Izzaty's ICAS maths result

ICAS - International Competitions and Assessments for Schools is conducted by the University of New South Wales, Australia.

As stated in ICAS website :

The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) Mathematics assesses students’ skills and knowledge across five strands:
• Algebra and Patterns - Involves patterns of numbers, relationships between numbers and the use of symbols to stand for unknown or variable numbers.
• Chance and Data - Involves mathematical treatment of data and statistics.
• Measures and Units - Involves properties of the physical world that can be measured, the units used to measure them and the process of measurement.
• Number and Arithmetic - Involves types of numbers, their properties and number operations. The strand has strong links with Measures and Units, Algebra and Patterns and Chance and Data. It also has some links with Space and Geometry.
• Space and Geometry - Involves the properties of two-dimensional and three-dimensional space.

Izzaty sat for the exam a few months back and got her result recently. 

As per stated in her cert... she only got 22 out of 40 correct. Doesn't sounds good... but at least it is a CREDIT ;) Walaupun tak dapat distinction, I think for a beginner, she did well.... and surprisingly her score was in the TOP 29% of form 1 participants.... So, we should be thankful kan... alhamdulillah :)

Apparently, the result is based on this :

High distinction Certificate
·         The top 1% of entrants in each year level in each participating state (Australia) and country. 

Distinction Certificate
·         The next 10% of entrants in each year level in each participating state (Australia) and country. 

Credit Certificate
·         The next 25% of entrants in each year level in each participating state (Australia) and country. 

Participation Certificate
·         All other students receive a Participation Certificate.

One of her friends got distinction in the exam... such a genius girl!! She is the only girl in form 1 TKC who got distinction in the Maths ICAS exam. A few girls got credit (including Izzaty) and a few more got participation cert. Not sure about the school ICAS English score as my daughter was only selected for the maths paper...

Well, let's try harder next year yah! ;)

Playing tourist @ Jonker Street, Melaka

Went to Bandaraya Melaka bersejarah on 11th Zulhijjah (2nd day of Raya Haji) and decided to play tourist at Jonker Street ;) For me, Jonker Street is like Melaka's version of KL's Petaling Street... but definitely nicer as it has its own charm to represent the historical state of Melaka. That makes Jonker Street so special and attracts lots of tourist every day :)

This is a normal scenery in Melaka... the tricycle @ beca here are decorated uniquely to attract visitors.

It was such a hot day... so we decided to eat cendol at Jonker 88 restaurant.

 Nice ambiance in Jonker 88 restautrant.. .but very crowded! People queued for food and cendol! 

 Hubby tried the Cendol Durian which is quite famous in Jonker Street ;)

And the rest of us opt for the normal Cendol ;) 

Did not order any food... not sure if it's halal -_- 

Ingat nak jalan lagi... but Izzaty complained sakit kaki... so we decided to leave Jonker Street after the cendol experience. Wanted to find a good halal nyonya restaurant that serve yummy asam pedas... unfortunately most of the restaurants were either closed or 'kitchen closed' due to bahan mentah dah out of stock... boleh? Aiyaaa.... we ended up balik Merlimau and ate mee bandung prepared by beloved MIL :D There's nothing compared to home cook lah... haha!

Post Project Blues -_-

I have been so exhausted this week... :( Work has been hectic. Had to go to office on Saturday morning 5pm to standby for the FS-HP Contra Auto-disbursement last weekend. Came home by 12 noon but still need to be 'on call' and in-front of my netbook at home to ensure my networks are in order until late night. Sunday pun kena 'on call' lagi! Man... so tiring! *sigh!*

This week, every time my phone extension rings... berdebar2 nak angkat... serious takut kalau ada production problem... huhu! But at the same time, now that the FS-HP Contra Auto-disbursement are implemented.... lega pun ada juga.... dah naik muak buat project yang sangat lah kontraversi nih! :P

Well, life goes on. I have already started on some new projects. Penat aritu pun tak abis lagi dah start new projects... *sigh!*.

Escaping reality for a couple of days is really what I need right now! I can't wait for our Sydney vacation!!!! :P

Meanwhile... enjoy the Aidil Adha break everyone! ;)

Had a strained, stressful week last week! I desperately need to distress myself!! But since Izzat is sitting for the final exam this week, I can't do the usual retail therapy activity to distress myself ;(( Some more, Mr Hubby was in German... :(( 

So I ended up doing 'online' retail therapy :P Well... Izzaty and I have been eyeing for this watch at www.fashionvalet.net quite sometime :) The watch was out of stock before and now available with more colour options ;) Ohhh... Sungguh la alasan nak peghabih duit no.....

Hmmm.... buat muka pulak with her new watch! Kids these days! :P

October Ramble

Banyak sungguh dugaan bulan ni. I am sure all these happened for a reason... so insyaAllah, saya redha -_-

Izzaty is back in Bukit Merbah despite the condition of her leg... but right after the final exam, she's coming home again, insyaAllah. Just wanna make sure the leg will not be doing much work for a while as it is still swollen :( She is staying in the sickbay and everyday she goes to school on a wheelchair. * She is now known as 'Budak Wilcha"... Lol! Tak pe la ye kak long.... wilcha pun wilcha lah! :D * Thanks to all the wardens, teachers, seniors and friends who are kind enough to take care of her!

Izzat? Hmm.... cheeky as ever. He'll be sitting for his final exam next week. Hmmm... 'we' have lots of revision to do... huhu! Ni mama ke izzat yang nak final exam nih? hahaha!

Hubby is busy as always.... now outstation in Germany. For the past few weeks, berapa kali jer dapat jumpa hubby! With izzaty in hospitals and all... hubby outstation to Korea, then to Pahang.. then to Germany. Aduhai...Mama juga lah yang terkejar2 handle everything kat sini.... huhu.. sedey la jugak :((

Work wise, lagi stress! The already-delayed project is again delayed... yet another time! Again... reason being GL still not balanced! :( Am I the only one at fault here?? Hello user GL?! Sapa suruh tak check balancing details dari testing cycle 1!! Bila dah delay... suka2 point fingers pada IT technical tak buat kerja betul2. And he expects me to know accounting balancing as if I have accounting  background! Eh... kalau saya yang check and balanced it... then what is YOUR function in this project??? Eiii... geram nye!!!! Hello?? I am just an IT technical okay! I do programming based on your requirement only.... so don't expect me to do YOUR job! :P Hmm... I have 2 more projects after this with him.... adoiiii, serious nak muntah tenguk muka dia! :P Stress betul tenguk muka 'perasan bagus' pakcik tu! Told my boss I don't want to do anymore project related to GL and I don't want to work with that GL guy! Please get somebody else to do it! And my boss responded "Abis, sape lagi nak buat?" Urghhh.... tekanan perasaan betul! :P

Adam Mukhriz & Ain Hawani

I am sure you guys know what I am going to talk about *grin*

Akibat kebosanan yg melanda hari2 di hospital, I ended up doing 'Adam dan Hawa' marathon *grin*.
I have never watched the series before... So, dah bosan sangat... This is the best time laaa :))

Ohhhh.... I'm so in love with the handsome pilot, Adam Mukhriz :)) and I think Ain Hawani is pretty cute too ;)) And ohhh... Cik Ted is soooo adorable... :))

Are you guys following the series at saluran Astro Mustika HD 134? I guess lepas ni yours truly pun addicted sudah.... Huhu! Ni yang tak syok nih... :P

Am not a big fan of Aaron Aziz... but I definitely love his character as Adam Mukhriz... hehe :D

Many people do not like the idea of Nadiya Nissa as Ain Hawani... but I think she did a pretty good job! Comel ape.... :) Cik Ted kat sebelah tu pun comel :D

Hmm..... Lagi best kalau dapat beli jer novel Aisya Sofea ni! Terus tau ending... haha! :D

* Sejak bila pulak berminat nak baca Malay novel ni?? hahaha! *

P/S : I bet lepas ni sure ramai nak letak nama anak Adam Mukhriz... Or Ain Hawani ;) Jgn buh nama Cik Ted udah le yeee... LoL! :D

Duu..gaa..ann! :((

Izzaty's leg got swollen real bad... I got worried and asked around. Everybody said it's normal. The cut has been stitched, she got her antibiotic pails ( lotsss of them! ) and pain killer pills... So I thought there was no reason to see a doctor so I just let her be. HUGE mistake!!!

By Thursday, her pain killer was out of stock... I was at the office.... So she requested her uncle to go buy some at the pharmacy. Thanks god I called my bro-in-law on time! They were on their way to a pharmacy... I told him to bring Izzaty to Pusat Perubatan Aniza instead and immediately after that I called my dear friend, Dr Aniza to notify her that my daughter was on her way and requested the nice doctor to check if the swollen on Izzaty's leg was normal. A few minutes later, Dr Aniza called me back. "Very bad lah. Dah kena infection teruk! No wonder she is on so much pain! Nanah memancut2 keluar ni!" My heart sank :(( Dr Aniza told me to bring Izzaty to a specialist immediately. But I don't have a transport!! My earliest bus is at 6pm! Sedikit panic for a while... But after a while baru boleh pikir a solution. Asked Zamri to bring Izzaty to Damansara Specialist...  But on his way.. To pick me up at Sg Buloh R&R (NKVE highway) and my colleague, Tda volunteered to send me to Sg Buloh! Thanks Tda !! Love you so much girlfriend!! 

Reached KPJ Damansara Specialist around 4pm. When the on-duty doctor see her leg he was like "Ini siapa jahit macam ini? Klinik mana?" When I told him Hospital Besar Tunku Jaafar Seremban, he gave me a surprised look. I wondered why. An orthopaedic was immediately called to check Izzaty's leg. Again.. The same question "Hospital mana jahit ni? Sekarang tak guna this old method of stitching lagi ni" Oh dear... Can't comment much la... Huhu! Dr Gan, the orthopaedic was concerned when Izzaty can't move her 4th and 5th toes so he told me that Izzaty will have to go through an operation to explore if there is any tendon cut. What?? I did not expect it to be that bad?! Macam mimpi... I signed all the necessary operation forms. Oh ayah... Kenapa la masa ni ayah ke Korea :(( thanks god, my bro in law is around to take care of Izzat...

Operation was on Friday morning. Of course mama cannot join her in the OT... Dok kat luar jer lah. After the operation, Dr Gan confirmed that one tendon completely putus... And another one sudah loose. No wonder Izzaty could not move her 4th and 5th toes! And what surprised me more... The doctor told me the wound was not cleaned properly before Hospital Seremban stitched the cut... There was even debris inside!! What???!!! Sedikit kecewa dgn Hospital Seremban... Kalau yer pun emergency, they should at least clean the wound first... Adoii!! :(( geram pun ada!!! Pfttt!!!

Mama cannot enter the OT... Just waited outside - praying that she would be okay.

Should I make a formal complain against Hospital Besar Tunku Jaafar, Seremban?? Most of my friends said I should... Tapi entahlaaa... Malas nak buat semua tu... Am just glad Izzaty is in good hand now. Her leg is still swollen due to infection but getting much, much better. Dr Gan keeps saying "you should have sent her here earlier!" Errkk.... Seriously doc... I didn't know it was that bad... :((

The nurses are all nice!! Thanks to all warga KPJ Damansara Specialist for taking care of my daughter! :)

So here we are... 5th day at Damansara Specialist Hospital... Praying very hard for izzaty's speedy recovery so that she would be able to sit for her final exam next week, mama can continue working... And our life back to normal again... Huhu! Izzat kat rumah will be handled by Ayah and Uncle Ee. Thanks god ayah is home on Friday eve!! And thanks god, Zamri is around to help....

 

Her leg looks better on 5th day! Alhamdulillah....
