Jalan Raya @ Bkt Bintang

We planned to go 'jalan raya' on Saturday. My parents in law came to our place on Friday night. So we planned to go visit my mom at my youngest sister house in Selayang and later my parents in law would go other places and went straight to Cheras (their old home) whilst we wanted to go to Sg Buloh to visit my aunt. But then, my hubby suggested we go to Bkt Bintang to find a digital photo frame... (we thought to buy the digital frame nak buat kenangan for our 12th anniversary :) ) And the kids wanted to watch the latest Disney picture - the G Force! So after visiting my mom and said good bye to my mom and parents in law... we went straight to Berjaya Times Square in Bukit Bintang. We enjoyed the movie.... quite nice actually! :)
Movie time!! At GSC Berjaya Times Square! :)

Later, we went to Low Yat Plaza to find a digital photo frame! Wah... quite expensive ya! Lots of choices also... some are quite cheap... but very, very lousy quality pics! I especially like the ones from SONY, iSmart (Singapore brand?), Samsung and Kodak.

Hubby busy looking at all the digital photo frames available at this small shop... the kids dah start boring tu.. :)

But after merayap beberapa floors kat Low Yat tu.. and the kids pun dah keletihan and complaining that they were hungry... we decided to have lunch first.

Hubby chose to eat 'Japanese' today.. sebab tempat lain tu jual Malaysian food that he thought with unreasonable price! Shikiya Restaurant surprisingly offers very reasonable price! :)

Bibik's menu... chicken chop with rice.

Izzaty's and Izzat's menu - Chicken Chop (no rice!)

My menu - Udon meeHubby chose this menu.... shushi something... tak ingat makcik nama menu dia! :P

After lunch.... sambung balik our mission to find a digital photo frame yang berjaya memikat hati (nice photo quality with reasonable price la of course!). We ended up at a shop called "HUB" (I think!)... it's a bigger shop... and the price are displayed on all items... senang dan aman sket nak shopping (tak crowded sangat!). Choices pun boleh tahan.. with quite a good price... I like! And we ended up chosing a TOSHIBA brand... quality gambar cantik - high resolution (800 x 600), 8 inch LCD screen.. and the price very, very reasonable! Kira all our prerequisites dipenuhi la gitu! :) Lucky for us... ada tinggal satu je lagi stock available (other than the display stock!). Wah... terus grab je lah.. apa lagi!! :)

This young Chinese man tengah mempromosi and explaining the Toshiba digital photo frame.

Right after we paid for this last item... an Arab man who just bought (and paid!) a digital photo frame from a brand called 'Genius' came to us and saw the Toshiba brand... asked the Chinese lady "Can I change to this brand? This one is nicer!"... penat la the lady explained 'no more stock available'... tapi dia dah berkenan sangat2 Toshiba tu... siap nak beli yang display stock tu! hehe... nasib baik we all dapat dulu... rezeki kami lah tu... alhamdulillah :)

So last night... hubby pun mengupload pictures into the new photo frames.... thousands of pics can be kept!, boleh pasang music lagi!, and videos! And voila!!! Pagi ni dah tersergam indah di ruang tamu rumah kami....

I likeeeeeee!!!! :))

ASHR ceremony is cancelled :(

When I reached home today, I saw these letters on the kitchen cabinet...

Alahaii.... cancel la pulak.. the kids and I had been sooo looking forward to attend this ceremony.. :( Izzaty dah siap plan nak pakai baju apa dah! huhu... never mind... of course there is hikmah behind this cancellation :)

1st Syawal... our 12th anniversary :)

Despite the absence of pre raya mood as stated in my previous post... Hari Raya was a blast! We left Bkt Beruntung as early as 4am on Saturday morning... on the last day of Ramadhan... and reached Melaka around 6am... kami disambut oleh seruan Subuh from the nearby surau :) Alhamdulillah.... selamat sampai without any traffic hassle :) But the day before that, on Friday eve on my way back from office to go home... baru nak build up my holiday mood... someone bumped into my car's bumper from behind... shessh! Bumper ku agak lari sket alignmentnya... tapi takpe.. janji boleh guna that car to balik kampung... huhu.

On Saturday.... seharian rasanya dok kat dapur menolong my MIL preparing for the last juadah buka puasa for this Ramadhan and not to forget preparing for Raya dishes like rendang hitam (my FIL's signature dish!), rendang hijau (my signature dish.. hehe!), ketupat, lauk kupang pun ada... pendek kata meriah la menu petang tu!!

Sunday was 1st Syawal 1430H, 20092009 - nice date! Also happened to be our 12th anniversary... woohoo! :) Semoga perkahwinan ini diberkati Allah dan semoga bahagia hingga ke akhir hayat.... Amiin ;)

Acara salam-salaman selepas solat raya mmg activity wajib every year! :) Atuk bagi duit raya.. yeay yeay! :)

Remembering my childhood Hari Raya...

It's 28th of Ramadhan... 2 more days before Syawal! Alhamdulillah... we had such a wonderful and meaningful Ramadhan this year!! But somehow, I wonder where has the mood and the pre-festive excitement that I used to have when I was younger gone?? I used to get so excited... siap menghitung hari lagi nak raya!, belek2 and counting my baju raya(s) , polishing my new raya shoes and so eager to meet cousins and other family members whom I seldom met! Nowadays... dah tak sama lah... :( The new generation kids seemed to take things for granted... even my kids are not THAT enthusiastic as I used to be!! :P

I remember once upon a time..... raya means getting new clothes and new shoes... but nowadays kids get new clothes and shoes any time they want! :P

I remember once upon a time.... family members (cousins, uncles, aunties and all sepupu sepapat lah!) would gather and make dodol together (kena paksa dera by my so-dominant late grandma... LOL!).... and I remember very well how my dad complained kepenatan... those who knows how to make dodol would understand what I mean.... nak mengacau dodol tu agak mencabar babe... needs lots of energy! And in the end... there was just tiny potion of dodol left for us... the rest were divided and send to other family members, neighbours and close friends (walau pun diorang tak tolong kacau dodol! :P). Nowadays, jarang kedengaran activiti2 sebegini happening... *sigh!*

I remember once upon a timeu..... the day before raya, all the family members would come balik kampung and gather at my late grandma's house... together we would prepare lemang and ketupat, cooked chicken and meat rendang, ect. I was quite small then... tension je terbau makanan yang enak2 being prepared in the kitchen... huhu! And the night before raya... we all berbuka puasa beramai2.. and later solat jemaah and berdoa minta berkat (lead by my late PakNgah Jalil I think! But later when my cousin Abang Rosli dah besar... he took over that role! And is still holding that role now when we (the BIG family) gathered anywhere.). I remember seeing my mom and aunties cried when the dua was read... sayu sangat! :( and that night.... infront of my grandma's house... dah macam pesta!!! Pelita was everywhere... and the kids (myself, siblings and cousins) had fun playing mercun, bunga api, main kejar2, ect.... punyalah meriah!!!! How I miss those moment... *sigh!* Nowadays... most modern families prefer lampu lip-lap! :P Mana saamaaaa..... it kills the festive atmosphere! :(

I remember once upon a time..... getting the raya greeting cards throughout the Ramadhan month!! Tiap2 hari tunggu postman depan rumah.. LOL! How I missed getting the Raya cards! I remember getting all excited receiving those beautiful colourful cards.. siap kira lagi dapat berapa each year!! and later compared with my other sisters and cousins.... who got the most raya cards!! LOL! Nowadays, I only received e-cards, and messages via email, SMS and facebook! :P But I am still thankful... ada gak orang nak wish kan.. hehe :)

Wahh... nostalgia betul raya zaman2 tu... *sigh!*. I will try to make Hari Raya as special as possible for my kids... so that one day they would reminisce over the fun they had during their childhood hari raya.... ;)

Baju raya 2009

I have been wanting to practice my beading skill ever since I attended Yati's beading class in August. But I've been so busy... so tak berkesempatan lah! :(

Anyway, when hubby's aunt (our tailor for this year baju raya... our usual tailor sakit tangat.. tak ambil tempahan :P) called to inform baju raya hubby and the kids dah siap...  I was so excited and start imagining what kind of design that I can use to sew beads on Izzaty's kurung! Haha! :)

So... after surveying the internet for simple designs... (mesti la simple... saya kan beginners... tak berani lah nak buat yang mencabar! Takut tak sempat lak siap raya karang!:P).... taraaa!!!

Neck
lengan tangan
Amacam? Okay la kan for beginnners.... :) Very simple... so sekejap je dah siap! :) Can finished in one and a half day! Woohoo! Berkobar tunggu next project... :)

What have I done this Ramadhan?

It's already halfway thru Ramadhan 1430H... how fast time flies!! Alhamdulillah the kids are stronger each day melaksanakan ibadah puasa... :) It's UPSR week... their classes are being used for the big exam... hence, they are now at home... on holiday!! Jealous betul mama tenguk!!

What have I done this Ramadhan? Aduhai... am not so sure how to answer that. Shame to say I have not done much... :( I've been so occupied with duniawi.... forgive me Ya Allah.... :( After one week of 'official break' from fasting.... I've been attacked by the 'LAZY' virus!! :P Tapi takpe... ada masa lagi.. insyaAllah!! May Allah grant me the strength, patience, perseverance, commitment and determination to multiply my efforts to find the night of Lailatul Qadar.... and may He make it easy for me and my family, Aamin!!
