Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor Lecture Series

The Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor Lecture Series is an anuual series of lectures organized by the Malay Girls' College / Tunku Kurshiah College Old Girls Association. Each lecture will be presented by an invited speaker who is a distinguished 'old girl' of the MGC/TKC. The lecture series is named in honour of, and launched today by, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, who is also an 'old girl' of Tunku Kurshiah College.

Of course I was there to watch this special event :) Took one day leave just for this occasion :P

Hmm.... well, not really :P

Another reason why I had to take leave was to visit my sister, Dr Na who was hospitalized at Kajang KPJ Specialist Hospital, after an operation to remove some fibroids (kebetulan it was her birthday - aiyoo... why la chose your birthday to do this operation sis :P ). Alhamdulillah, she was getting better. By 10:15am, I left the hospital for Putrajaya. Luckily Kajang to Putrajaya is just a few mins away :)

Was quite early arriving in Putrajaya, pusing2 cari OGA Building around Jalan Diplomatik, Petrojaya ni (Been here a few times! Tapi masih tak hafal jalan... huhu!) Then I saw this banner. Ohh... there you are! :D

After registration (saw my name was under table 'Mawar'), since I was still early.... sempat lah jalan2 area dining tu to take pics :)

For this first DPSRM lecture Series, the lecture was presented by the distinguished Professor Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman (batch 7580). The title of her lecture is 'Needlessly Dying : The Twin Epidemics of HIV and Substance Abuse in Malaysia'. Sounds so serious kan? But I must say it is quite an interesting topic! It is sad to accept the fact that most Malaysians who were involved in drug abused are Malays :(

My tablemate for this event - Kak Ajue :) I was so glad and happy to have a familiar face sharing the same table for lunch. Kak Ajue dear... we had so much fun, kan? :)

There was a fashion show during lunch. Some OGA girls were modeling clothes designed by our very own designer, Kak Ita (if I am not mistaken) -

Kak Fuziah modeling one of the 'OGA look' fashion collections... Hmm.... nice design. Siap ada batch OGA tu.... tapi tak gamak lah nak pakai... takut kena kutuk with those friends of mine yang 'anti-tkc'.... alaaa... diorang tu jealous kan?! :P

Left Putrajaya around 3pm.. siap tapau a few lauk.. hik hik!! :D The lauks are for my mom who I left at Kajang KPJ Hospital with my sister, Na. Kesian dia tau... tak makan nasi lagi. Left Kajang by 4pm. On the way back, dropped by at my eldest sis' house in Sri Damansara as my mom wanted to pickup 'something'. Got the chance to lepak2 for a while with my bujang college-going-nephews - Ashraf and Farhan :)

Such a wonderful day I had today.... *bliss*

Can't wait till this Sunday... another OGA event - The long awaited OGA Day!! Woohoo!!!! I am soooooo looking forward to meeting the girls again!! Can't wait!! :D

Mama menemankan anak2 ke sekolah for this occasion. Did not buy as many coupons as last year. Did not even stay long at the school... Just enough time to watch Izzaty's first ever flute performance!! :)

Sempat lah stay to watch the forth performance by Year 5 students... The girls are so lemah gemalai! I like this performance! :)

We went home today with 3 packs of laksa :) Tak de la sedap sangat laksa tu... tapi boleh laaa.... huhu! Niat kami just membeli sambil menderma... ;) Good job warga SKBB!! Semoga dapat kumpul more than enough money to buy more books for the school library!! :)

A letter from His Royal Highness :)

I remember years ago, watching the grand wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana on TV. It was such a grand wedding.... and being a kid, I remember sitting in front of the TV... melopong tenguk the grand royal wedding :D

This year, their son, Prince William is getting married!! To the beautiful Kate Middleton! Another grand wedding - the wedding of the year to be expected!!! :)

I dunno what gave hubby this idea... but he decided to send a card to congratulate Prince William and his bride-to-be :) So, we bought a card and signed it.... and send it to UK! :)

Siap gambar kami lagi tu... hik hik! Sungguh over kan? ahak!

Alaaa... ingatkan Prince William and Kate Middleton akan sign sendiri... huhu!

Anyway, congratulations to the royal couple. Am so looking forward to watch the wedding of a lifetime when the live broadcast of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s marriage is broadcast on TV :)

A beautiful and multi-talented doctor ♥

A few days ago, I got a message from a good friend of mine, Dr Aniza.

Courageous mom?? wahh.... am so flattered with this new 'endearment'... haha! Anyway, I was so excited for her and could not wait to buy the magazine!!

Today, on the way to a meeting in Bangsar, I bought this magazine...

And there she is!!! Our beautiful and multi-talented doctor, Dr Aniza Ali :)

Congratulations my dear friend!! I really, really admire your courage, strength and determination to achieve and to be where you are today!! I am so proud of you!!

For those who know the doctor well, they might heard that Dr Aniza was once diagnosed with breast cancel (level 1) but alhamdulillah, with support from her beloved husband, family and friends, she managed to fight off the disease. I've known her since she was a medic student and married to hubby's friend. Yeap... she has been a long way! From a small clinic, now she has the biggest medical center in Bukit Beruntung/Bukit Sentosa area :) She's like 'kecil, kecil cili api' you see.... a very petit, beautiful lady, yet very good in her job as a doctor as well as handling her medical center. She's also a wonderful wife and mother of 3 handsome boys :) She had won a few prestigious awards and this is NOT the first time she is featured in magazines or newspapers! Glamour you doktor sorang nih! ;)

Semoga Dr Aniza terus berjaya dan diberkati Allah dunia dan akhirat...

Been such a draining week!!

Am so nervous waiting for my current project UAT next week. The project manager is really getting on my nerve!!! :P Talking about projects, I love a brand new project where I have to build everything from A to Z. But an enhancement to an existing project - that's a different story! If I know the existing system pretty well... then, no problem! But if it's like an alien to me.... duh, I HATE! :P

The Puduraya bus station will re-open tomorrow. Am wondering how my new bus schedule would be like starting next week...

I am planning to attend the OGA April luncheon at Putrajaya on the 29th and the long-awaited annual OGA Day on 1st May at our old school in Seremban. Was told that this would be the last year OGA Day to be held in Bukit Merbah as by next year, our old school will be transferred to Bandar Enstek, Nilai. Told hubby about my plan last night and he complained that I had been going to lots of 'reunion' activities lately. Okay okay..... note to myself - AFTER 1st May, have to slow down a bit on those 'reunion' activities especially on weekends :P *taking a deep breath - sigh!*

Thanks god! OGA luncheons are on Fridays!! Friday is not weekend, right? *wink*

Hmph! This is an absolute nonsense/rambling post! :P

Am just glad that it's already Friday.... :)

Spelling bee & a new handbag :)

Izzaty managed to be in the final and got 6th place out of 45 students during the Spelling Bee competition. Syukur alhamdulillah... walaupun tak dapat top 3... that is quite an accomplishment! Am so proud of you girl! *muah!*

Sad to say though... her previous exam result sedikit merosot.... aiyoooo..... :( Lepas ni sibuk ngan pidato practice pulak ya? :P Then, volley ball competition pulak. Busynya anakanda mama sorang ni... dia tau tak agaknya mama dia dah start risau nih??! :P

And ohhh... mama got a new handbag!! :) A colleague's boyfriend came back from US and I ordered a coach black leather handbag from him :) suker! suker! suker! *amboi, kalau bab menghabis duit nih mmg lah suker!* :P

Izzaty yang sibuk...

My daughter, Izzaty has been very busy lately.

A few weeks back she was involved in a pertandingan bercerita... tetapi kalah.... huhuhu!

Next Tuesday, she has a spelling competition.

Then, on Thursday, she has pertandingan pidato pulak...

And in between those activities... she has to find time to practice her flute for a performance during her school Hari Kantin on the 24th of April.

Considering she just learned flute for a few months... boleh ke agaknya dia buat performance tu??? Let's hear her early attempt on the song that she's gonna play for the performance...




Hmmm... boleh la kot kan?? Still got time to improve herself for the performance... :)

To My Dear Girl,
I know you enjoy getting busy in all those activities... but I do hope you remember your responsibility to study for the coming UPSR and PSRA. *Mama yang berdebo nih... huhu!*

An eventful weekend

On Saturday, Izzaty had to attend a one-day UPSR seminar in Batang Kali... about 30 mins drive from our place. Malas nak drive 2 times ke sana... we made a plan - I sent 3 kids to the seminar, and another parent would fetch them back late in the eve - phew, lega sket :)

As for Izzat, he was not well on Saturday morning, but got better in the evening. He had to get better real fast cause he had a taekwando grading test on Sunday morning!

Sunday morning was most busy! Izzat got a taekwando grading test, and Izzaty had a pertandingan tilwah Al Quran (I did not know that until Saturday night! My mom registered her name for the competition without informing us.. adoi aii... nasib baik lah tak buat plan lain pagi tu!) So terpaksa lah Izzaty ponteng taekwando class again (semalam pergi seminar pun dah ponteng... adoiiii she aaaaa... asyik ponteng aje! :P).

Anyway, mama went to see Izzat for his grading test. As usual, jadi paparazi (or shall I say 'mamarazi'??) yang tak bertauliah :D

As for Izzaty in the Majlis Tilawah Al Quran competition... she got 4th place! Dapat la hadiah saguhati - jadi laaaa.... alhamdulillah! Am proud of you too *muah!* ♥
