Another busy weekend

This weekend we wanted to go back to Melaka to berbuka with hubby's family. Laundries and all important house chores were done on Friday night after terawih prayer... giler penat! But ironing for one week punya uniforms/work attires.... I surrender!! Sangat tak larat!! So I decided to send to dobi... hikss! ;) First time hantar... terkezut with the price... RM1 sehelai.... hoho! Izzat's uniform jer dah 10 pasang (SK and SRA). Hubby's 5 pasang... and mine 4 pasang... pandai2 la kira ya... huhu!

Saturday was a busy day. After leaving Bukit Beruntung, we went to my Along's house in Sri Damansara to fetch my nephew Johan. He was home since Friday for a medical checkup appointment and  had to be back in his school MRSM Tun Ghaffar Baba in Jasin by Saturday. Since his Mak Lang (that's me!) wanted to go to Melaka... might as well, he follow us :) And later... to fetch my bro-in-law Zamri in Bukit Jalil LRT station who also wanted to follow us balik kampung.... wahh... one full car to Melaka.... I likeee!! ;)

But before going to Melaka.... our next destination was Seremban. To visit my princess, of course :) She wanted to berbuka with us this weekend as she was allowed for OH (outing harian)... but since we wanted to go back to Melaka.... sorry la darling... cannot lor.. :(( So nak pujuk dia... I asked her what she would like us to tapau for her for the iftar... and she requested Pizza Hut's Spaghetti Oleo. So singgah sekejap Seremban's Center Point Pizza Hut to buy Speghetti Oleo... then straight to Bukit Merbah :)

 

Izzaty was so happy to meet her Uncle Ee who has just graduated and recently came home for good from UK :) Oh by the way... congratulations Dr Zamri! Welcome home :))

 

 She was also happy to meet cousin Abang Joe :) Joe malu2 kucing pulak masuk girls school for the first time ;)

Left Bukit Merbah around 4pm+. Journey to Melaka from Seremban is around 1 hour plus. Before balik Kampung Sempang Pantai, we had to sent Johan to MRSM TGB dulu.

Last I came here was back in 1997 when I fetched my youngest sis, Dik Ma who studied here. Hmm... I think on that occasion, we had to fetch her so that she could attend my wedding ceremony in hubby's kampung... kalau tak silap lah! ;)

When I put this pic on my FB wall, ramai lak yang comment 'senyum kami serupa' and 'rupa kami hampir sama'.... heheee :) It is true.... since Johan was small, ramai yang cakap he looks like me :) I remember my arwah Awe used to say the same thing ;) Al Fatihah buat arwah Awe....
Ohhh.... btw, today is Joe's 17th birthday! Happy birthday Joe!!! Semoga menjadi anak yang soleh dunia dan akhirat. May you pass your SPM with flying colours.... straight A+ in hand, insyaAllah :D

And lastly.... our next destination... balik kampungg..... ohohoooo balik kampungggg!!! Hatiii riangggggg :)))

Alhamdulillah... most of hubby's brothers and sister were there.... except Adik Zali who had to work this weekend. Family gathering mmg seronok! :) Food was yummilicious!!! Mee Bandung, limpa masak kicap, Kupang masak sweet sour, udang and ikan fresh from laut digoreng! Thanks Mak for the wonderful home-cooked food!! :) Begitu seronok berbuka sampai lupa lak nak ambil gambar.... huhu!

Sunday was another busy day. Left Melaka around 2pm after paying a compulsory visit to  hubby's grandma's house :))  Exit Senawang toll and singgah pulak kat Restoran Arab Damsyik in Senawang to tapau nasi Arab for Izzaty (again??) Well... she requested for it, of course! (And of course, we tapau for ourselves as well! :P ) On top of that, I cooked lauk udang sweet sour at kampung especially for her. Thanks to my mother-in-law who reserved 3 large prawns in her fridge.... rezeki Izzaty lah :D Again, tak sempat ambil gambar sebab dah letih sangat. Nenek also bungkus one tupperware full of peeled rambutans for her cucu! Wahh... semestinya Izzaty gumbira! :)

Sampai TKC, the guards did not allow us to come in.... they said visiting hours are after 4pm! What the...?? The same thing happened yesterday but I managed to call the warden and she clarified that visiting hours is after 11am but outing after 4pm. Today, the same mak guard insisted that 'kami dapat arahan baru... sebab malam tadi ada beberapa pelajar yang tidak balik lepas outing". But after a few minutes of negotiation, we were allowed to come in just to drop the food to Izzaty. We were given only 5 mins! What??? Hmm... okay lor... rather than nothing :P

So we only spent 5 mins with Izzaty on Sunday... huhu! Back in Lucky Hill around 5pm. Had to go to my neighbour's house, Sharina for a bubur lambuk project. She gave me 5 packets of bubur lambuk to be distributed to nearby neighbours.... wahh... sakan lak pusing sekitar taman cari neighbor yang ada (mostly tak de kat rumah). Alhamdulillah.... dapat la sebungkus sorang bubur lambuk....

Berbuka puasa lah kami on this Sunday eve dengan nasi arab and bubur lambuk... syukur alhamdulillah..... ;)

Ramadhan reading pleasure

Surau Al Insaf Maybank does a good job by organizing 'Ceramah Dhuha' and 'Ceramah Zuhur' during the Ramadhan month for the past few years! And the ustazs giving the ceramah are not bad! I do enjoy the ceramah so far! Kudos to the committees!!

This afternoon, the ustaz giving ceramah during Zuhur (can't remember the name of the ustaz as I only attended 15 mins of the ceramah out of the 1 hour - I can only take 30mins break from my lunch if I want to go back early during this Ramadhan month and another 15 mins was used to 'tapau' juadah berbuka... hiks!) gave a very good talk about taqwa. A very good quality 15mins indeed! If only I had come earlier.... :((

As a moslem, taqwa plays an important part in our life to ensure we are making 'Islam' as 'Deen'. The best among the Muslims are the best in taqwa. The best in taqwa means the person that has the most fear of Allah. The person who is having the most fear of Allah is the person who is the most obedience to the commandments of Allah. In the obedience of Allah lies the contentment of their hearts.

Would it be nice if our pemimpin2 negara semuanya yang bertaqwa when governing the countries..... sudah pasti Malaysia ini aman damai kan?

And myself??? Despite syaitan being chained up, being an ordinary human I notice the pretty side of me still lurking out.... huhu!! Astaghfirullahalazeem.... teruknye la kan... :(( May Allah swt gives taufiq and hidayah to improve myself, and may He gives me strength and preseverance to perfrom the recommmended acts of this holy months of Ramadhan....

A good book to read this Ramadhan, insyaAllah!

Do you think I can finish reading it by end of Ramadhan? Hahaa... I doubt it...

2nd Ramadhan: Berbuka di Bukit Merbah

Yesterday eve, we were just leaving TKC ground and on our way home after sending Izzaty back to college when she called me to inform "Mama... dining hall tak bukak malam ni"... and I was like "What??? How lor budak2 tu nak buka puasa tonite??" No wonder I got email from PIBG e-group to inform the girls are to be back before 9pm after berbuka puasa!

So last minute punya plan, we went to Restoran Nasi Arab Damsyik in Senawang to tapau Nasi Arab for 8 people.... and berbuka lah kami di Bukit Merbah malam itu bersama Izzaty and her Ipomea dorm-mates :)

Alhamdulillah... walau pun berbuka dalam gelap... kenyang kami makan nasi arab with the girls on 2nd Ramadhan 1433H yang penuh bersejarah  :))

Ramai rupanya parents yang datang berbuka dengan anak2 di Bukit Merbah ni.... penuh sampai tak cukup tempat! :)

Syukur alhamdulillah.... dipanjangkan umur to meet and fast in another Ramadhan this year :) 

Niat di hati sudah tentu menjadikan Ramadhan tahun ini lebih baik dari Ramadhan yang sebelumnya, insyaAllah! :) 

Alhamdulillah, this year, on the 1st of Ramadhan, my sisters and I (with our family) got the chance to berbuka puasa together with our mom at my eldest sister house in Sri Damansara. Too bad my one and only brother could not join us :(

Thank you Along for having us :)) Sedap lauk-pauk dan kuih-muih yang disediakan!! Esp lauk rendang cili padi daging yang mak masak!! Ohh tak ketinggalan sambal sotong yang sedap ~ mak memang tau favourite lauk saya!!!  hehee... :))

Someone got new Ramadhan hair! ngeeee!!! :D

Menjelang Ramadhan...

2 more days to Ramadhan! For the first time in years, we'll be celebrating Ramadhan without bibik... huhu! Mama has to wake up early to prepare sahur for everyone... huhu!

Esok Izzaty balik... yeay! Boleh la buka puasa sama2 on first day of Ramadhan :) This year, 1st Ramadhan, insyaAllah kami akan berbuka puasa with my mom at my eldest sister's house in Sri Damansara - hopefully all my sisters and brother will be there!

Menjelang Ramadhan ni... dapat pulak berita sedih. Son of a good friend, Kak Ezy accident motor yesterday morning on his way to school.... quite bad... now coma kat Hospital Sg Buloh :( Tak boleh bayangkan perasaan kak Ezy.... dah la tu satu2 anak dia... Kak Ezy seorang ibu tunggal dan OKU. His son, Zafuan sangat2 baik budaknya! Both mom and son are pretty close to our family. Sedih sangat dengar berita ni... :((

Let's pray for Zafuan speedy recovery... and may Allah give Sis Ezy strength during this difficult time...

Ohh... I just loveeee desserts!! Bread pudding especially! Anything that is not so sweet please! But I don't like pengat2 or pulut2... boleh? Minah salleh celup betul kan? :D

When you're upset, what do you do?

When I am upset, I'll try to read the Quran... it makes me feel better and more peaceful, insyaAllah. 

Of course there's also retail therapy and EAT! :)

 Oh No! No! I am allergic to fur... and penggeli max! No pets for me, thank you!

What do you prefer to wear, black or white?

Definitely black! So that I'll look slimmer :D I look fat in white :P *tapi pakai jugak white! hehe!*

Hidup yang tidak diberkati Allah.... Nauzubillah!

Just being content and bersyukur with what I have...  

It's okay if I don't get but I want.... but I want to be happy with what I have!

tkc8387 'Splash of Green' 25th Anniversary Dinner ♥

I have not been well for the past few days. Bad, bad cough... dunno why after taking 2 types of antibiotic pun tak elok2 jugak :((

Anyway, life goes on! Sick or not... last night I had a blast with my tkc8387 girlfriends during our 25th anniversary dinner at Sheraton Hotel Kuala Lumpur!! Wahh.... was it that long?? 25 years after leaving college?? Goodness... I am old!! :P

The theme was "Splash Of Green" so we were supposed to wear something greeny. Since I was sick the whole week, I did not get the chance to find something new to glam myself on that night :(( So after rummaging my wardrobe closet, I decided to wear a pair of baju kurung that I once wore during OGA Biennial Dinner back in 2009  :)) Okay lor... the only baju yang lip-lap2 sket to glam myself for this occasion :D Hopefully takde orang perasan that it's the same baju that I wore 3 years ago... haha! And thanks god... I can still fit into that baju... LOL! :D

Most of us were here... thank you girls for taking some time off to be there! Esp to Gie Gie who flew all the way from Perth (again!) for this special occasion... and those who came all the way from Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perlis, Kedah, Penang, ect! Those who can't make it were missed!!

Food was so-so. My throat was not fit to enjoy the food :((

One of the souvenirs (oh yes... we got lots!!! alhamdulillah!) - A book that contains a compilation of stories written by the girls from our batch. 

The book was dedicated to our batch 8387. Lots of stories and precious memories that the girls share in the Lil' Gem book - I was touched reading some of the stories! Will definitely keep the book for life, insyaAllah!

There were more souvenirs in the cute green goodie bag... there was even a PlusMiles card with RM10 loaded it for us! Some jajan, magazines, ect! Love them all! Izzat even got a cute froggie toy in his goodie bag :)

 There were lucky draws too... but as always, I wasn't that lucky... huhu! :P  BUTTTTTT..... my son was!!!

Besar nya hadiah Izzat dapat!!!! :)) And I bet you can guess what's in the box? :) A rice cooker... LOL!  Congrats Izzat!! Berbaloi mama bayar ticket for Izzat :D 

I left around 11:30pm. Like a Cinderella, I need to leave early before turning myself into a pumpkin! :P No lah... I wasn't wel kan... I need my rest lah! And my 'date' pun sudah mula buat muka bosan menunggu mama dia yang tak abis2 berborak2 walau pun suara dah serak! :D

I had plan to stay overnight in KL that night. Did not feel like driving all the way home from KL to Lucky Hill late that night... so I had made arrangement and booked a room at Renascence Hotel, KL.... just a few minutes drive from Sheraton KL. Yayang got me (and a few other girls) a voucher that made me eligible to get special rate at that hotel - just RM255 nett per night - without breakfast... which is okay lah... janji murah! :P) Others staying at the hotel with the voucher rate were Zac Zain, I.Z, Ana Rahman, Tina, Fau and Saniza.

The next day, Emy and Ita came over to visit us at Renascence Hotel. They could not make it the other night... so they decided to have another 'party' at the hotel pool! Unfortunately, I did not go... :( Had to check out early as I wanted to go to Seremban to visit my daughter... huhu! Later, I saw this pic in Emy's FB wall. Huh jealous tau tak dapat join!! Nevertheless... the pic makes me smile... ♥

Ana Rahman, Emy, Ita Mazlan, I.Z, Zac Zain and Marini - I just love seeing those happy faces! ♥

Thank you girlfriends for the friendship that we have all these years!! It was so good to see you all again after 25 years!! You girls meant a lot to me!! ♥

Nasi Ayam Kunyit BSKL

This is one of my favourite dishes when I feel like eating spicy food on a working day! :)) The gerai is located at Bursa Saham Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) food court, which is right behind Menara Maybank... very convenient! :)

Nasi kukus with ayam goreng kunyit... plus kicap and sambal belacan that is soooooo superrrrr pedas!!! Perghh... terangkat!!! :)) Err.... and fat people like me would add telur goreng mata kerbau some more!! hiksss!! Over kan?? :)  Awesomeness!!!! Tak terkata!! Wa cakap lu!!!

A simple (yet complicated) request...

Hubby has been busy lately... going outstation, coming home late, ect.

So almost every evening, yours truly are home with my prince, Izzat :) That is if he has no tuition class... otherwise, I am home alone -_-. So the boring :P

The house seemed so quiet lately -  too quiet in fact! :( Then one day Izzat asked me, "Mama, tak boleh ke mama ada anak lagi satu? Izzat nak adik lah!". Errkk....

Mama jawab "Mama pun nak! Kita ambil adik angkat  nak??"

Izzat said "Tak nak lah! Izzat nak adik kandung!"

Ewahh.... pandai pulak dia jawab!! ;)) Mama has no answer to that... -_-.
