28th Ramadhan - Getting ready to balik Kampung

 This year, supposedly it was our turn to beraya with my mom dulu. But due to her health conditions, my Along advised us to balik beraya with our in laws first then later baru visit our mom. Sad… Syawal will never be same ever again for the #AbdulManafClan 😔 

Today, I did all the laundries dulu as we are going balik kampung super early tomorrow morning - plan nya Subuh sampai Kampung Merlimau, my hubby’s kampung.

Mood raya memang ke laut. No new baju raya for any of us - recycle je baju yg baru pakai sekali and those baju yang belum sempat pakai raya 2 years ago due to MCO 😝 

Hubby asked ‘you nak masak ke buka puasa today?’. Hmm… ikut hati memang malas nak masak sebab tak de mood… dah tak tau nak masak apa pun ya jugak! Tapi I need to finish up apa patut dalam fridge tu before leaving for kampung - takut nanti blackout, naya! So, I ended up masak lam jugak - sempoi je la tapi…

Ayam masak kurma - as requested by Ms Izzaty. First attempt tours truly masak lauk ni sebab tak begitu favourite… tapi rupanya anakanda suka.

Rendang Tok - since Amin bagi banyak - defrost je from dlm freezer.

So that’s it - end of ketuk2 Ramadhan in our house this year. Esok ketuk2 Ramadhan di Merlimau pulak lah kita ya. Wonder apa la menu nya nanti… 

Malam ni lepas solat terawih (esok harap masih kuat iman nak bertarawih di kampung… ni kalau dah ramai2 berkumpul kadang2 liat je nak buat kan… huhuu), sibuk packing apa patut utk balik kampung. Iron pun hangkut bawak skali (reason - tak pandai dah guna iron kat kampung tu 🤭). Nak pilih baju raya pun satu hal Lol! Al maklum, jenuh dok pikir and pilih…  baju mana satu yang perlu di recycle untuk pakai raya ni 😝 

Hubby tanya.. ‘Nak angkut ke Thermomix tu bawak balik kampung utk masak rendang?’ Erkkkk… tak pe lah kot… malas nak setting travel mode bagai… and ada bag special okay utk bawak travel Ms Timmy kita tu. I is lazy to pikir2… next time ya Cik Timmy ikut balik kampung… kali ni tak payah dulu lah…

26 Ramadhan - Nek kembali ke Rahmatullah…

Woke up about 12++ midnight to receive message that Mr Hubby’s grandma passed away last night.

So, Mr Hubby, yours truly and Izzat went back to Melaka today. Izzaty tak ikut tapi ditugaskan utk menjemput her cousin, Diya who is scheduled to come home from MRSM Kuala Kubu today. Since her parents pun balik Melaka, and our house is not that far fe Kuala Kubu… Zaty lah kena tlg jemput.

Yours truly sempat on zoom meeting back to back in the car on the way to Melaka… meeting dah schedule kan… terpaksa la join jugak… huhu..

Alhamdulillah, Nenek, at the age of  102++ selamat dikebumikan around 11am today.

أَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرلَها وَارْحَمْها وَعَافِها وَاعْفُ عَنْهَا وَاجْعَلِ الْجَنَّةَ مَثْوَاهَا

Ya Allah, ampunilah dia, berilah rahmat, sejahtera dan maafkanlah dia dan jadikanlah surga sebagai tempat peristirahatannya.

Meanwhile, Izzaty selamat menjemput her cousin balik from MRSM KKB.

Left Melaka around 3pm… tapi stucked in a very bad jam at Elite highway… so we decided to melencong somewhere else utk berbuka puasa and solat Maghrib before sambung perjalanan balik rumah…

First time berbuka puasa di luar this Ramadhan…

 Today, there was a Raya Townhall for Maybank Islamic Staff. End of the event, rupanya depa show all departments’ raya video montage yang we were forced to do last weekend.

Ya Allah… jenuh gelak tenguk bosses berlakun/berjoget/ in action… then tetiba keluar our department punya video pulak… adoiii lagi golek2 gelak 🤣🤣🤣

Ms Izzaty kata ‘tak payah rajin sangat lah ma! Mama tak penat ke?’ Iyaa… mama memang penat… tapi semangat tu ada nak oiii 😛 Adoii… okay laaa… tak de pilihan pun… Memang tak la nak keluar pi kedai beli tepung last2 minute ni kan…

So tu je lah menu kita ya… before 6.30pm dapur mama dah siap berkemas, lauk pauk dah terhidang…

A quiet 24th Ramadhan

 Today, sedikit chill. Meeting ada satu but cancelled at last minute. So today, tenang sikit… no anxiety attack haha.

Ms Izzaty got selected (after the final round interview for Maybank Ambassador program the other day) to the next level… ada berapa banyak level daaa 😬 This time she was called for ‘career conversation’. Macam ada cahaya sikit kan? Petronas tak dengar berita lagi ni huhuu… And tomorrow, she has 3rd round interview with Shopee pulak…

Kita doa yang terbaik je ya Zaty? Moga ada rezeki Izzaty in one of those interviews…

Anxiety attack on 23rd Ramadhan

Over the weekend, our team was given a last minute assignment to do a few seconds video for our Raya montage. Tapi biasa laaa busy kot weekend… both Saturday and Sunday ada activities - mana dan nak buat hehee. So Monday morning, bangun ke terus stress… anxiety attack terus bila boss kejar suruh submit video asap. I kena buat 2 video pulak tu! One siap ada dialog - pesanan penaja and another one senyap je tapi still kena ada video. Kita ni tak photogedik boss… bukan macam budak2 tiktok zaman sekarang… camera shy okay huhuu. Nak berlakun pun keras kejung Lol!

Thanks god ada anakanda geneasi baru ni… tatau la dia ada account tiktok ke dok tapi at least she helped me to get the video done… thank you Izzaty! Loves you!!

Punya lah busy with meetings and datelines today, masak pun lambat! Then tengah masak pun ada call from office… kelam kabut punya pasal sampai berlaku kelalaian menyebabkan Ms Timmy diberi salah instruction dan hasilnya, lupa nak tekan reverse mode and ayam ku hancur dikerjakan Ms Timmy 😭😭

Bukan itu saja… garam also terlebih taruk menyebabkan kami membazir masa utk adjust rasa (sibaik ada orang x posa dlm rumah ni boleh tlg rasa 😏)

Makanya… begini lah hasil hari ini 😖

Duit Raya is Ready! 22nd Ramadhan

 Today, Ms Izzaty and I went sopping… cuci2 mata for baju raya and ‘baju travel’ in case la ada yang berkenan hehee. I found one knitted top at Lilit’s outlet… ironless of coz… berkenan kaler lain tapi tak de size… yang ada my size hanya black colour… hmmm okay lah… coz I need one baju baru for this trip 🤭🤭

Actually, the main reason we came here was to meet my staff, Rina, who helped me to tukar duit raya 💵 

Bertingkek2 duit eh kono tukar heheee. Mine tak banyak pun… since Rina nak pi tukar duit, sis tumpang laa 😅

By the time sampai dah penat… sempat la masuk some duit dlm sampul raya then terus masuk dapur masak for iftar.

Ms Izzaty tolong sekejap di dapur… she got a date for iftar… boifren datang pickup 🙄🙄

Dah bosa anak dagho den… dah berboipren tekauu…

Makanya, mama bertungtang sorang2 kat dapur when she went out… luckily dia sempat tolong prepare some of the ingredients before keluar… thanks girl! Love you 😘

Iftar with Hussin Clan - 21st Ramadhan

It’s Saturday, yeehaaa!

Today, the #HussinClan gathered together for iftar.

When I first heard their plan, the first thing that crossed my mind ‘apa nak masak ni?’ Huhuuu…

Dlm fridge ada daging salai which Germ post to me the other day. Everyone suka rasanya daging salai so why not kan. Ingredients semua pun ada in the house… so okay lah… daging salai it is. Tapi tiba2 rasa nak buat dessert gak… mood rajin datang tetiber haha. Nak buat yang paling senang.. decided on tepung pelita sbb mmg dah lama nak buat and Ms Izzaty pun pernah sebut Ramadhan ni tak rasa lagi Tepung Pelita.

Makanya… begini lah kejadiannya…

2nd BAS training - 20th Ramadhan

 Today, I was on Cikgu Bedah mode 😅

Had to collaborate with the Branch Operations team to conduct training on RBS system Product Onboarding Process to 8 new Business Account Specialists (BAS) from several branches nationwide.

This was actually our 2nd training. The first one was on 17th Feb.

Kamarul used to be our FE (Financial Executive) in our KLMain branch (Menara Maybank). I used to buy travel insurance or renew my car insurance with him… but that was ages ago! Dia pun dah transfer to other branch lepas tu… tak sangka lak he can remember me Lol! Customers kat KLMain branch tu ramai kot! Somemore he still keep my number!! (FE usually have customers’ numbers esp staff as they sometimes keep our application dulu and process kemudian to give priority to other customers’ applications dulu - we all staff maa… can just do later and call je we all balik once dah siap).

Alhamdulillah, we have reached the last final 10 days of Ramadhan. Kena pasang gear 3 dah utk kejar the advantage of Ramadhan and to seek for Lailatul Qadr. 

Moga Allah permudahkan usaha kami ke arah itu 🤲🏻  

 Oh btw, syukur alhamdulillah, nampaknya kami masih lagi bertahan tak menapau food di luar for Iftar this Ramadhan😅 Sis dah cemuih okay!! Cemuihhhh!!! Huhuu!  Dah mati akai dah dok pikiaq apa nak masak hari2. Hari2 dok belek resepi Ms Timmy cari idea 🤭🤭

Another 🐯 in the family? 18th Ramadhan

 Today, Ms Izzaty ada round 3 of Maybank Apparentice selection intrrview. Dari pukul 12.30 sampai 6 petang okay! Eh mama tak masuk campur ya… she sendiri apply… mama has nothing to do with it 😬

Alhamdulillah, she made it to the next round. Malam ni ada another challenge and tomorrow another round - uishhh giler tul Maybank ni. Panjang tul selection process dia… no wonder our Apparentice staff are very well paid and memang shine in their job! Sibaik zaman mama dulu tak macam ni ya huhuuu. Will there be another Maybanker 🐯 in the family? We’ll see ya…

Previously in the morning, another department from Petronas call… kali ni the offer is for a permanent basis job pulak… and they are willing to wait for Zaty to join in June… yang ni menarik kan? 😀

Zaty kena istikorah la ya… moga Allah dorong untuk membuat pilihan yang terbaik..

Nuzul Quran Public Hols - 17th Ramadhan

 It’s a public holiday sempena Hari Nuzul Quran.

I seriously lost track of this… if a colleague did not mentioned it in the meeting yesterday, I would surely forgot and wondering why Mr Hubby was not ready to work in the morning 😅

Anyway, sempena Nuzul Quran ni, there is a special kuliah by my big boss, Dr Ramadhan Fitri…

I have to say that my boss is really, really awesome!! So proud and honoured to work under him for the past few years! One of the best bosses I’ve ever had! 👍🏼

Ms Izzaty got another call from another department in Petronas. This time memang her dream department la… investment. Apparently, Petronas needs people in their Gradute Trainee program which starts in May. No wonder la berderet2 team from Petronas call 🤔 And again, she had to explain that she cannot start work in May. 

Hmmm… kita doa yang terbaik lah… moga ada rezeki yg terbaik dunia dan akhirat utk anakanda.

Today, other than listening to the kuliah, there’s not much to do.. did laundries, lipat kain… then just watched TV. Boring nya la kan haha. 

Makanya, punya la awal masuk dapur arini…

Just Another Manic Monday - 16th Ramadhan

 Started my Monday with bangun sahur and cooked scramble egg utk anak bujang ku. Yang lain tu mmg sahur makan kurma je 😝 

Lepas ni dah kena pikir la pulak menu sahur ya tuan2 dan puan2…. Huhu.

Pagi ni pergi walk2… my 2nd morning walk this Ramadhan. After the 1st Ramadhan I somehow failed to keep the momentum... manjang penat huhuu! I really need to gain back the stamina before going for our family trip!

(Not) Raya Shopping on 15th Ramadhan

 Today, kami pi sopping 😀

Bukan la sopping raya naa… this year, we decided to recycle the baju that we wore during my nephew’s wedding reception recently.. malas nak beli baru lol! 

The truth is, I still have a few baju raya from 2 years ago years (pre covid), that I have not the chance to wore yet. Musim covid kan tak leh beraya sangat… so baju2 tu tak berpakai… Entah muat ke tak lagi agaknya 😂😂

Anyway, today’s shopping objective is definitely not for raya… but for our next family trip after raya nanti… tu diaaa… semangat nak pi jalan lagi kuat dari semangat nak beraya 🤣🤣 Maklum laa dah lama tak berjalan sejak musim Covid ni😝

Sebab semalam tenguk mcm best je Mr Hubby sopping… today, dia racun we all pulak pi tempat tu. Wahh… gelora hati I!! Elok2 tak de dlm list to buy, TERbeli jugak uoulsss!!! Camana niii huhuuu… 

By 9.30am kami dah sampai and beratur to enter… bukak kul 10am okay… punya semangat kan haha. 

First item yg ditangkap - a pair of hiking shoes. Dah ada kat rumah sepasang, beli in 2017 for our Hawaii trip. Elok lagi… tapi hati membuak2 tenguk harga offer - dari rm700++ jadi rm200++. Northface brand tu!! Somemore colour purplish pink gitew… maun x gelora jiwa tenguk huhuu. Tewas di situ… 

Pastu jalan2 pulak tenguk winter/spring jackets. Oh my…. Cantik2 and at a very good price!!! How to remain calm la like that? 🤭🤭

Makanya… mencuba lah beberapa spring jacket utk our upcoming trip (asyik pakai same jacket je kan… bila scan IG balik, ye lah… asyik la jacket tu je!) - tu diaaa… justification cantik punya utk beli baru 🤭🤭

 

Tried a few different jackets but mostly dok pilih same colour. Entah kenapa kaler tu jugak yg yours truly berkenan…so beli gak lah satu 🤭🤭

Anak dara I sorang tu pun paw satu jacket!! Sebab dah belikan tuk kakak… kena la belikan satu tuk adik… kang balik dia mengungkit pulak kata dia nya tak de ke… huhuu.

So total damage - 4 jackets (si ayah pun tapau satu lagi jacket adoii…), one shoes and one small sling back utk yours truly bawak gi hiking - all at good discounted price!!

Tak berani nak sebut total damage in RM 😅

But enough to say that total amount we saved were about double the amount we paid! Sangat2  berbaloi, alhamdulillah…

Okay lah cukup2 lah shopping tu. Pasni dok diam sampai raya! 😬😬

By the way, Izzat is home. Cuti 2 bulan - he requested to postpone masuk intern next round (he is now doing intern at Firefly) just because nak ikut we all gi vacation lepas raya 🤪 Panjang akal this one!!

So our house will be full again for 2 months. Mama is blessed ❤️

Aiyoooo this one kalau dok rumah memang tanya pasal food aje… mama lupa! Buka puasa pun belum lagi dik oiii 🙄🙄 Rumah ni this Ramadhan tak de moreh ya dik… sahur pun makan kurma je 🤪 I guess mama kena prepare food gak lah for moreh and sahur huhuuu…

Boring Saturday of 14th Ramadhan

Today memang satu hari yang sangat tak productive.

Mood malas melanda 🤪 Just chilling at home watching  YouTube yg ntah apa2 while Mr Hubby go out in the hunt of a pair of new hiking shoes at North Face Warehouse Sale in Damansara. Yours truly konon malas nak ikut. 

Katanya nak cari kasut je… tapi punya lah lama 🤔 

Ms Izzaty kata ‘Ayah ni beli kasut ke buat kasut lama sangat ni?’ 🤣

Okay lah… esok yours truly pulak nak gi cari shopping hahaha! Serious lama tak gi shopping… nowadays my shopping hanya lah untuk groceries shopping 😅 Or sometimes online shopping Lol! I just realised how boring my life has been huhuuu..

I need to get out of this house juga lah to distress myself. Wfh ni terperuk je kat rumah… bosan juga. Rindu juga nak masuk office jumpa kawan2 tapi bila kenangkan traffic jem masuk KL tu terus malas hahaha!

Today marked 2 weeks of Ramadhan with homemade lauks spread on our table for iftar - no outside food - not even pasar ramadhan kuihs! Kalau ada pun buah je 😅Tetiba rasa bangga dgn diri sendiri ☺️☺️

Eeee… tatau la boleh bertahan sampai bila kan Lol! Penat weiii jadi suri rumah TAK sepenuh masa 🤧🤧

Today by 6.15pm dah settled masak and kemas dapur.

Bosan la tu kan 😅 Hmmm… I so need to get outta the house for a break 😅

Meanwhile, a quick reminder to myself especially - malam ni terawih start baca witir ya… malam ni dah malam 15th Ramadhan… sekejap je kan? 😍

13th Ramadhan - Salam Jumaat Sayyidul Ayyam

 Salam Jumaat Sayyidul Ayyam, Penghulu segala hari.

I always look forward to Friday. Sejak zaman sekolah kot! Friday night in TKC, during my boarding school days, meant lauk ayam, the best lauk of the week!! Friday also means ice-cream night! Siapa tak suka kan? 😅 

Then as I grew older, Friday means weekend is approaching.. and everybody loves weekend right? 😘 It means we don’t have to go to work lol!

But now that I am working from home, Friday morning means Al Kahfi moment for me. I try to recite the whole surah but bila malas melanda (🤪), the least I would do is just recite the first 10 and last 10 of the ayats.

Ms Izzaty had another call from Petronas today… kali ni she was interviewed by a different department. Job scope sounds interesting katanya but she made it clear that she could not start working in May (nak pi vacation kan haha!) and she wanted to focus on her study for her 1st level of CFA exam in August. Which means she only wants to start working in September (banyak lak songel dia ni kan 🤪 ). So the interviewer said he will discuss with the others first and will let her know their decision soon. Kita doa yang terbaik saja la kan…

Today, kita bagi Ms Timmy coti lagi as she had worked hard yesterday 😅 So, lauk2 today all cooked on manual stove ya 🤭

12th Ramadhan - It’s a Thurmyday

Productive 11th Ramadhan

Had a productive day today, alhamdulillah. 

Groceries with Ms Izzaty early in the morning sampai terlambat punch in opis… sampai2 je rumah Boss wassap suruh masuk zoom meeting… aduhai, kelam kabut mak!

Ms Izzaty had 2 job interviews today. 

First one was with Petronas - the offer was from Risk Department, to start on 16/5 if she accept the offer. Unfortunately, she had to reject the offer as the job scope doesn’t interest her. Furthermore, we are going for family vacation in middle May and she would not want to miss that huhuu. Alahai… Petronas kot… hmmm, bukan rezeki dia lah tu… Allah has better plan for her, insyaAllah.

2nd interview was for Apparentice program in Maybank. Whoaaa… anak 🐯 betul ni… Mama dah yellow blood dah ni… anak pula mencuba nasib hehe.

Back to back meeting on 10th Ramadhan

10th Ramadhan sudah. How time flies.

Today meeting starts as early as 8.45am. I have back to back meeting and in between that, at noon, sempat join zoom taddabur on Surah Mulk by our imam, Ustaz Airil.

30 mins je… alahai… baru ustaz taddabur 2 ayat, dah habis.. jadi lah kan… a very barokah 30 mins indeed.

Today mmg busy dgn meeting and discussion  ajer lah.. no testing done.

Today also marked Ms Izzaty’s last day of degree program. She had her last presentation today via zoom for her lecturer and supervisor in Khazanah Berhad.

Syukur alhamdulillah… thank you Allah ❤️

Ms Izzaty is now unofficially graduated (waiting for her final sem result), and officially a penganggur. 

Doa2 la cepat dapat kerja ya huhuuu…

Resepi Ms Timmy ni mmg derhaka sungguh resepi asal orang Nismilan. Orang Nismilan tak do lotak bawang doh kok masak lomak cili padi Cik Timmy oiii… lagi satu paling susah terima resepi suruh letak chilli paste - errr lada boh la kan?? I was like ‘whatttt?? 🤔🤔’ Tapi tak pe… kita ikutkan aje resepi ni nak tenguk camana outputnya… makanya, as per above pic, kemerahan sikit masak lomak cili padi den ni… malu eh nenguk as orang nismilan… hahahaa! Rupa fail! Tapi rasa?? Tunggu sat lagi buka puasa ya… 

Accompanied by sambal tempe + ikan bilis + kacang and Ms Izzaty’s favourite, kailan ikan masin.
