Western Europe Honeymoon Trip 1997 ♥

Tomorrow is our wedding 15th anniversary ;) So I thought I'd write a post on our honeymoon trip to Western  Europe back in winter 1997 just to 'mark' this special day ;)

We flew to London via Singapore 3 days after our wedding day and joined the Trafalgar tour group there :) We made lots of friends in the tour group... some from the States, South Africa, Mexico, ect... it was really interesting and we had sooo much fun!! :) Went to London, Paris, Lake Lucern, Milan, Rome, Florence, Venice, Verona, Innsbruck, Munich, Heidelberg, Cologne & Amsterdam :) My very first Europe experience outside London! It was like dreams came true when we walked around those beautiful romantic cities! We especially love Paris, Switzerland mountains, Innsbruck and of course Venice.. :)

We don't have digital camera back then... and yours truly are so lazy scanning the pics.. hehe! Easiest way.. recapture the pics in my album using my not-so-canggih camera... hikss! :D

Enjoy the pics :)
The itinerary ;)

We sure had so much fun during this trip :) Believe it or not... by the time we reached London at end of the trip, I only have USD1 in my wallet... huhu! Europe experience 2008

We had a greeaatttt time in Europe! Went to UK (London), Austria (Salzburg, Wolfgangsee, Hallstat, Postalm, ect), German (Munich) and Holand (Amsterdam). It was such an amazing experience!! A holiday that we'll never forget!!

London was busy as ever! The kids and I flew to London with KLM on Friday night. Zamri waited for us at the airport. Later, hubby and parents in law took MAS the next day... and again Zamri had to wait for them at the airport whilst myself and the kids took a rest at our rented appartment. We did lots of walking and exchanging tubes in London. It rained the day we went exploring London..... it was so cold! The London appartment was not bad... it's warm and cozy enough for 5 of us. Hubby and Zamri slept at other place as the appartment can only be occupied by 5 people max.

Waiting for our bus to go to Stansted Airport. Austria... here we come!! :)

Austria is a new experience for us especially for a new traveller like my parents in law and the kids.... It was their first snow experience... and what a wonderful one! The land are all white! And the appartment we rented in Austria is sooo awesome!!! It has 3 rooms, 3 bathrooms, a cozy family hall and a nice kitchen! I fall in love with that place! It was such an amazing experience to wake up and found the lands were all covered by snow! (been a long time since I have this experience back in Kansas City years ago!) We went skiing - my first skiing experience ever!! Never imagined how heavy the skiing equipments were... and it turned out quite bad... *lol* ! I fall down sooo many times!! And I can't stand up on my own.... the equipments were much too heavy for me to handle... huhuhu. We also went to the Salzburg town and Hallstat... very, very beautiful! In short.... Austria is amazing!! Would love to come again one day!! InsyaAllah...

Scenery from our rented kitchen... awesome!

So much fun at Postalm Ski Resort :)

The city of Salzburg

At beautiful Hallstat

Getting ready to leave Austria... Bye Austria... hope to be here again!

We got on a train in Salzburg to go to Munich, Germany... see the giant cuckoo clock and walked around. Had our dinner in a halal Turkish kebab stall - quite nice! :) And later hopped on a night train to go to Amsterdam. The night cabin has 6 beds - I shared a bed with Izzaty - and we slept quite soundly.... too tired I guess...

Our Deutsche-Bahn Munich-Salzburg express train

One day in Munich

Amsterdam is another experience. The weather was nice when we first arrived in Amsterdam.. and we bought a bus ticket to go to Kueken Hoff to watch the famous tulips garden. Unfortunately, once we reached there... it was raining... and later snowing!! Quite an unexpected weather! But we enjoyed our trip anyway... the flowers at Kueken hoff are beautiful! Izzaty got her face painted... and we had a great time posing with lots of beautiful flowers.... -rasa cam dalam filem hindustan pulak *lol* :)

The kids and I later separated from the others to catch our flight home from Amsterdam airport. The kids can't ponteng school any longer... one week is enough. And also... even though I hate to mention this... They have KAFA test next week.... hahaha....

In conclusion... it was an amazing holiday... hope the kids will remember it for life... ;)

Here's a pic of our pilots on our KLM flight back to KLIA (??)
