Last days in Iceland - Day 6 & 7

Today, we visited the Thingvellir National Park - where we can walk between two continents - North American and Eurasian.

Thingvellir National Park is apparently a very special place in Iceland - it is the birthplace of Iceland. It was the site of the Althing, the site of Iceland's parliament of Iceland from 10th to 18th centuries.
It is also a designated UNESCO World Heritage site because thiis is the site of the world's oldest existing parliament.

It was a sunny beautiful day... and we had fun exploring this park... lots of walking done here in the park... this place is huge!!!
Yours truly enjoying the Icelandic Vitamin D dose :)

With my lovely sis, Dr Na.

Mr and Mrs

We left this place before noon... enough of Icelandic Vit D dose :D

Next, we stopped for lunch in Blaskogabygoo and later a quick stop to witness The Great Geysir here in Blaskogabygoo.
There was a video taken here of the Great Geyser... but somehow I failed to upload the video here.

Our next and last tourist attraction stop was Gullfoss - the last waterfall we visited here in Iceland.
Gulfoss - which means 'Golden Falls' is one of Iceland's most iconic and beautiful waterfalls.
Subhanallah... memang cantik view di sini.
Kalau tadi berpanasan di Thingvellir National Park.. in Gulfoss, we got ourselves soaked kesejukan!
Just look at the amazing view!!
Subhanallah... cantiknya bumi Iceland kurniaan Allah ini...

We later left Gulfoss for Garour, a small village located on the tip of the Rejkjanes Peninsula of Iceland. The village is located not far from the airport - hence we choose to stay there for the night.

The travel buddy last meal together - dinner @ Garour.
Menu : Soto Goreng  - signature dish of my BIL, Saadan :)

Early next morning, we left Iceland...
Goodbye Iceland... we had a blast in this land of ice and fire!!
Another bucket list destination checked off!
Hope to see you again one day.... ;)

Well.... off to our next destination - SWITZERLAND!
See ya later...

Witnessing another Aurora Borealis - Iceland Day 5

Not far away from our Kirkjufell cottage, there is this beautiful place - a picturesque mountain that rises high alongside the stunning Kirkjufellsfoss Waterfall.... Subhanallah... cantik sangat!!

Anyway, Mount Kirkjufell has been listed as one of the top 10 most beautiful mountains in the world. You just need to see this awesome view to understand why! Definitely another favourite place of mine in Iceland! Cantik banget!! <3

Super windy here in Kirkjufell - tudung pun beterbangan... haha!

We later left Kirkjufell to continue our journey to explore this beautiful country. It was our 5th day in Iceland... time definitely fly fast when we were having so much fun ;)

Next destination - Reykjavik, the capital city of Iceland ;)
Our first destination in Reykjavik - a quick stop at the The Grand Mosque of Iceland.
Masyallah... syukur alhamdulillah... Moslem community here is quite strong.

Daging halal... yeahhh!!! malam ni boleh masak daging! ;)
Anyway, take note on the code for halal food ya... ada di jual at local grocery stores as well... as long as you know the codes for halal meat then you can obtain halal meat at any grocery stories in Iceland.

Next, ronda2 bandar Reykjavik.

Lunch at Icelandic Street Food Cafe...
Lunch the Icelandic way ;D

After lunch, sambung ronda2 the city of Reykjavik.
Hallgrimskirkja -  the largest church in Iceland and among the tallest structures in the country.

Singgah Hard Rock Cafe souvenir shop jap...
Melayan kaum bapak sopping...
kaum tukang pegang bag je... lol! ;D

Before leaving the Reykjavik, a quick stop at the waterfront to see this famous sculpture :
The Sun Voyager - a gleaming steel sculpture that resembles a Viking Ship - created by a famous Icelandic sculptor, Jon Gunnar Arnason.

Left Reykjavik later and checked-in into our rented cottage in Laugarvatn.
Comel2 cottages here in Iceland.

As planned, dinner lauk daging kambing you all haha!

That night, we were lucky again to witness the beautiful dancing light of aurora borealis.
Subhanallah.... that's all that came out of my mouth while watching in awe this beauty of Allah's creation....

Laugarvatn, we left you the next morning with such fond memory...
