Viva Mexico City!

 Hola Mexico City! :)

The capital city of Mexico and super crowded! We were here for just one day before flying back to Peru and continuing with our original Itinerary (last minute plan to cancel Bolivia and Ecuador in our Itinerary and replaced it with Mexico).

Reached Mexico City early in the morning.... traffic was super bad!! We had to get out of our taxi a few blocks away from our hotel... Tariklah bags berat tu sampai hotel.... huhu! We got ourselves checked in at the hotel - Ibis Mexico Alameda Hotel (luckily they allowed us to check in early). After getting refreshed, we went out to hunt for halal breakfast. Hubby googled and found a vegan restaurant nearby called VEGAMO (well not really near... but a walking distance away laa... jauh jugak lah berajalan tapi Lol!).

They have limited menu for breakfast... ordered 2 types of dishes and a cup of mate tea and a bottle of mineral water.
Mate Tea katanya.... comel pulak si dugong yang ada tea leaves dlm perut ni :D
Excuse me?? Where can I buy this?? :D

and look at the food we ordered! Nampak sedapkan? Yum yum...
But the reality...
And I thought all Mexican food are spicy... both dishes on a manis side... tapi satu lagi tu boleh lagi diterima... the other one tu siap ada chocolate in the dish...
Esey orang Pilah wok.... tak kono mo tokak sey bekfes bondo manih do :D

After breakfast, tak ada arah tujuan... since Mexico City was included in our itinerary at the very last minute, frankly...we did not study much on this city...
Makanya... kita jalan2 je lah - follow the map provided by the hotel... belasahhhh.... :D
Electric vehicles anyone?

Placio de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts) - cultural center of Mexico City.

Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral
Lots of people chilling here... there is this huge Mexican flag located at a big 'dataran' in front of the Metropolitan Cathedral. Ala2 Dataran Merdeka kita la kan... :D

This town is super crowded... sis fening and frankly, my feet were throbbing like mad... merayu dah kesakitan... probably due to jalan non stop this whole journey.
Tapi digagahkan juga berjalan...

Found a place macam pasar siang or something... lots of people selling things on the street... TERberkenan pulak bag ciplak Nike satu ni - konon nak bawak pi kelas Exposed kat Gym Maybank :D
Makanya... TERbeli lah satu bag... lol!
That's the bag I bought. Nike brand okay... but unfortunately not authentic... Lol!

Random photos in Mexico City at random places in the town...

Balik hotel...  pancit terus...  so I did not follow Mr Hubby to tapau for our dinner. As you all might already know, Mexico City is not really a safe city to walk on your own in the dark. I was a bit skeptical to let Mr Hubby walked alone... but he said he would walk real fast and make it quick... anyway, we need to eat dinner jugak kan... so tawakal je lah.

Alhamdulillah... he managed to go to the same Vegan restaurant we went for breakfast this morning and tapaued 2 different menus... harap2 sedap lah menu yang ini...
Pad Thai for dinner...

Alhamduillah.... nasib baik sedap... licin tu hehe...
Atau pun  memang dah kepenatan and kebuluran... lol!

Next day, we left the hotel super early...

Adios Mexico City...
Hola Lima :)

Day trip to Tulum and Playa del Carmen

Today, the plan was to go to Tulum and Playa del Carmen - another 2 beautiful, famous towns in Yucatan Peninsula. This time, no tour guide or ground arrangement... all sdn bhd punya planning - using public buses haha. Baru adventure kan ;) It was an adventure indeed... dari bus stop2.. ke bus express... not to forget, lots of walking required.. huhu.

Our first destination was Tulum, where we visited Mayan ruins located on a cliff  facing the breathtakingly beautiful view of Caribbean Sea <3

If you googled info on Tulum you will find that Tulum was formerly a walled city  and was one of the last to be built by the Mayans. And as you can see form these pics, their archaeological sites are incredibly well preserved.
As you can see, the ruins, set above the beach, are immaculately preserved
The view of Caribbean Sea from up the cliff is absolutely breathtaking!!
Panaih lit lit you ouls... If yesterday I got 2 shades darker in Chichen-Itza, today I probably upgraded myself to 3 shades darker... huhuuu!

We left the ruins area by noon, jenuh juga jalan kaki to the main entrance of the road to get a bus to our next destination, Playa del Carmen...
A tips to those who wants to travel using public transports - do check the bus/train schedule before you plan your customized itinerary.

Next, to Playa del Carmen we go...

Located along the Caribbean Sea, Playa del Carmen, is the heart of the Riviera Maya, once a fishing village but now a cosmopolitan beach town famous of its beautiful beaches, parties and giant resorts.
We did not spend lots of time in Playa del Carmen (or rather we don't have much time left)... just wandering around exploring the town area.

Chilling at Parque Los Fundadores, where we watched a tranditional Mayan dance performance.
At the famous iconic statue at the entrance of the beach.

Cuci2 mata looking for souvenirs...

Another pit stop... Playa del Carmen Hard Rock Cafe :D

As usual, ramai la pulak yang mengirim... makanya bermula lah seisi photography for those selected tshirts..
I think Hubby bought this one...

My hubby borong satu tshirt kot... ke dua? hmm...
Me?? Nah... tak ada yg berkenan...
However, I bought these two items for my dear friend, Mariani who personally DM me minta tolong belikan these 2 items from HRC.
Cityshot glass

Magnet

Kesudahannya, sopping kat HRC jer during this trip... we later took a cab to the main bus station to get a bus back to Cancun.

Back in Cancun... lepas solat semua, kami keluar balik to the Cancun town.
Mission? Last minute souvenirs hunting. Today was our last night in Cancun... will be leaving this town early tomorrow morning to catch a flight to Mexico City... another city in Mexico to be explored ;)

Bought a few of this plates - comel dan murah ;)
Last picture of yours truly in Cancun, Mexico ;)

Adios Cancun. Mucha gracias! You have been amazing Amigo! ;)
