Luahan hati sehari sebelum raya..

It's the last day or Ramadhan. But I am still at the office now *sigh*! :( But take note... I am in the office.... but not really doing any work... hahaha! :D Mana boleh kerja babe... dah mood raya nih! :D
Well.... esok Hari Raya... yeay! :) Tonight, my eldest sis and brother are coming to my place to berbuka puasa beramai2.... the kids are excited of course... tonight they can main bunga api with their cousins. There is a change of plan at the very last minute... instead of spending our first raya at Bukit Beruntung... the 3 of us decided to go back to Kuala Pilah to visit our relatives right after the Eid prayer. So Angah and family won't be staying at my place tonight... instead he plans to go straight to Pilah and perform Eid prayer at our beloved masjid pilah. I wish I can do the same... but mak said we won't make it.... 'terkocoh2 amek tu... kang satu apah tak dapek buek!'. Yeah.. I guess she's right... so Angah & family will go first... whilst Along and myself (with our family of course) will follow after the Eid prayer at our own town (Me of course at Bkt Beruntung.. and Along at Sri Damansara). It's exciting to be able to go back to my kampung again this raya.. after 2 years not being able to do so... BUT... My view of "Hari Raya" is togetherness!! I mean... sisters, brothers and kids berkumpul with our beloved mak.. where ever mak is!! And on pagi raya.. of course nak salam2an.. cium tangan mak minta maaf, ect. The point is... to be with my mom and my siblings on pagi raya.... that's make 1st raya is very special! Mana sama dengan 2nd raya or malam sebelum raya.... NO! Tak sama!!! After all... setahun pun cuma sekali, ye tak? (Or may be dua tahun sekali... coz we have to rotate balik kampung our in laws as well, betul tak? Happened, this year it's our turn to raya with my mom... so better make the best of her time... betul tak? So... the idea to balik Pilah on our own... rasa cam tak raya la pulak.... macam ordinary day aje.. nothing special on the pagi raya :( Frankly, I am a bit upset lah with their decision... tapi nak buat camne kan... :(

Last weekend in Ramadhan

Glad it's weekend! Ramadhan is also near to the end. While I'm excited to celebrate raya.. but it's sad now that Ramadhan is nearly end. What have I done this Ramadhan? Err.. I'm not sure.. really! I did try my best to do the terawih prayers on my own.. but I did skipped a few days.. atas alasan 'tak larat'.... yeah right! I guess my iman is not that strong... *sigh!* :( This year, I do feel tired throughout the fasting month.. I did not take any food during sahur except for a cup of plain water.. and 1 or 2 kurma once in a while... I just could not eat at that hour... :( Even berbuka pun tak makan banyak.... just can't do it like I usually did in my previous fasting month.... adakah ini tanda2 aku sudah tua??? aiyo... I guess I have to accept the fact lah... that I AM OLD!!! :P

Tonight, I enjoyed watching the kids playing bunga api in our garden. I bought some pelita(s) at JJ Mid Valley last Friday.... kononnya nak pasang during the malam 7 likur... unfortunately, both hubby & I were so tired on Friday night... tak larat la pulak... so malam ni lah baru tercapai cita2 tu. We're trying our best to make our raya as beautiful as possible... especially for the kids. This is the first raya ever... that we are not celebrating our first raya at kampung :( Instead of balik kampung... my brother and sisters are coming to my place since my mom is staying with me. So it's like... my house is our new kampung lah...!! Hence, the pelita is one of our effort lah gitu... to meriahkan suasana 'kampung' ni.. hehe. Harap2 selamat lah semua...

Izzat towards the end of Ramadhan.... sahur pun tak buka mata!! Tu pun kena bawa food masuk bilik.. hehe.

Our home is now with pelita, yeay!! Tapi tak semeriah pasang pelita at our Pilah house... huhuhu :~(

Chambarihan Nawati

During my life in ITM, Shah Alam... I have a room-mate who shared almost everything with me. Chambarihan Nawati binti Zaladin (a very unique name, isn't it?) shorten as 'Emie' (Err.. I have no idea mana datang nama Emie ni!) was not just a roommate, she was my best friend.. my confidant! We sure shared lotsss of secret together... which of course I can't share them here.. hehe ;) She studied Landscape Architecture... and I always remember her doing her landscape design assignment on her bed at the very last minute... dia mmg suka buat kerja last minute... hehe :) Emie is funny, witty and very easy going... that's why we 'clicked' together :)
Anyway, after I graduated from ITM... we lost contact. I can't remember how... but after I came back from USA, we managed to get in touch again for a while (she was a landscape architect at a big company in KL then). But later, after both of us got married, we kinda lost contact of each other. For the past few years, asyik teringat aje kat dia... dunno why! I even called Germ (Emie's hubby and Germ's hubby are old friends) to ask if they know their whereabout... but of course no one knows. So, I 'googled' her.... and found out she's now a teacher (a teacher?? from a landscape designer??! What a big change!) in Sungai Rambai, Melaka. So everytime I go balik kampung Melaka... I will think of her!! But I didn't do anything to get in touch with her....
Well, this year.... I wanted to suprise her by sending a raya card using her school address.. which of course I got via Google again :) I left my phone number on the card.... hoping that she'd call me. True enough... she called me this morning!!! YESS!!!! Akhirnya... dapat jugak contact dia after all these years!!! :)) Terubatlah rindu kami ini... :D Semoga this friendship akan terus berkekalan... ** berdrama pulak saya kali ni ek? hahaha!.** THE END! :D

Ramadhan Update

Tup tup... it's now 17th Ramadhan. Alhamdulillah... the kids are surviving :D So far diorang masih penuh lagi puasa... syukur! :) Unlike their mama... yg dah terkantoi a few days due to 'unavoidable' reason :D
Last weekend we went back to Melaka again... it's the arrival of their long-awaited new sofa and dining table!! Yeay! Ye lah... the house has been newly renovated.... so now new sofa and dining table... in shorts... raya sakan lah orang Melaka tahun ni... hehee :D Unfortunately, Zamri had to go back to New Castle last Monday... but at least sempat la member merasmi kan the new sofa and dining table... heheee.. :D
The not-so-good news is.... Izzat got 22nd place in the previous monthly test... wah... what a BIG difference from 5th place during the mid-term exam!!!! Aiyoyo.... mama turned on panic button already!!!! We have like a month to prepare for the final exam!! But alhamdulillah, Izzaty did quite well... she got 1st place in the monthly test... but I'm sure all her friends will be studying harder for the final exam!! Cannot play-play lah like this.... must start revision now!!!! *sigh!*

This is like a new tradition for us... on the first Saturday of each Ramadhan.. we invited family members from both sides for berbuka puasa gathering. And as usual.. the must-have-menu is my mother's 'roti jala' + kari ayam. Giler penat menebar jala!! :D Imagine.. we started at 12.30pm... pukul 4+ baru habis menjala!! :D And the smell... my god... menguji iman puasa ku... hahaha!
Anyway, it was fun! As usual, my parents-in-law came first at around 4.30pm bringing some dadih epal and lauk daging berempah.. my favourite! Yummy!! :)
Hubby forgot to buy ice-cream soda.. so I had to rush to Grand Union at around 5pm to get a few bottles plus some more additional things with Izzaty and Zamri tagging along. To our surprise, we met Na there... of all places!! She was searching for laksa rupanya... (coz she's bringing Laksa Johor.. her signature dish!). Unfortunately Saadan could not make it this year... demam... kesiannnn.... rugi la Saadan takde... :P
Later, DikMa and family came... followed by Along and family who brought kuih lopez (especially made by our own Bang Long!! So impressed lah!! hehe). Angah and family reached later with 3 boxes of Ayamas... more yum! yum!
Then when the iftar time was very near... baru la nampak bayang si Ruby and family (sesat rupanya diorang ni... tsk tsk!). So makan time!! The kids were so excited berbuka with so many food to choose... So meriah! So fun!! :)
Hamzah and family only came when we were doing solat Maghrib berjemaah at our living hall with Bang Long as our imam. SO cute to see Izzat, Daniel and Adam solat bersama... :) Not to forget Sara, Danisyah and Izzaty... :D Sejuk hati mak agaknya tenguk everyone datang berbuka with her...

What do you want to drink for iftar? Punch (in the big tumbler!), Tea, Warm Soya? All were ready at this area - Wan Chik, Along, May (again? She seemed to be every where!!) and my mom in law borak2 after buka posa...

Hamzah and Co. arrived just when we started the Maghrib jemaah prayer...

Izzaty's gold kurung is finished!

Yeap!! It's done!! :) Lega giler! :) We (Izzaty and I) have another pair of baju raya which I intend to sew beads as well.... but both baju are not ready yet... so I guess... I will not be touching the beads and needles for a while... rehat la pulak! Penat la jahit beads nih!!

A few days ago, an old friend suddenly left me a message via FB. I was so thrilled!! Have not heard from her for like...... 13 years!!! So imagine how trilled I was when suddenly, out of the blue, I got a message from her..... So nice of her!


Suraini Talib @ Kitty was my dorm mate for several years... and of course we shared lotssssss of memories :) I really hope after this I'll be getting in touch with more friends via FB...

Happy Ramadhan 1429

Happy Ramadhan everyone! It's a very beautiful month.... and alhamdulillah I thank god for giving me the strength and good health to fast this Ramadhan. The kids are also fasting... alhamdulillah. Hopefully, we could make it without a hitch all the way till end of this Ramadhan...

Hubby and my mom went to the mosque for the terawih prayer. Wished I could join them.. but I just do it alone at home (insyaAllah..) so that I'd be able to monitor the kids doing their kumon homework and do some revision. Izzat is having a bit difficulty in doing his worksheets.... he also did very badly in his kumon ReDT last month. Ms Jaya called us... and as usual.... had to suffer a bit of lecturing lorr (sheesh.. anak yg buat hal... parents pun kena dengar lecture!).

I'm now in the process of sewing beads on Izzaty's baju raya. The baju is to match my previous gold thai silk... but Izzaty's is not thai silk... (bengang je member! hehe). It's 90% done. Will update this blog with a pic of the baju once I've completed it... InsyaAllah.
