Last day in Chiang Mai

On our last day in Chiang Mai, we decided to visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. It is a Buddhist temple located 15km from the city of Chiang Mai. The temple is also known as "Doi Suthep" which is also the name of the mountain where it is located.

There are definitely plenty of temples in Chiangmai to see. But I was told that I must not miss Wat Phra That Doi Suthep which was believed to be the most sacred temples in Chiang Mai.

We rented a songthaeaw to go there. Just the 2 of us in the songthaeaw - but I can't remember how much we had to pay the driver.  Those that get car sick might have some issues with the road up the mountain. and the smoke coming from our songthaeaw wasn't helping  -_-
Entrance at bottom of the hill to the temple...

Price of the entrance ticket to the temple...

Thanks god there was kind of funicular to go up to the temple. Otherwise... mak pengsan! -_-

It was awesome on top of the hill. Great view of Chiang Mai from the hill! And the gold-coloured temple really shine under the sun ;D
Lots of bell up here...

Yes, I am a MOM! :D

There were lots of monks performing prayer when we were at this temple...

Time to go home... we chose to use the stairs instead of the funicular on our way down..

Our rented songthaeaw was waiting for us down the mountain..

Last stop before lunch, the same Thai Silk shop we went on our first day in Chiang Mai! :D
This aunty managed the silk shop with 2 of her nephews. A very nice aunty. She gave me a small purse as souvenir :D

The thai silks that I bought...
The emerald green silk would be my baju raya this year :P

Our last meal in Chiang Mai for this trip before heading home...
Khao Soi Mee and Satay!

Left Chiang Mai for Malaysia that afternoon. So long Chiang Mai! Would definitely recommend friends to come to Chiang Mai (esp Chiang Rai!) for a short holiday ;)

P/S: Phew.... I finally gotto wrap up my postings on my Chiang Mai Trip... huhu!

Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2015

The main reason we chose to go to Chiang Mai in February this year was to witness the Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2015. Every year on the first weekend of February, the Chiang Mai Flower Festival takes place featuring a parade, flower exhibition and the Miss Chiang Mai Flower Festival competition.

Woke up early in the morning and was ready at the Tapae Road as early as 8am ;)

Sitting on the pathway waiting for the event to start

Jom layan gambar... As usual, these pics are from my phone collection. We are having wifi issues at home and our toshiba computer is so slow (I know... I need to upgrade to a new computer :P), hence the laziness of blogging and upload pics from our DSLR camera collection :(

The parade went on till late afternoon I think. By 11:30am, I was already hungry and decided to leave early to find something halal to eat :P Went back to the Halal Street and ate at this restaurant...

Hubby was delighted to see the menu. He wanted to try the Khao Sawy noodle - a famous noodle here in Chiang Mai. So yeap, of course we tried the famous noodle - and yeap, it was delicious! Yumm!!

Still hungry... hahaa... so we ordered the rojak! Yumm!!!

After lunch, we dropped by at the huge mosque for prayer...
Okay... selfie dulu before solat :P

Later, we hopped on a Songthaeaw, and stopped at Warorot Market again. Decided to explore the Warorot Market again to continue our search for Thai Silk :D
Stalls along the streets sell fruits at rock-bottom price. Can't resist the juicy mango.. hoho!

Now, here's an interesting one...
Eeeuuuu.... care to try these exotic food?
No food review fellows! I had a hard time just getting close to take this pic :P

We ended up buying some Chiang Mai tshirts for souvenirs only.
No thai silk found :P

Next, we hopped on another songthaeaw to go to Buak Haad Park - a beautiful small cozy park where they parked some of the flower-parade cars. There was also an agricultural exhibition, the contest and exhibition of flower arrangement, decorative plants, and mini garden landscaping, local products fair, ect at this place.

Beautiful flower arrangement competition...

Penat.... layan ayaq niur sat.... :D

We left that place late in the evening and continue exploring Chiang Mai City...
Hey look... Maybank!! :D

Ronda2 night market again...
Lotsa halal restaurant here...

Bought these cuties for my SRKDian BFFs :)

At first, we wanted to have dinner here...

Tapi jalan punya jalan... penat sudah... last2 makan sini jer...

Ordered these...
Mi goreng mamak and mihun goreng :D Bosan sungguh menu nya...

Muka penat sudah... huhu!

In a songthaeaw - back to our hotel... penat sudaaa...
