On our last day in Chiang Mai, we decided to visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. It is a Buddhist temple located 15km from the city of Chiang Mai. The temple is also known as "Doi Suthep" which is also the name of the mountain where it is located.
There are definitely plenty of temples in Chiangmai to see. But I was told that I must not miss Wat Phra That Doi Suthep which was believed to be the most sacred temples in Chiang Mai.
We rented a songthaeaw to go there. Just the 2 of us in the songthaeaw - but I can't remember how much we had to pay the driver. Those that get car sick might have some issues with the road up the mountain. and the smoke coming from our songthaeaw wasn't helping -_-
Entrance at bottom of the hill to the temple...
Price of the entrance ticket to the temple...
Thanks god there was kind of funicular to go up to the temple. Otherwise... mak pengsan! -_-
It was awesome on top of the hill. Great view of Chiang Mai from the hill! And the gold-coloured temple really shine under the sun ;D
Lots of bell up here...
Yes, I am a MOM! :D
There were lots of monks performing prayer when we were at this temple...
Time to go home... we chose to use the stairs instead of the funicular on our way down..
Our rented songthaeaw was waiting for us down the mountain..
Last stop before lunch, the same Thai Silk shop we went on our first day in Chiang Mai! :D
This aunty managed the silk shop with 2 of her nephews. A very nice aunty. She gave me a small purse as souvenir :D
The thai silks that I bought...
The emerald green silk would be my baju raya this year :P
Our last meal in Chiang Mai for this trip before heading home...
Khao Soi Mee and Satay!
Left Chiang Mai for Malaysia that afternoon. So long Chiang Mai! Would definitely recommend friends to come to Chiang Mai (esp Chiang Rai!) for a short holiday ;)
P/S: Phew.... I finally gotto wrap up my postings on my Chiang Mai Trip... huhu!
