!*. They did quite well in the final.... they deserve a nice break!

Izzat's TEB Graduation
Yesterday was quite an event! Izzaty got her sekolah kebangsaan report card and ended up 3rd place in class... I was a bit upset with the result... but I guess we have ups and downs in our life... afterall she's still a kids.... can't preasure her too much! She was also upset... but only for a while... (haha.. typical of her!).
MIL and FIL came to our place on Friday night... the same day of Izzat's graduation / concert. It was fun watching the kids in action. He was selected to do storytelling... quite impressive I guess... considering how shy and anti-social he is in person :) Izzat looked so cute in his graduation gown... very handsome indeed :) He got 7th place in class (he got 8th in last sem exam.. so I guess ada improvement laaa.... a bit! hehe...). I pray that both my kids will be anak2 yg beriman... and soleh/solehah. Thank you Allah.... for such giving me wonderful children.. :)

Izzaty's first ASHR ceremony at Berjaya Times Square
"Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand. And what you've been out there searching for forever is in your hands. And when you figure out love is all that matters after all, it sure makes everything else seems so small" - Carrie Underwood.
I found this song very touching... the lyrics are so meaningful.
Went to Izzaty's Kumon ASHR Ceremony on Sunday 28th Oct at Berjaya Times Square. Alhamdulillah... I am so proud of her... and thankful to Allah... for every single thing that we've been blessed with. Ms Jaya said if Izzat maintained his performance.... he'll be eligible to attend the ASHR ceremony next year. I sure hope he'll do well..... Aamin.

Exam Fever - the kids ?? Or their mom???
This week, both kids are facing their final exam. It's nearly end of school season.... and we already have activites scheduled on each weekends till the school end. Izzaty's ASHR Ceremony, Izzat's TEB concert, Hari Kantin SKBB, Kumon parents meeting, ect. The good news is... right after the school season ended... we're off to Moscow.. Just the 2 of us.. InsyaAllah.
I had a great time so far staying at home on leasure... while guiding the kids preparing for their final exam. (If the kids are home, then I'll be pretty busy giving orders and guiding them to study... but when they are in school.... boy, it's heaven! :)) And I'm enjoying every minute of it :)

Counting days to ASHR Ceremony
Today, someone got an invitation to a very special event in Berjaya Times Square!! Yes... It's Izzaty's big day - her first KUMON ASHR ceremony. She's pretty excited about it and proudly present me her tag :

Izzat got irritated coz he was not invited :) He was in pretty bad mood.. that boy! :) Last night I talked to hubby via webcam (he's in Japan now). Since Izzat was in bad mood... he refused to talk to his daddy. Both kids were suppose to do some revision this week (it's final exam week!!) but since they have kumon class last night... thought I'd let them rest... they did some revision before anyway... Tawakal je lah... Hopefully both of them will do very2 well... Aamin.

NAG5697 - the unexpected meeting
Raya was all right.. but I had to back to work on 4th of Syawal... and THAT is NOT all right! In fact, it spoilt my raya mood... TOTALLY! What made it even worst was the fact that my immediate boss was also back to work on the very same day... and basically there was no one else in our section except just the 2 of us... and THAT to me is a toture!! :( There was nothing much to do in the first 3 days of work.. so on 5th Syawal (that was the 2nd day I worked after the raya break)... I sneaked out to go raya to some relatives' houses. And guess what?! We were stopping at the DBP traffic light when I noticed there was an "UMKC" sticker on the back windscreen of the car right infront of us... and I excitedly informed my hubby "Look!! Kereta tu ada UMKC sticker lah!" Wondering who the owner of the car is.. I quickly scanned the car's plate number and realised it was NAG5697!! My first car!!! That was my old AURA CHARADE!! My first love!!! hahahaha... Never expect to see that car again.... after all these years! It looked so old now... but still powerful on the road (speeding quite fast leaving us behind after the traffic light turned green.. I tell you!!). But I managed to snapp some pics of the car...

Hubby's leaving for Japan tonight (another fact that made my mood even spoilt!). Izzaty's facing her final exam next week... and to tell you the truth... she's pretty calm about it... but me... her mom... is getting nervous!! I do hope she will get a very good result and manage to maintain getting the first place in the whole Year 2 classes. I have been trying to urge her to study... but the raya mood is still on... so it's quite difficult to switch the mood to something ... which I guess is not so exciting.. *sigh!*. But I pray to Allah... and hope she will do her best.. and get the best result again.... Aamin. I'll worry about Izzat once I got his exam schedule.. (another headache!). Meanwhile... I already got headache now - I got bisul near my left eyes you know... is it a sign of old age? Or is it stress??. Aiyoyo.... stressful lah life nowadays...

Back to work on 4th Syawal...

I'm back to work on 4th of Syawal. As usual, I have to 'berkorban'.. give chance lah to my colleages to balik kampung (yang jauh2) and have fun for raya. I brought Izzaty to my office today so that I could coach her to do some revision for the final exam. If I were to leave her at home, I am sure she would be lepaking with the neighbours' kids and will not even touch her books.
Not many people are in the office today... just me (and izzaty of course), zainal (urgh!), jamil, fong and acong@azri. The rest are probably still sleeping now at their hometown... *sigh!*.
The fact that I'm taking 4 days off next week helps to cheer me up! :)

Eid Fitri celebration - 2007
Went back to hubby's kampung in Kampung Sempang, Malacca on the last day of Ramadhan. On the way we stopped by at Jasin's wet market to buy chicken (to make my favourite rendang hijau) and santan (one of the ingredients for the rendang hijau). Had to queue for at least 20 minutes to buy the santan! Anyway, the rendang turned out okay... except not as spicy I wanted it to be... and in the evening, we decided to go to Malacca town to buy Izzaty a new bracelet... she got a nice one... cost us around RM700 if I'm not mistaken... she loves it! :)
1st Syawal was celebrated in the usual way. Went for Eid Fitri's prayer... then salam-salaman and maaf-maafan within the family (Hamzah and family reached Malacca at around 3am!). Then later we went to Mak Nyah's house, Nek Chik's house and Pak Mat's house.. (the usual houses). By the time we reached home, MakSu and family from Seremban are already waiting for us... and ayah's nasi beryani was ready.... yess!! makan time again!! :) After that... nothing much... eat, eat and eat again. We also received some kids visitors who just 'dropped by' for some 'duit raya'... 2 of them happened to be Izzaty's schoolmate from SKBB... wahhh... sekampung rupanya! What a small world! :)
2nd Syawal... back to Bkt Beruntung.... and on the way we dropped by in Seremban at Mak Su's house and in Kepong to visit my PakLong Denan and the adorable MakLong Ani. Met Pak Itam and wife.. and also Diana and husband... and also their 4 months old baby - Ilhan Mikael... so cute!
3rd Syawal... went to Angah's house in Subang to beraya and to fetch mak. Later, both family went to Achik's house in Cheras.. and then to Pak Itam's house.
4th Syawal (that is tomorrow)... back to work!!! :(

Dreaming of RH122
2 more days (after today lah)!! Everyone has catched the raya mood.... :) The girls go shopping every single day! Well, the bonus is out... so we have lotssss of money to spend :) The watch that I bought in Venice last year went kaput... so I need a new watch (or is this just an excuse to buy a new watch?? hehe). So yesterday I bought an "ELLE PARIS" watch for RM260 (after 30% discount).. it's simple, very cute and yet elegant in its own way.. I like it so much :) Today, I bought a few triumph panties and bras (for raya?? hehe).
Hubby is trying to book a Perlis' car plate number 'RH122'. Hmm... IF we get that number.... I am dreaming to buy a toyota wish... or may be a toyota avanza... *wink*... macam orang kaya laaa... hahaha!!

Pre Raya mood... :)
Went to post office to post zamri's kuih raya and some 'instant' paste. It cost me RM134.10 for a normal package delivery by air. I can't imagine what it would have cost if I chose to use 'Post Laju'!
All kuih raya and baju raya are ready... yeay! 4 more days before hari raya and I am now getting the raya mood... finally!! For the past few weeks, I just listened and watched everyone around me excitedly talking about Raya break but somehow I did not feel excited or felt anything at all. It's probably due to the fact that all raya preparation was done earlier... even before the fasting months. So while others busy shopping preparing for raya excitedly... I just watched and kept quiet. Bonus is out... yeay! It's 4 months this year.... one year extra from the previous years.. alhamdulillah. Do not plan to spend the money on anything... need to save it for our next trips... to Russia this coming Nov... and hopefully to Europe next spring, insyaAllah.
Along and family came for break fasting yesterday evening... the kids had fun playing bunga api with their cousins.
OPsss.... 5:15pm.. time to go!!!

Izzat berpuasa this Ramadhan :)
Izzat can actually fast - I mean really fast like us!! :) I was quite impressed he can resist the 'susu' temptation :) But you should see how he eat during break-fasting!!! He can eat the whole plate of rice and later continue with one whole burger!! And the next morning for sahur... he actually ate another burger... can you imagine?? Hmmm... that's my little boy... my darling Izzat :)
Happy 10th anniversary!!
It's our 10th anniversary last 20th Sept!! Usually, we would plan to go somewhere to celebrate our anniversary but this year, since it falls in Ramadhan we had to postpone the trip to November (yes, we are going to Moscow, insyaAllah!). We do not want to go somewhere after breaking fast coz we would not want to miss our Terawih Prayer. We can have our special dinner anytime after Ramadhan.. but Terawih Prayer can only be done in Ramadhan. We wouldn't want to miss that one.
Since nothing special were planned, I thought I'd surprise hubby by leaving a love card in his notebook case.... :) But I got a bigger surprise when a nice bouquet of tulips was delivered to me - from darling hubby of course!! This is the FIRST time I've ever got a bouquet of flower after I got married and it felt greattt!!! *grin* :) Thanks hubby... I love you soooo much! :)
When I SMSed to thank him... he said, may be next year we'll be lucky enough to go to Amsterdam and visit Kuekenhof Tulips Garden..... COOLLL :)

Zamri leaving for New Castle
Last Saturday we had a gathering to break fast at my home.... Almost everybody came (except for Along & family and Na & family). It was really fun having everyone at my home.... there were lotsss of food!!! 3 cakes (happy birthday Mak and Aiman!!!).. and the most 'laku' one was my punch drink :)
Today, Zamri left for New Castle.... quite sad to see him go *sob*. His gf Nana was there... (nice girl! I hope it's gonna be a happy ending between these two youngsters). I paid RM70 for ERL ticket to go to the airport from my office.... (coz I don't want to take EL). Between the bunch of us who were at the airport to send Zamry off... I guess Nana cried more... :) Hehe... young lovers! :) MIL looked sad... but she is one strong lady... (love you mom!). FIL looked cool... as always.
Raya this year is definately gonna be different as the youngest brother will not be around *sob*. My wish is... we can go and visit Zamri next spring.... Hubby wants to go Amsterdam to see the beautiful tulips in spring... he mentioned about bringing MIL along... but I really hope the kids can tagg along too..... it won't be much fun without them.... Hope we can make it for this trip!!!

Izzat belajar puasa
I just called home and bibik told me Izzat cried just now... probably hungry or thirsty. So bibik gave him a bottle of milk... and he promised to continue fasting after finishing his milk! Kids!! :D
Happy Ramadhan!!
It's 1st day of Ramadhan, and I am quite excited about it. Promised myself to be a better muslimah this holy month... insyaAllah. I could not join hubby and mom to the mosque for Terawih prayer as I need to monitor the kids... so that they are doing their homework and a bit of preparation for the coming final exam.
Today is also the 9th year anniversary of my dad 'meninggal dunia'. Tonight, insyaAllah I'll spend some time reciting Yaasin for him, InsyaAllah. Sometimes I wonder how my life would be if Ayah was still around... *sigh!*. But I know... Allah knows the best.... so I guess... life must go on. And we as anak soleh and solehah must dua for him.... semoga roh arwah di cucuri rahmat.... Aamin.
Both of my kids also start fasting today.... or least as at now, they are both still fasting :) I told Izzat to go to sleep if he feel tired or hungry... and he innocently told bibik "Izzat nak tidur je nanti" :) Hmm... kids... they are so adorable... wish I can have some more... but my other half said 2 is enough... hmm, ye ke???

Bangkok & Bandung Trip
Boy! It's been a long time since I last contribute anything in this blog!! So many things happened for the past few months. Hmm... where should I start first??
Hmmm...Where have I been for the past few month? That's an intersting topic! I went to Bangkok in June with Hubby and Zamri, my youngest bro in law. It was fun!! We had a great time shopping! I bought a few thai silk for myself and a few shirts for the kids.... I had a greattttt time in Bangkok and I especially love the Floating Market.
In August... on my b'day to be exact!!.... we went to Bandung.. the whole bunch of us - the kids, my mother, my mom in law and my maid also tagged along! :) That was another shopping spree trip!! We had a greaaaaaatttt time shopping!! BIG TIME!!! :) So now the kids have their baju raya and kasut raya ready!! All imported from Bandung :)
Rumah Mode - best place to shop! Variety of branded things to buy! The place where I spent most of my $$$ ;P
Shopping for Indonesian batiks and telekong at Pasar Baru. Boy.. another place where I spent a lot of $$$ :P
Lots and variety of kerepek sold at Pasar Baru
Pak Chi Met Restaurant which is located in front of our hotel, Sukajadi Hotel. Sedap banget makanan nya! ;)
Education wise... the kids are doing quite well. In the mid year exam, Izzaty managed to maintain 1st position in class, whilst Izzat got 8th in class. Izzaty also managed to upgrade herself to be a GOLD student in Kumon whilst Izzat is now suprisingly doing quite well as SILVER student.
I had difficulties to decide wheater to register Izzat in Year 1 primary school next year. But finally, I decided to close all ears and determined to register him. I have also registered Izzat to do English in Kumon.
Last weekend, hubby and I went to Matta Fair.... and booked ourselves a package to Russia... wow, I still can't believe that I'm going to Russia this coming November! What am I going to wear?? It's bloody cold over there in November!!! Anyway, for now I think I'd like to focus on the kids first.... their final exams are approching... Ya Allah, please guide me... I really hope the kids would do well in this coming final exams.

Cahaya Kasih Feb 2007
Our department was given the honor to organize an activity for Maybank Cahaya Kasih program at Rumah Kanak2 Tengku Budriah in Cheras. The place is not very far from MIL's house.. so I excitedly gave my name as a volenteer for this program. I woke up early just like my usual work day but left the house earlier in order to be at the children's home by 8am. About 100+ maybankers volenteered for the program this week and alhamdulillah... everything went quite smoothly. There were lots of exciting activities on that day but I spent most of the time taking care of 2yearsold Farah Saujana. She is so cute and adorable but once I took her out from her babycot... I was not able to put her back in the cot as she would cry heartily that I felt pity and took her back. Have not been carrying babies for quite sometimes and after half day of carrying Farah here and there... I felt a slight pain on my right arm by noon. The only place I can let Farah go was at the Babies' play center... I also spent a few minutes taking care of other babies like Ali Mamak and a few others which I could not remember their names. But somehow, Farah had caught my heart most. By end of the day, someone else took over Farah from me (which was a relieve... coz I was dead tired by then.. and my arms were already in severe pain... haha no joke!). I helped the others clearing up the dining hall at end of the day... but by 5:30pm I was so tired that I excused myself and went back to MIL's house to have a nice rest. Izzaty was with me in the morning... but by noon, she was already dead bored.. so hubby came over and fetched her for a Kong Hee Fatt Choy party at Sara and Adam's Kong2 place.
Izzat has upgrade himself to level A in Kumon class! I am so proud of him!! :) Thank you again Allah for such a wonderful gift!! Hope Izzaty would be able to master level D and go to level E very soon. I am hoping (and praying) that she will get the GOLD level by end of this June... Aamin.

Back to work... BOOOORINGG! :(
CNY hols was so boring! The NKVE traffic was so bad that we did not dare to get out from Bukit Beruntung! :P
I'm back to the office today.... first day in the office after the hols and my immediate boss is already getting on my nerve! It's quite irritating to have a boss who does not trust you to do programming on our own... and want to 'amend' my program.. so that it would be like 'the way he wants it to be'. My previous boss was not like this... at least he trust me enough to do everything on my own... doesn't matter how I do it... as long as the output is as what he want. Eiii.. boringnya!!

Happy 2007!!
Wow... it's been ages since I last blogged!! :) The kids had a grrreeeaattt time in Tokyo Disneyland last holiday and they are now settling nicely in their new classes at school. Izzat is now in Best 6 blue in TEB... he can't wait to get into a 'real' school next year! But I'm a bitt worried as I am not sure he'll be 100% ready for 'real' school. Izzaty is adjusting nicely in her new class - 2 Cekal at SKBB. A few weeks ago, the school called parents for 'Cleaning & Decorating Classroom' project. Sadly only 5 parents came out for +-80 students of both classes (2 Cekal & 5 Cekal are sharing the same classroom). But the 5 parents managed to paint the class and clean it nicely. Thanks for both teachers - Cikgu Siti(s) - both teachers' name starts with Siti for their patient and cooperation during the project... not to forget other parents who came - Dr Anuar (Elina's dad), Eusoff's mom (sorry kak... can't remember your name), Adam's dad (did not get his name), one brother who was the only represented 5 Cekal's parents (can't remember his name or his daughter/son's name). We managed to make the class looks quite nice and comfy :)
Izzat is about 2 pages away from finishing Cahayaku English Paradigm program. Heard Afiqah's parents took away their daughter from that school... probably Afiqah would be joining her sister at IIS Kota Damansara... better school of course... wish I could send my kids there...
I am also having a hard time convincing Izzat to focus more on her Kumon worksheets. He got better nowadays.. but there are times when he really blew it and made me so frustrated. I can only doa more to Allah..... hope HE can give me more strength to train my kids to be a better muslim and muslimah... kids who loves ilmiah... loves reading and books.... and may they grow up to be excellent muslim & muslimah... Aamin.
