Doraemon Pinata is finally completed!

Today... seharian tak ke mana. Bosan..! But I got the chance to finish the pinata... yeeehaaa!!! :) Aiyooo... fenat ooo!!! :P So psttttt...... do you guys really wanna see the final output of the pinata?? Errr.... emmm... boleh laa... tenguk ni...

The kids of coz are very, very teruja!! Can't wait for the party!! :)

Tomorrow, hubby has booked tickets for the 4 of us to watch 'Bedtime stories'. Am looking forward actually... coz dah kebosanan dok umah seharian today!!

I read at Finaz's facebook that her eldest daughter, Amirah dapat masuk tkc next year.. wow! And just last night, Juita called me ... she informed me that her eldest will also be going to tkc next year... that 2 of them! Makes me start thinking.... do I want Izzaty to go to tkc jugak?? If Izzaty is really interested... then I have to start active in tkc oga activities... tapi not very convincing lah my daughter sorang tu... sampai sekarang pun still sleep in our room... penakut tidur sorang!! I tell you!!! May be I can pakat with Germ lah... Nurin is sitting for UPSR next year... she might need to consider sending Nurin to tkc in 2010!! :)

Meeting an old friend - Lily Toet :)

I had a great time meeting an old friend, Lily Toet @ Nor Azida Aziz today. Lily is one of my close friend during my life in TKC years ago. I think the last time I met her was back in 1997.. before I got married. So punya la seronok catching up, gossipping, bla.. bla.. bla!! :) Lily is now based in Kuantan. Being a single mom.. I know it's not easy for her to handle everything... tapi alhamdulillah.... I think she's doing a good job on bringing up the kids!! Her kids - Karl and Aila are soooo adorable!!! :)

X'mas holiday and pinata progress

It's X'mas holiday... but hubby is working. So that's left me at home going no where and trying to do whatever that's needed to be done before the coming new year. Went to the kids school today to buy their exercise & revision books... plus others like Izzat's tie, Izzaty's track bottom (kena around RM135 jugak tu for both kids). So now all are ready to go back to school!! :) I managed to have a closer look at the list of Izzaty's and Izzat's new classmates. I noticed many pupils from 3 Amanah (the 2nd class) managed to beat the 3 Cekal kids (the first class).. hence, Izzaty will be seeing some new faces in 4 Cekal next year from previous 3 Amanah.. and of coz.. some of the 3 Cekal kids will be in 4 Amanah this year.... sure diorang upset... :(

Later went to Izzaty's friends house - Qistina and Husna - Izzaty would love to have them for her birthday party. Alaa.. buat kecil2an ajer.... invited some of her friends, neighbours' kids, family and some close friends :) Tak reti nak buat besar2an :)

Remember I wrote in my previous post that we're trying to make our own pinata? Well, our pinata project is working well.... just 50% siap. Here's some pic of the pinata in progress..
We just used : 2 balloons... (one for Doraemon's head and another one its body), old newspapers... gunting into 1 inches pieces, kanji (to act as glue)... then creape papers to decorate as final touch :)

First step, lekatkan the news paper pieces onto the balloons... see in the picture... Izzaty bersemangat buat! :) Do it layer by layer. When the previous layer dah kering... then only you can proceed to the next layer. And this continues... until you think the material is strong and thick enough lah ( I am not exactly sure how many layers I did.... probably 6 - 8 ). Tebal jugak lah coz nanti I can imagine the boys beating my pinata kuat2... kejap je rabak kalau tak kuat!! :P

When you think the pinata is thick enough... then you can pop the balloon! Since we are making a 'Doraemon'.... I have 2 parts lah... the body and the head.... and later pandai2 lah alter for the legs and hands... like this one... ( I used plastic cups for the legs and hands).

Tak siap 100% lagi coz I am yet to force hubby to drill 2 holes on the pinata... utk letak tali... so that it can be hang nicely during the birthday party. Once the hole is ready... then we can put sweets, candies, lollipos and some light toys in it... before doing the final touch and complete the 'Doraemon' :). The pinata will be hang as decorations during the beginning of the party. Towards the end of the party... then the kids will have to queue and take turn hitting the pinata hard... so that the pinata will be broken and the candies, lollipops and toys will burst out from the broken pinata!! And voila.... RUUUUUUUUUUNNNNN kidsssss!! Grab as much sweets and candies as you can!!! The more the better!! :D

English teacher??

Would you guys believe me if I tell you that... once upon a time... after finishing my diploma in ITM.. and while waiting for my JPA interview result (nak pi oversea la konon sambung belajar masa tu!).. I was a 'temporary teacher' at S K Tunku Munawir, Kuala Pilah.. and later at S K Juasseh, Kuala Pilah?? ;) It was such an experience... I tell you! And of all subjects... I was to teach English!! :D Nasib baik laaa ajar bebudak standard 2 - 4. And sekolah kampung kan... so if this so-called teacher buat silap... the kids would probably tak perasan... *grin* :D Was I a good teacher!?! The kids loved me (kes perasan lah ni... hahaha!). If I could not make it to their class on time... they would happily knocked on the teacher's room and walk with me to their class!!! :D Seronok jugak babe.... rasa cam glamour gitu.. maklum laaa.. masa tu muda remaja lagi... ajar boys school pulak tu (Err... not really la.. sekolah tu actually baru di 'convert' jadi coed school... tapi ada about 3 girls aje.. believe it or not?!)... so kira cikgu muda paling glam la gitu... ahak! :D

And petang2... siap buat tution class lagi kat rumah!! :) Among my students at home were Sari Yanti... yeap... si Khaisara tu... glamour dah now kan? ;) She's actually my 2nd cousin's daughter... so kira anak buah la gitu.

But the mostttttttttt unforgetable student I've ever had is.. Ikmal Faiz. He was very, very hard working! He was the same age with my youngest sis, DikMa... masa tu 12 years old.. getting ready for his UPSR exam. Mula2 ajar Ikmal dulu... his grammer wasn't so strong... so I started doing exercises from basics grammer with him... and in the end.... he even beat DikMa in english test.... hahaha! DikMa was sooooo bengang at that time... hehehe! But being Ikmal's 'english teacher' I was soooo proud of him... mind you!! :D And yeap... he did very well in his UPSR and later went to MCKK for his secondary educations.

Today.. to my great surprise, after all these years (I have not met Ikmal since I went to US back in 1992)... he sent a 'friend request' in FB. Terkejut sangat.... tapi terharu jugak laa.... coz he remembers me!! And he called me "My english teacher" :) Hahaha... you really made my day Ikmal... :)

Btw, he's getting married next month. Wow... dah besar panjang dah murid aku sorang ni! Eh... to think back.. dia kan sebaya DikMa... and DikMa dah ada 3 anak!! Sheesh.. DikMa mmg advance!!! :D

New boss???

Yesterday evening, kecoh satu opis... my boss had been transfered to another department at Menara Maybank... that is eGL department! Wah... everyone was talking about it! Ye lah... En Nazrin is a nice boss... very understanding... and sporting... kalau dia ke sana.. so who'll be our next boss?? That's the BIG question!! Rumours said... no one will be replacing En Nazrin but we'll be reporting direct to Ms Joreen who's the Core Banking boss.... meaning... chances is... we are all moving to Menara Maybank.... arghh!!! :P

Talked to boss late yesterday evening. He wasn't very please with this news actually! I guess he's comfortable here in Dataran.... just like the rest of us... haha! Of course lah kami akan kehilangan... but my personal opinion... En Nazrin is the BEST person to lead the eGL team!! Congratulations boss.... we'll be missing you of cozzz..... *sigh!*

Lunch with Kak Ayu

Today, I had a great time having subway sandwich at KL Sentral with an old friend... my x-senior during my UMKC life... Kak Anis Hidayu :)

She looks so slim now... jealous makcik!! Been a long time since I last met her... I think it was back in 1995 on her wedding day... so kira lah berapa tahun dah!! Kak Ayu is married to her UMKC senior jugak...which I did not get the chance to meet masa kat UMKC coz Abang Faiz had graduated by then... cuma dapat dengar cerita je lah. Dah ada 4 anak dah... how nice!! :)

It was fun reminiscing our life back in US! Update pasal kawan2 lama (or is the correct word "gossiping"... hahaha!). And of coz... at the same time I enjoyed my favourite seafood and crab Subway's sandwich... yum! yum! Ni sandwich favourite sejak kat US dulu lah! I can still remember going to Subway in Kansas City (can't remember on which road) malam2 with Zurina Kassim to get our favourite sandwich :D

I learned from Kak Ayu that Kak Nik & Abang Rahmat (with their twin) are still staying in Subway. And... OMG! The twins are now in college!! So BIG!!! Kejap aje rasanya! They were in preschool when I last met them!. So do Kak Nor and Abang Nan. Auntie Jamilah's kids are so big and succesful now.. Nor is a doctor and going to do her master in paediatrics. Ghaus (Nor's younger bro) is married and going to Oxford to do his master. Wow....!! I feel so old...... those youngsters kejap je dah besar!! Good for them!! Wish I would meet them again one day....

Bibik's back.... phew!!!

Last Friday.. I had to take leaves since no one can take care of the kids. Hubby was on a week leaves... but nama je cuti... still need to go to his kilang.... ada shutdown activity. So terpaksa lah yours truly ni bercuti sehari... to babysit the kids. Hah.. syok je cuti!! :) Somehow, the kids and I managed to pujuk hubby to go to KL in the morning... saje lah.... bosan la dok umah je!!! :P

Petang... hubby need to go to office.. so Izzaty and I decided to start on our 'pinata' project! After browsing the internet.. and some advice from the expert (ie. my sis-in-law May!)... we tried making our own pinata. First, I had to blow a balloon.... then tampal the balloon with newspaper that is cut into pieces. So far so good.... tapi tak sure lah jadik or not. May told me that it will take at least a week to make the pinata (huh?? that long??? boleh ke ni???). Lagi satu.... we are still not sure nak buat the pinata in what shape... mula2 nak buat a butterfly.. but I could not find a long shape balloon... only the ordinary round shape.... (tak jugak 100% round kan??)... soo.. still undecided!! *sigh!*. Will update you guys later on the pinata project! There lotss more to prepare for the birthday party. Izzaty is yet to design invitation cards for her friends and neighbours! I've starting thinkin on what to prepare.... food, games, 'pinata' (which is in progress), ect.

My mom came back on Saturday with DikMa... together with our lunch!! hahaha! SYok nyee.. tak yah masak on that day!! :D (thanks to DikMa and her maid, Asiah!). DikMa and her daughter, Aishah even helped us a bit on the pinata project... heheee..

Sunday.... hari yg ditunggu2... bibik balik from Indon!!! Fetched her at LCCT.... and am I glad she is back!!!! Lega sangat!!! Yeay... my life is back to normal now... hi hi hi :D Sorry la Bik.... semenjak permergian mu.... toilet2 kat dalam umah ni tak berkesempatan ku basuh.... *Grin* :D

Aidil Adha 2008

Again... this year kami berhari raya Aidil Adha without bibik. Usually, my family and hubby's family will gather at my place... tapi kali ni.... My mom decided to raya at DikMa's house... whilst my parents in law wanted to raya at our place. FIL was not very well for the past few weeks... hubby brought him to Na's clinic and later brought both in laws to our place. So they took care of our kids lah at my home while we were at work..... alhamdulillah.

Raya tahun ni.... sangat2 penat!! Really!! Imgine lah... usually.... walau pun takde bibik... at least when DikMa, Along or my other sisters came.... their bibik will help me in the kitchen.

Tapi tahun ni.... depa raya kat rumah DikMa.... uwaaa!!! And that's left me and MIL handling all the necessary preparations for the raya. Penat siut! Masak tak penat sangat.... kemas tu yg paling penat!! Rasa nak tercabut kaki makcik diri lama2 kat dapur tu!! :( But despite all that.... I had fun - gembira dalam keletihan? Is there such thing?? -_-

A day before Aidil Adha.... having steam-boat with parents in law and Kak Eina's kids

As I told you guys earlier... so many things happened lately. After the Penang trip, on Tuesday (Monday cuti kemas rumah) I had to send the kids to MIL's house again...

Punya lah rushing... pegi office first... then to clinic (yes... the kids got on-and-off fever.... still weak and kurang selera makan). By the time I reached MIL's house... it was already 10am and dlm kelam kabut tu... I accidently bumped into a bumper of a taxi.. :( Nasib baik taxi tu takde apa2... but our altis kemek jugak lah.... arghhh!! :(

And by the time sampai opis.... mood pun dah spoilt.... malas nak keja! So minta tolong a colleague , Cik Tone to temankan to our usual workshop at Kota Damansara to repair the car... punya lah jauh!! Balik naik taxi... mula2 nak go straight to office... tapi since mood dah takde.. I decided to follow Cik Tone to Petaling Street... coz I was thinking since Izzaty wanted a b'day party (ni kira hadiah dapat nombor 1 lah ni - her own request!)... might as well I start surveying stuff for the party pack (Hampir RM20 just for taxi fair! Not to forget... cost of repairing the car... after negotiate with mekanik Ah Ming... kena RM400!!). Sampai Petaling Street, asalnya Cik Tone nak pi UO kat Bas stand Klang tu je... but we ended up spending our time in this cool shop called 'Happy Planet'... wah.... sooo many cute things there!! My kids would go 'rabun mata' if they enter this shop.. I tell you!!! :D Anyway, Cik Tone and I decided to share buying things... so that we would be 'eligible' to get the retail price. Syaratnya... have to spent at least RM300 and buy things in bulk!! Wah.... byk tu? Boleh ke? Pilih punya pilih barang.... both of us ended up spending more than RM600!!! hahaha!! Punya la sakan!! We bought sticker booklet which normal price is RM2 for 60sens only!, Hanna Montana stationary sets for RM2 (normal price RM4.50), High School Musical stationary sets for RM1.50 (normal price RM2), Ben10 key chains for RM1.80 (normal price RM2), Ben10 ruler and erasers for 50sens each! And baaaanyak lagi lah!! Jenuh angkut barang balik naik taxi... *Grin* Terhibur sket lah hati yg bad mood tadi ni..... hua hua hua! :) Retail therapy, eh? An expensive therapy indeed!! :P




My kids would be jumping happily when they see what I bought today.... :) But sabarrr.... I'll keep them in suspense first lah... dah dekat party day baru bawa balik.... *grinning excitedly*

The Penang trip

Banyak benda nak cerita.... but so busy with other things... cerita pelan2 lah ya?

Firstly... I'd like to share our Penang trip experience.....

As planned, we all went to Penang. We even went to Sg Petani, Kedah to visit the person who helped us to get the "RH122" plate number... unfortunately, Pakcik Salim was not at home. Anyway, crossed the Penang Bridge with no hassle. The bridge looked old... considering how glamour it was yearssssssssssss ago! Pusing punya pusing Penang... petang baru check-in at Bayview Hotel, Batu Feringgi. We went to pasar jeruk.... (everyone tell me must buy jeruk in Penang.. so jenuh cari THE 'pasar'!), Batu Feringgi pasar malam (ni lagi satu... apparently so famous.. lots of cheap2 thing to buy.. rasa macam kat Bangkok night market aje... so many made-in-thai stuff!! And DVD cetak rompak.. so cheap!! Can sell openly meh??), and some other places lah... mostly we just ronda2 aje. The kids got so sick on 2nd day... demam pulak tiba2. Both macam tak larat aje... sampai makan pun tak lalu... poor babies! :( So end up... tak kemana sangat lah... ceh!! Nak buat camne kan.... :( We went back to Semenanjung on Sunday via ferry..... a new experience for the kids! :)

Next Monday, saya sambung cuti... just to settle things like basuh baju yg dah berhari2 berlonggok!, kemas rumah, ect. We also went to SKBB to see the kids result.... As expected, Izzat will be in 2 Amanah next year... kira okay lah tu... nasib baik masih kelas Amanah... Next year kena work harder lah nampaknya *sigh!*. The only thing that upset Izzat was the fact that Hedzry will be in 2 Cekal (1st class tu!)... hehe. Haa... tu lah.. sapa suruh malas sangat belajar kan? :)

Later, We went to Hedzry's house to send his birthday gift (his birthday party was on last Saturday but we were in Penang pulak masa tu). Izzat seperti biasa... malu2 kucing nak masuk rumah Hedzry... ceh! Then when Hedzry invited him to come in... the first thing that came out from Izzat's mouth was "Hedzry, kau dapat masuk kelas Cekal.. aku benci!!). Hahahaa.... kelakar lah Izzat ni!! Nani (Hedzry's mom) and myself tak tahan gelak besar!!! :D We lepak2 and makan roti canai (I bought from nearby mamak restaurant) and cake (Nani said she kept the cake for Izzat! hehe) with Nani and kids... thanks Nani... you're a pal! :) Lama tak buat kerja lepak2 macam tu... feel nice and so relaxing :) I really envy Nani lah... for having the guts to be a fulltime mommy!! Boleh take care of Hedzry and Haridz 24 hours.... jadi supermom!! Can I be like that???? (BIG Question mark!)

eGL project... fening! fening!

Everyone woke up early this morning! I had to send bibik and the kids to MIL's house and my mom to my auntie, Acik's house in Cheras. We left the house at 6.30am... and reached Cheras around 7.15am. Bibik's going back to Indon for 2 weeks... aiyaahhhh...!!! Fenat lah saya!!!! *sigh!*. FIL will be sending bibik to the airport this Saturday morning... insyaAllah. After sending them... I had to rush to my office first.. and later to Menara Maybank for our weekly eGL workshop. I still don't quite get this eGL basic yet.... everything is still blur.. I don't really get 100% what Mr Manesh was trying to tell for the past few weeks.... but we were told to prepare all our products' trancodes with the related DR/CR account numbers..... wahh.... boleh tahan tu!! And I have to do for HP, FS and BD!!! Uwaaaaaa!! Feninggg... feningggg!!! By the time I left Menara Maybank... rasa giddy dah... *sigh!*. Mula2 ingat nak balik straight... but since I had plan to go to Mydin to buy the kids' school stationaries for next year.... kuat kan jugak semangat.... pegii lah Mydin jugak!!! Walau pun fening tenguk orang sket punya ramai!! Alhamdulillah..... settle dah beli stationaries... cuma tinggal pencil boxes and a few others which I think the kids would prefer to choose sendiri....

The good news is.... we are going to Penang tomorrow!!!! yeayy!!! It's been ages since I last stepped my foot in Penang.... I think about 17 years kot! Coz as far as I remember... the last I went there was during my eldest sis' graduation yearsssssssssssss ago... sekarang her eldest son pun dah 16+... so paham2 je lah kan!! :) I'm really excited actually.... tak sabar nak cuti! yeehaaa!!

Dr Riza kembali ke rahmatullah... AlFatihah..

Yesterday morning... after suboh prayer.. I got an SMS from Juita stating that 'Dr Riza telah kembali ke rahamatullah.. tolong doakan, terima kasih' and I was like "huh? Dr Riza?? Bukan suami dia ke?? Biar betul!" Germ called me earlier to ask the same question.. So I called Juita and confirmed that yes.. sadly her dear husband just passed away due to heart attact.. she cried when I called her to confirm this.... sedihnye :~(

When I reached my office later, I was still thinking of Juita.... teringat2 lagi suara ceria dia a few days before when she called to inform of her 1st daughter's excellence result in UPSR. And all her invitations to her house for raya open house, kenduri kendara, ect.... all which I failed to oblige :( So when Germ called me again later... kami berpakat lah to 'ponteng' kerja and go to visit Juita in Kuala Pilah.... yeap MY hometown. Juita's in laws also happened to be my family friends. Her parents in law are my parents friends... maklum lah.... cikgu-cikgi... sekampung pulak tu... maun tak kenal! Tu yg rasa lagi bertanggung jawab to go and visit her...

So I went to Bangi first to fetch Germ (first time jejak kaki to Germ's house... after all these years!!! Sorry Germ... time macam ni baru aku dapat ke rumah kau!) and later at Seremban we fetched Zita at her office. The 3 of us were representing our tkc8387 batch... to be with Juita on this sad occasion... just to tell Juita that we are here with her.... for good and bad time!!

When we reached Kuala Pilah... bertembung dengan van jenazah at Jalan Melang. But we went to the house first.... but as expected was told Juita and other family members went to 'kubur' for the funeral. So we decided to turn back... and go to perkuburan Melang... by the time sampai sana... jenazah dah selamat dikebumikan... but were on time for the doa selamat. Met Juita there.... she hugged me and cried on my shoulder..... sedih nya.. tak sampai hati tenguk Juita macam tu... I could not help crying myself :~( It was soooo sad to see her struggling to be strong... for her kids' sake (she has 4 kids). May Allah protect her and give her strength during this difficult time.

After the funeral... we wanted to eat at my Maklong Eda's restaurant.. tapi tutup pulak. So we end up eating at KP cafe... which apparently is famous of nasi beryani (ceh.. I'm from Pilah and I am not even aware of this small cafe???!!). Later... could not resist myself to tapau 'rojak ibrahim' and pekena Pilah's bus stand's cendol with the girls. Ewah... macam girls outing la pulak kan? Lepas tu baru balik....

Maybank's Long Service Award 2008

Wah... pejam celik... pejam celik... it has been 10+ years I've been serving Maybank. Well.. actually it's more than that. I started my career with Maybank back in 1994 when I joined Mayban Finance after I came back from US after graduation. I was assigned to the accounting system team. My first job was to assist my senior to implement the MSAGL system. My boss then was Encik Hussin Abd Manan :) I guess I kinda like the work environment.... so even though I did go to some other interviews later... I did not leave my job.. I was still loyal with Mayban Finance.. huhu :)

Later in 1997, I quit Mayban Finance after I got married. Kononnya tak sanggup berulang from Bukit Beruntung to KL on daily basis... so I joined MegaTV which was an anak syarikat of TV3 back then. My post was Senior-Executive (kira amat glamour lah masa tu at my age! hehe). But I hate my job with MegaTV... boring giler! Asyik buat management job yg tersangat TAK mencabar!! Macam takde keja je rasa... compared to my busy schedule masa kat Mayban Finance! So.. I left the company after 6 months with them.. and later was offered to join Mayban Finance back by the MFB ISD Manager, Cik Raeyah Ismail. I was told that all the senior programmers/analysts doing the accounting system resigned and that they were in need of an expert (konon!!) to maintain the system. At the same time, I was also offered to work with a vendor with a better salary.. but I chose to join MFB again coz I wanted to get pregnant badly!!! Maklumlaaa... baru kawin.. mesti lah tak sabar nak ada baby! I got pregnant when I was at MegaTV... tapi takde rezeki... baby stopped growing at 2 months of my pregnancy :( So after pikir masak2... I decided to rejoin MFB... at least I was already familar with the the system, work environment, schedules, ect.... hoping tak lah stress sangat compared to kerja ngan vendor! So... in April 1998... I rejoined the Maybank Group.... of coz lah I lost my previous seniority... but takpe lah.. I did not care anymore! 2 months later... got myself pregnant.. hahaha! :D

So.... now... here I am.... dah 10 years + serving the Maybank Group!! :) Dah tukar buat system lain pun now... the Hire Purchase System... dah beberapa kali tukar bosses... but still... masih setia bersama Maybank... heheh! :) I guess I'm just comfortable here... malas dah nak jump to other company... :)

Last Saturday,I was invited to the Maybank's Long Service Award Ceremony 2008 at KL Convention Center!! It was an honour to be there. I had a great time!! Thanks Maybank... for appreciating us! chewah! :)

Kumon ASHR & Final Exam Result 2008

Wahh.... been a long time since I got the chance to update this blog!! SO many things happened for the past few weeks... I tell you! No time for blogging!! :( Err... but got time for FACEBOOKing :D

Anyway, The kids had fun during the KUMON Advance Student Honour Reward (ASHR) ceremony at Berjaya Times Square Manhantan Ballroom! :) It's Izzat's first gold... and Izzaty's 2nd (see here for her first ASHR). It was nice to see the kids dressed up formally :) Both kids looked so 'shy2 cat' on the stage when they received the gold medal :) And yess.... I could not help but feel sooooo proud of them *BIG GRIN* :D I was one of many proud parents in the hall!!! :) Thank you Allah... syukur alhamdulillah... for the lovely gift :) These are some pics from the occasion :

Training at Oracle University, Menara Citibank was not so bad!! No... it's quite refreshing... infact I loved it actually... quite a BIG different from the normal green screen of mainframe :) I got the chance to lepak and get-to-know with the GL team - Sue, Shobi, Isma, Suzy, Azizawati, Sally, Ivena, Haw, Shashi and others. It was quite fun... but the travelling was very, very tiring... phew!!! Imagine... I had to leave the house early in the morning to make sure I'd be able to catch the putra LRT by 8am (later than that and I had to join a loooooonggg queue!). Then later... balik pun rushing... coz I wanted to make last minute revision with the kids for their final exam!! The first week was quite a torture! But once the kids finished their final exam... I felt a bit better... at least some burden was off my shoulder... really!! But on the 2nd week... the torture began again... even worst!! The lecturer for our BI Oracle class was from India... so we had some difficulties to 'understand' him.... yeap, he spoke good english... tapi putar belit sket lah... When we asked question... dia putar2 belit... end up.. tak jawab pun the question.... sheesh!! Anyway... the training is OVER!! I've graduated from Oracle U... hahaha! :) Lega babe!!! :)

Hey... school of year 2008 is over!! Kids got their result. Alhamdulillah... both kids got all A's in both sekolah kebangsaan and KAFA. Izzaty managed to secure the first place in both schools... Alhamdulillah... way to go my gal!!! Mama is so proud of you!! *muahh!!* Unfortunately Izzat got 18th in sekolah kebangsaan and 23rd place in KAFA... he probably had to be in the 2nd class next year (2B in KAFA and 2 Amanah in SKBB). I guess it wasn't so bad... I just have to satisfy with that... Don't be upset okay, Izzat?! Next year... we'll try harder.. insyaAllah!! :) Tapi jangan la merajuk bila mama marah..... hehe :) He's mama's manja boy.... that's why!!! :P

Cancelling my 3 days leaves - going for 2 weeks training instead

Yeap! My boss wants me to go for that training! :( Tawakal je lah.... may be that's the best for me... insyaAllah...

So for 2 weeks... kenalah berulang le Menara Citibank, Jalan Ampang tu... uwaaaaa!!! Ni yang paaaaalingg tak larat! :P

Family Vs Career...

Hmphh!! I am really, really in dilemma :( I had nicely applied my leaves next Monday till Wednesday (and my boss has approved them.. yeap!) since the kids are having their final exam. This morning... I got a big surprise when someone (take note that this someone has nothing to do with me... NOT even my boss!!) had nominated my name to join an Oracle course in Jalan Ampang, KL!! Well, I was delighted.... infact, I felt honoured to be chosen in the beginning!! I had been wanting to learn oracle!! But when I checked the training date..... OMG!!! Clashed with my kids' final exam!! So now I am really, really in big dilemma!! I'd love to go to the training... but at the same time.. I really, really want to be home with the kids to do last minute revision for the final exam!! :(

The truth is.. . I would gladly let go of my career for my family...seriously!! But someone warned us that "THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE COURSE!! SO PLEASE DON'T WASTE IT!". Aiyahh.... dunno lah what to do.... :(

HSM3 and beraya at Sila's

Since hubby is outstation (nyampah! asyik outstation je!! :P).... I planned with my kids to watch the High School Musical 3 at GSC Mid Valley on Saturday with Nana, kira cam reward la after I forced them to study hard for the KAFA final exam (result tak tau lagi nih.. tapi kasi chance lah ek?). Early in the morning, I received a call from Sila (my x-housemate when I was studying in UMKC, USA) who invited me to her open house in Shah Alam. She SMSed me a day earlier.. but I did not reply since I was so occupied with the pre-UAT of a new project (thought I could not make it, anyway!). But when she called me that morning... I felt the urge to see her again.... rindu sangat2!! How many years yaa... since I last met her?? Errr.. let's see... I last met her during Min's wedding... that was like in 1996. I was not even married then!!! Eiiii... lama sungguh tuh!! Lagi pun bila member dah call beriya2 like that... how can I say 'NO' kan?? So, I decided to call another friend, Marina to go to Sila's. Sila also told me our senior, Abang Haszman would be there... it would be nice to meet him again after all these years!!

Anyway, we had Pizza Hut at Mid Valley with Nana. Then watched the HSM3... not bad lah! Kids! :P Then rushed to Sila's after performing our Zuhur prayer at masjid tepi UM entrance tuh. With Fadhil's (Sila's hubby) guidance... I found their house easily... alhamdulillah. It's kinda nice to meet old frens again after all these years :) I finally got the chance to meet Sila and Marina again :) Ingat nak ambil gambar when I was at Sila's... tapi biasalah... dah jadi tetamu ni.. cam malu lah pulak kan... hahaha! :D

Today... hubby willl be back from Japan (yeay!)... so we decided not to go anywhere. Furthermore... kids' final exam is just around the corner.... dok umah je la jawabnya..

'Open department' day..

It's 'open department' day at ISD Auto Finance Application office :) Kebetulan, I have just finished mengganti puasa... so memang raya sakan lah nih! :) There were nasi beryani with mutton curry (I don't like mutton... tbut on that day... bedal jugak! not bad lah), rendang ayam, sup kambing... macam2 ada lah! Kuih-muih pun not bad... talam keladi + seri muka (kak yam's of course! hehe)... tapi paling best... SATAY Hj Samuri!!!! :) Lama tak pekena satay nih!!

Tapi pagi2 lagi dah bad mood. Hubby went to Japan (again?!!) so today I brought his Altis to work... (kononnya nak save the MyVi punya millage lah!). When I reached the parking... I realised I forgot to bring the parking card. Tried pressing the card button... tapi "NOT AVAILABLE" :( So bedal je masuk illegally (since the parking bar dah memang open) and kat belakang pun queue kereta nak masuk dah panjang! Tu satu cerita...! When I brought the kuih-muih upstairs (with boss' help!)... I realised Kak Yam dah tersalah bagi kuih... we ordered kole kacang.. it's my friends' favourite!! But Kak Yam buat talam keladi... another thing that make my morning sooooo 'hangit'!! Thought I'd go back and get the the card from home... (jauh tu... tapi tak kira lah.. malas dah nak fening2!)... but my friends said tak payah... they help me figure out how to 'get out' of the parking later... so okay lah... lega sket.

Lambatnya final exam!!!

OMG... lambatnya lah final exam this year!! It's on 3rd Nov - 5th Nov!! I really do not understand why the government is stressing on this!! Alasan takut nanti kids ponteng sekolah???? Come on!! Tak releven lah!! And I also do not understand why some parents are blaming the school kalau anak2 ponteng sekolah when the final exam is over?? Anak2 tu bukan ke tanggung jawab parents first?? Kesian lah the teachers.... nanti cuti sekolah pun kena mark students' papers!! Kena stream the students for next year classes... meaning.. the teachers kena datang kerja gak lah cuti sekolah ni kan?? Kesian.... :( Kalau tak mau the kids bored after final exam... then plan lah lots of activities!! Family day ke.. carnival or what-so-ever!! I just can't understand why they are doing this!! And kenapa the chinese school (to be exact... Sara's and Adam's school in USJ) can have their final earlier... before the Raya break??!!! And they planned lots of activities after that.... ni lah yang patut dipuji!! Good management! I salute them!! Kenapa sekolah kebangsaan aje kena ikut rules baru Jabatan Pendidikan tu??? Tak paham... tak paham.... :(

Why am I upset?? Ye lahh... the kids have KUMON ASHR ceremony on 2nd Nov.... I thought (kalau ikut the the school original 'takwim'... the finals should be on the 22nd Oct... so just nice lah kan... we can have fun at Berjaya Times Square on 2nd Nov! It's something for the kids to look forward after the final exam! Something to motivate them! But I guess we won't enjoy it much lah this year... sebab final exam belum over! Have to rush home nanti.. to make sure kids will not waste much time... sebab nak ulangkaji for the finals on the very next day.. *sigh!*. Geram... geram!!!

Claim on hubby's notebook

After the upsetting news this morning... I suddenly got a 'falling durian' (durian runtuh la tu..) from ETIQA - my maxihome contents claim on Hubby's notebook (which was kaput after the bad lightning last week) has been approved!! yeeehaaa!!!!! :)
The total replacement we got is RM3,161.70 (after 30% deduction)... okay lah tu babe!! Sapa nak bagi ek??? :) I am very excited actually.... ingat nak claim the money and buy a brand new notebook lah! :)

Increment NOT pass the bar competency???

This morning, I was soooooooooo upset with the Maybank HR!! As I wrote in this blog earlier, I had received a letter from HR saying that I have already passed the bar competency bar. But to my surprise... when I checked my salary statement via HR2U this morning, I found that my adjustment is just 'cukup-cukup makan' to reach the bar limit.... but NOT crossing the bar!! How come???!!! Ni yg makcik nak marah nih!!!! I asked around... friends who got the same letter surprisingly did not have the same problem... lagi lah makcik nak marah kan?!!!

So I call the HR... and after checking here and there.... the HR people said "Akak punya nama ni memang ada error lah!!". Ek-enaaaa..... ERROR?????!!! Sabo je lah!!! Buat sakit hati akak je ni dik oii!!! But alhamdulillah... supposedly my adjustment is more than that... so next month, they will credit to me with all the arrears and so on..... sheesh!! Tak pe lah... asalkan dapat!!! :)

Raya lagi... Oh yes!! We're still at it! :D

Last weekend.... again, kami pergi beraya.. :) Raya sebulan what??? hehehe. This time we went to Na's clinic (she's on duty.. so we could not go to her house), Ruby's (who just moved to Puncak Jalil area... which is about 5 mins drives from Na's) and lastly to Kak Eina's (we just found out how 'dekat' USJ is from Sri Kebangan.. huhuhu!! :D

On Sunday, we went to more open houses... all hubby's friends lah.. (Not fair eh? It's always his friends houses.... NOT mine! :P) First, we went to Hafiz's house in Batang Kali. I first got to know Hafiz and his wife when I followed Razak during Perodua PE trip to Swiss Garden, Lumut. I was pregnant with Izzat then. His wife, Shidah is an Add Maths teacher... wow!! Kena tabik lah... coz I thought it's quite a challenge to teach kids ADD MATHS!!! :) The most difficult subject in SPM!! hahaha!

Next we went to Azman Theran's house in Serendah. Azman Theran and his wife, Zaiton have been our good buddies for years. We went for Hajj on the same year back in 2003. Ton masak nasi dagang.... sedappp!!! :) Since I planned to fast on Monday... kena makan banyak lah.. hahha.. ALASAN!!! :P At Azman's house we met Sapak and family. And at last minute... upon Min's (Sapak's wife) invitation... we went to their house. Makan lagi!! Malam tu tak larat dah nak makan... though I was planning to fast the next day.
Now... (dah next dah lah) perut dah berbunyi2... coz first day puasa after a long break... huaaaa!!!! :P

On Friday night... hujan leeeeeeebat sangat!! Petir kuuuuuuuuuuaaaat sangat!! Quite scary! I tell you! The loud thunder and lightning had caused our telephone line 'kong'!! Even our modem and hubby's notebook which were attached to the phone line pun 'kong'!! KAPUT!! :(

Anyway, last weekend we sambung 'beraya'! - yea lahh... raya tetap raya!! hahaha!! On Friday noon, Angah SMSed me to inform that my aunties (my dad's sisters) - Wo and MokNgah are both in Batu Caves, at MokNgah's house. I haven't seen them for years... (bad, bad runiza!!)... so on Saturday morning.. kami beraya lah to Batu Caves. MokNgah's left leg dah kena potong... kencing manis rupanya makcik ku sorang tu. She looked thinner. Wo pulak looks surprisingly strong for her age (94 yrs old). She also looks fairer now that she's staying in KL :) Alhamdulillah... KakAni can take care of them both...

Later... went to PakItam's house in Ampang.... raya jgn tak raya!! The 'new' MakItam prepared a delicious curry mee!!! yummy!!! :) Next to NekChu's house.. and then to Achik's house. By the time we reached Acik's house.... semua orang dah flat!! keletihan!! So we decided go home and not going to Angah's open house (sorry angah!!). But had to send my mom's to Along's house first... so that she could go to Angah's open house with Along.

Sunday - stay at home!! Well... supposed lah... coz the kids need to study for their KAFA final on Monday. But last minute plan after DikMa sent Mak home... we went to Abang Li's house in Shah Alam.

Malam tu dah kelam kabut lah doing revision with the kids... my god... quite a challenge lah syllabus budak2 zaman sekarang ni!! So I ended up taking emergency leaves on Monday.. and sambung annual leaves on Tuesday and Wednesday... just to guide the kids doing revision for the KAFA final exam. With the modem kaput... I was at a total lost when the kids at school... bosan jugak lah! But I'm glad to get the chance to rest... coz last week I had to do a very challenging GL recovery... penat siut! Now that the recovery is finally done... and the kids KAFA is over.... lega lah sket! Need to focus on the Sekolah Kebangsaan final exam pulak lah.... (pehh.. mencabar ni!!). Wish me luck! :P
