Merdeka Weekend

I was suppose to help Izzaty on her Sivic Scrap book project entitled "Keunikan Malaysia: Warisan Pakaian dan Makanan Tradisional". But I was really, really busy the whole week... can't really find the time to help her!!! So she had no choice but to do her own research.... tapi cam tak leh harap je... aduhai... atau mama dia yang under estimate the girl?? Anyway, since it's a long Merdeka weekend (happy 52nd birthday my beloved country!!)... mommy and daughter would have quality time together finishing the scrap book... hehe :)

So engrossed doing research and googling for nice pics for the scrap book on Saturday... my hubby and son complained keboringan pulak! So on Sunday, we decided to go out!! Woohoo... shopping for raya!! :) Aikk?? Bukan ke dah abis shopping raya kat Bandung itu hari?? hehee... biasa lah kan... suka aje nak shopping :) Anyway, I got Metro Jaya and I-Setan vouchers to be spent.... a good reason to go shopping! :) Where else that have both Metro Jaya and I-Setan.... Sungei Wang!!! :) Mula2 tu agak suspense.. takut the kids keletihan berjalan2 bulan puasa ni.. esp si Izzat. But alhamdulillah... it wasn't so bad lah.... he complained letih, yes.... but not so bad lah.... good boy!! :) So now... we are officially done with raya shopping!! (oh yeah?? Hmm... I guess I'll have to think of another 'creative' reason if I feel like going shopping this Ramadhan.. huhu!)

Oohhh... and yours truly finally got her birthday gift from hubby!! :) When he asked what I want for my birthday present.... I wanted to say "Coach purse!!!"... hehe.... saja ja kan? :) Well, I need a new purse to match with my new coach handbag what! :P But I've already surveyed the coach boutique at the Garden last Friday..... makkk aiii.... paling murah pun around RM500++... tak sampai hati makcik nak habaq kat darling sorang tu... huhu. He could buy for me.. I know.... Tapi mengenangkan we have one family vacation scheduled this coming November (where to? aaa... masih rahsia okay?! even the kids tak tau lagi.. hehe!) and another trip next February (this one no longger a secret... semua orang dah tau... to Hong Kong together with my mom, my parents in law, my sister and her family). Emm... we need to save $$$ for those trips kan? So... tak pe la ... dapat hadiah yang murah2 pun jadi lah Yang... :) I ended up choosing a sling bag from ELLE. Rugged... and very reasonable price.. I like :) Boleh la pakai during our vacations nanti.... :)


Monday... intensive la siapkan the scrap book. Alhamdulillah.... finished at around 10pm!! Phew lega!! Tapi the scrap book belum bind lagi! let the teacher check dulu lah.. later baru bind. Hope the teacher approved it :)

Life this Ramadhan..

Life has been so hectic for me this week. I have 3 UATs in progress (1 successfully completed as at today and another 2 in progress) and at the same time am doing the development for a new project (not to forget ada satu lagi project pending belum start :P)... giler punya multi tasking!! I am officially the busiest 'coolie' in the office at the moment!! :P

This Ramadhan, my department introduced staggered hour... I opt for the earliest hour... masuk 8am balik at 4.30pm. So basically, I woke up for sahur around 5am - 5.15am (tenguk tahap kengantukan ku.. hehe!)... I don't eat much pun masa sahur... just 1 or 2 kurma and a cup of plain water... that's it!)... then layan the kids bersahur a bit.. (so that depa tak mengantuk!)... then terus mandi. If belum masuk waktu Subuh... then can ngaji a bit la... after solat subuh terus get ready to work! Keluar rumah around 6.30am... then reached office around 7.05... phew, jalan tak jam... seronok!! :) Tapi kereta boleh tahan banyak pagi2 tu! Rupanya ramai orang lagi pagi dari myself :) Lagi satu.. never in my life before dapat 20% discount on toll.... this Ramadhan... dapat you! :) Save lah 50sens per trip tiap2 pagi... alhamdulillah :)

Anyway, I am sooooo tired! Me... yang tak boleh idup kalau tak cukup tido ni... boleh survive ke tak tidur lepas sahur the whole Ramadhan?? Ingatkan boleh la balik awal at 4.30pm kan.. tapi kerja banyak youuu... !! For the past few days ni.. belum lagi merasa balik 4.30pm :P Asyik balik sekali ngan the others je at 5.15pm (lunch hour for the moslem has been cut to 30 mins.. so boleh la balik 30mins earlier than normal working hours). And as expected... the queue to get out of the parking basement..... MY GOD!!! About 15 minutes jugak lah... baru dapat keluar dari basement!! Tu pun my car is parked at basement 3... I cannot imagine how long it would take those yang parking at basement 4 or 5! And the traffic in KL at that hour.... the very the bad!!! :P Sampai rumah around 6.35++pm.... okay lah... alhamdulillah....

Malam??? Like the past 3 years... I choose to do terawih prayer at home so that I can make sure the kids are doing the Kumon and school homework. Tak check pun their homework... just making sure they DO do their homework. Knowing them... if dibiarkan aje... takut dapat call dari Ms Jaya pulak nanti.... "Puan Runiza... your kids did not complete their homework!" :P

Anyway, to do terawih in peace at home is not that easy.. in fact, sangat, sangat mencabar!!!! I tell you!!! Tengah solat nanti.. ada je kedengaran kakak dan adik bergaduh laa... bergurau senda laa... .. Ishhh... ada je lah!! Mengganggu kusyuk solat ku!! Most of the time cannot do the 8 rakaat straight back to back... sure stop kejap2... coz the kids will wait till my salam tahiyat akhir and mula lah..

"Mama... camana buat soalan ni??"

"Mama... "chimney" tu apa??"

"Mama... Izzat tak de eraser!"

"Ma... kak long ni cari gaduh..."

And the list goes on!! Naik fening gak la mama ni kekadang.

Tapi malam tadi dah hilang sabar kejap... maklum lah.. dah dekat hujung minggu ni... mama sorang ni dah extremely penat.... apa lagi.. menyinga lah kan..

"BOLEH TAK BAGI PELUANG MAMA HABISKAN DULU SOLAT TERAWIH MAMA NI??"

Surprisingly, diam pulak diorang lepas tu... The kakak and adik could even sit on the same small table to do their homework together. Big sis teaching 'lil bro those vocabs that he didn't know (or probably forgotten.. walau pun dah berapa kali ajar!). Haaaaa.... boleh pun!! Aman sket mama nak solat!! :)

BUT....... throughout the busy week... something very, very nice came up! I got my new handbag that I ordered from Farina!!! Woohoo!!!! My first ever designer handbag - A Coach totebag!! Tenguk gambar ni... cantik tak???

1st Ramadhan.. my 39th b'day!

It was first Ramadhan last Saturday... thank you Allah for giving me the chance to celebrate another Ramadhan... syukur alhamdulillah! It was also my 39th birthday... woo hoo!! :) The last of my 3series year! :) Next year dah upgrade masuk 4series! :P Anyway, early in the morning I was awaken by my kids who wanted to give me these....

Aww..... kids... you guys are great!!! Mama loves you!!! Sangat2 terharu especially ngan Izzat... first time dia bagi mama hadiah! Bibik cerita... siap bawa bekal from home everyday nak save money to buy mama those presents.... aduhaiii... sayanggggg anak2 mama *hugs!* And hubby gave me this lovely card....No present laa... :P Was suppose to chose my own present today.... huhu! Kan bagus kalau dia surprise kan I with a nice present like a coach handbag ka... kereta BMW sebijik ka... cincin white gold ka... hik hik :D

Okaylah... the plan was to go back to Melaka to buka puasa with the rest of my in-law's family on 1st Ramadhan! At first we wanted to invite both side of the family to buka puasa together (like the previous years)... tapi rupa2nya ibuku sudah buat plan with my eldest sis (ooo... korang plan diam2 je ye! :P) to buat majlis buka puasa at Along's house. And since hubby's youngest brother, Zamri is in Malaysia.. hubby wanted to buka puasa with his family... so since that plan tak jadi... tukar plan pulak! Instead of inviting others to come to our place... we planned to go balik kampung... and all hubby's brothers and sister agreed with the plan... so... about 9am... we left for Melaka.

Sampai Melaka... ingat nak shopping for my birthday gift dulu.. tapi Izzat pulak buat hal.... al maklum lah first day berpuasa.... penat la tu kot... understoodlaa..... so tak jadi... balik terus to my in-law's... ish ish.. izzat ni.... :P

It was raining when we arrived in Melaka... so sejuk la sket bandaraya bersejarah yang selalunya panas nih! Alhamdulillah! And we were the first to arrive at rumah Nenek and Atuk... (as usual!) So selepas berehat2.... ke dapur lah saya dan bibik... menolong menyediakan apa2 yang patut for berbuka puasa. Kak Eina and family came back around 3pm... with brother Zali. In the evening... all the kids and Zamri follow Hubby to the Merlimau small town... beli toothbrush yg lupo makcik nak bawak! and some other stuff and jajan for the kids! Balik2... tenguk2 ada sekotak kek untuk birthday girl (err.. or was it old lady?? :P). Aww.... malunyee... dah tua2 pun nak celebrate ke?? Malu pulak rasa ngan niece and nephews yang comel2 tu :D

Berbuka puasa memang meriah!! First day puasa kan... si Ilhan (Kak Eina's youngest) dah menangis2 tanya "bila boleh buka puasa nih???"... hehe... faham2 je lah budak2 kan... :) Bila kedengaran azan dari masjid Kampung Sempang Pantai tu... whoaa.. berebut lah minum air bandung special nenek! Seronok tenguk ragam masing2 bila berbuka puasa... and right on time (seperti tahun2 yang lepas).. si Hamzah and family pun sampai a few minutes after kami berbuka.... And as penutup berbuka.... haaa... majlis tiup2 lilin (masyaAllah.. tak cukup lilin dah nak letak atas kek tu *LOL!*)

My birthday cake... huhu... tersangatlah pink nya! Was told that's the only cake available kat kedai kek Merlimau tu... hehe.. jadi leee... alhamdulillah :)

So alhamdulillah.... syukur nikmat Allah kerana memberi peluang kami berkumpul untuk berbuka puasa beramai2 begini. Terkilan tak dapat berbuka dengan my own family at Along's place.... tapi takpe lah... di Melaka pun tak kurang hebat meriahnya :)

Pre Ramadhan & Pre Birthday celebration!

Okay, okay... it's the last day of Syaaban... which means tomorrow is the beginning of Ramadhan (22nd August okay... very, very important date - my birthday!! *hint! hint!*). So as usual... my colleagues and I planned our pre-ramadhan menu.. hehe... maklum laa.. esok start puasa... :D Teruk betul kitorang kan? *sigh!*.

For breakfast... I ate roti canai (dah lama tak pekena roti canai babe!!) and my favourite cekodok RM1 from the office hawkers center. Belum habis lagi makan breakfast... we were already discussing what to have for lunch?! LOL! Pre Ramadhan okay... the topic is FOOD, FOOD and more FOOD!! :P We ended up going to Ikan Bakar Jalan Belami (located somewhere behind Istana Negara). 5 people in June's MyVi... sesak.. tapi tak kira! Semua nak ikut! hahaha! We went out early (with boss' permission of course!) but the place was already full! Having caught sight of my delicious prey, I quickly grabbed one ikan keli bakar (before habis orang lain kebas! hehe!) and one sotong bakar!! Hmmm.. yummy!! No rice okay.... sebab masih kekenyangan makan roti canai and cekodok this morning! But my friends' said " uishhh... tak best la makan ikan bakar tak dak nasi!!"! Two of them even took 2 types of ikan bakar plus sotong bakar!! Over tak? Tsk tsk... tak tau nak kata apa... sampai kakak yang ambil harga tu terkezutttt... tapi cakap "tak pe lah.. esok puasa kan?" Pandai dia cover line for us! LOL!

The price that I had to pay? The fish and squid + lime juice.... kena RM17!! Mahal, eh?? But it was worth it! The fish and squid were fresh and tasty!! Dipping it into the superb sour chilli sauce and kicap cili made it even better!! :)

But we did not stop there okay.... right after leaving Jalan Belamy we headed to Petronas Bangsar.... ada mamak jual rojak/cendol kat tepi tu.... yeap... time for dessert... cendol!!! :D Memang over... kah kah! Ni betul2 pre Ramadhan nih... LOL! :D

Ahhh... satu kepuasan dapat pekena cendol mamak nih! :)

Oh ya... before I forgot.... I have to share this! Today, I met Nazim, my ex-primary school friend at SK Batu Kikir (I was schooling at SKBK for 3 years before transfering to SRKDI during my primary 5 year! And yeap.... as usual the jejak kasih happened via facebook :) ). And his parents were good friends of my parents too! Nazim is an ustad now after graduated from Jordon. He just came back from Umrah a few days ago (he works as 'mutawif' who brought and assist people going for umrah and hajj) ... so I just left message for him in FB saying "Jim! (his nickname in SKBK) Nak kurma Mokah!" I was just kidding of course.... but he send me a message saying nak hantar kurma tu today... whoaaa.... malu makcik you!! So today I met him after like.... 29 years!!! Phew!! Lamanya tak jumpa dia!!! Malu lak rasa jumpa ustad tu.. kih kih! :) Tapi ye lah... childhood friend kan..... kejap je malunye... hehehe :D Alhamdulillah..... seronok dapat jumpa gang lama nih :) He gave me these....... (as birthday gift la gitu!)

"Thanks Jim!! Malu den kek kau!! Ekau koba ciput yo kurma tu... tapi den nenguk... banyak tuuu!! Sogan boto den mo kau!!! huhu....."

About 3pm... after my Dzuhur prayer... as usual... Kak Sal came to our office. Kak Sal ni selalu memeriahkan birthday anyone at the office with cakes.... :) So.. seperti tahun2 yang lepas... she came down to our office with a box of cake!! This time it was to celebrate the August birthday dude/babes - Fong (14th Aug), Siti Norhanna (18th Aug), Faizal @ Bujal (21st Aug - today!) and yours truly (22nd Aug... esok le tu!) :) Awww... Kak Sal.... terharu sesangat!!! *muah!*

What a beautiful day to start with a beautiful month of Ramadhan!! :) Harapanku agar Ramadhan kali ini amalanku bertambah dari amalan2 Ramadhan sebelum ini... Aamin... :)

Our first 'CS' guest & Izzaty's first TKD tournament

Last Friday I had 2 passengers in my car during my journey from office back home... my youngest bro-in-law, Zamri and our special guest for the weekend - Yi (remember I told you guys about him during our visit to Kak Elma's house last weekend - click here ). So Yi was our first 'CS' guest :) The plan was.. hubby was to send my mother in law (and bro in law & Yi tagging along) back to Malacca on Saturday morning... and later fetch bibik from LCCT who would be coming back from Indon!. But I guess... as a humble human being.. we could only plan... and Allah would decide the rest... Yi was not feeling well.... (he told me that he had not been well for a few days before coming to our house... and had checked the H1N1 status on the day before at Hospital Besar, KL... negative.. alhamdulillah!). He looked so terrible on Saturday morning.. that hubby decided to postpone the Malacca trip.... aiyaaa!!! Major change of plan... he had to send Yi to hospital besar on Saturday morning... and after 4 hours of hospitalization (to check if it was dengue... fortunately negative!) had to fetch him again all the way in KL from our home (FYI it's about 40++ km!). We let him rest in Bibik's room since Bibik was not around. Yi could not even eat anything..... poor little boy! So I had to prepare porridge for him. MIL prepared delicious crab soup for all of us on Saturday night! Woo hoo!!! :)

On Sunday morning... he looked and felt much, much better... alhamdulillah! So he decided to follow hubby and the gang to Malacca afterall! :) Yi was quite an interesting fellow. Like I told you guys in the previous posting... he is majoring in Arabic language.... how cool is that? :) He can even recite Al Fatihah which he did upon my request... and made both my mom and mother in law (and all of us!!) impressed! Quite cute! I should have recorded him doing it!! Rugi.. rugi!! :)

Got better on Sunday morning... so off to Melaka they went!

Also on Sunday morning was Izzaty's first taekwando tournament! When she told me that she wanted to join the tournament... I was a bit agitated... coz I wasn't sure she would be tough enough to endure the pain during the sparring competition! But she insisted to join the tournament! So okay... I told her to be prepared of anything that would happened! After all, this would her first tournament ever.... it would probably good for her life experience! :) It was actually a 'Sambutan Hari Kemerdekaan 1 Malaysia - kali ke 52" celebration for our area! So lots of commotion going on at that area when I sent Izzaty to that place! This competition was also joined by other taekwando centers from Kepong, Bandar Baru Selayang, Kuala Kubu and Subang Jaya.

I had to leave early... coz since hubby went back to Malacca.. the responsibility of fetching bibik from LCCT was now mine :P Somehow, I managed to see Izzaty in action during the pattern competition. So proud to see her doing her best in this competition. Sungguh bersemangat! Way to go girl!!! :) Kebetulan.. I was standing right behind one of the judges.. and managed to 'jenguk' the points for all the participants.... Izzaty punya points quite high... alhamdulillah! But that's only one of the them.. ada 2 judges kalau tak silap... hehe. Kepochee punya mama! hehee...:) I did not get the chance to stay to know the final result coz I really need to rush to LCCT by 11pm (it was already 10.50am!) And I told Izzaty to stay there with Sir Nordin's team until I came back from LCCT cause nobody's at home till then!! So bergegas2 la getting ready to go to LCCT.... !!! Dah lambat max by then!!! :P

On my way to LCCT, Izzaty SMSed me to inform that she got gold medal in the pattern competition... woo hoo!!! Good job girl!!! :)

And about a few minutes later, I received a call from Zaza (Sir Nordin's wifey) :

Zaza : You kat mana now?

Me : On the way to LCCT. Why? Izzaty dah habis ke??

Zaza : Dia baru je habis sparring. Dasyat lah dia... ganas giler!! *gelak-gelak!* Sampai nangis dia keja kan budak tu!! *gelak lagi*

Me : Really?? Ganas sangat ke? Nangis budak tu? Biar betul!!!(^*(#%!!

Zaza : Tu laa... dia menang first round lah... nanti ada next round...

Me : Alaa.. rugi la tak dapat tenguk... you ambil la gambar banyak2 Zaza!!......


Hmphh.... Ganas?? Somehow it wasn't a surprise lah... I always knew that Izzaty is a bit ganas for a girl! Tenguk mama dia lah! LOL!! :D Tapi sampai nangis budak tu?? Tsk tsk... no comment lah... heroin kampung betul anak ku ini!! :D

A few minutes later (still on my way to LCCT) Izzaty called me excitedly to tell that she won silver medal in the sparring competition. She lost to her own friend, Yaya (see above picture). Whoaaaa..... Not bad lah!! We did not expect that, eh girl? I remembered telling her that morning not to expect anything but just to gain experience in her very first TKD tournament... but 2 medals?? wow... you made me so proud lah!!! hehe.... memang heroin kampungku!! :) I got so excited that I immediately called hubby who was already in Malacca... "You tau.... Anak you menang 2 medal kat tournament tadi??"... and as expected... ayah pun terkezut!! Sungguh tak sangka!! hehee.... :)

We finally reached LCCT right on time (alhamdulillah). Waited just for a few minutes for bibik to came out from the arrival hall... then rushed (speeding sket lah sebab nak cepat!) back home to fetch Izzaty. It was raining cats and dogs... really2 lebat on our way home... lagi lah I risaukan Izzaty kat tempat tu! When I reached that place... the tournament was still going on. Sempat la tenguk Sir Nordin's first son, Hafizudin beraksi dalam sparring. Wow... he's really good... I mean, really, really GOOD!!! :) His side kick sangat2 tinggi dan cantik!! Bapa borek anak rintik nih!! :) Congratulations to Sir Nordin (and wifey Zaza!)... bukan saja anak dia menang... tapi ramai anak2 didiknya yang menang dapat medal in today's competition!! (termasuklah Izzaty!).

It was a good day indeed... tapi sangat2 penat... *sigh!*.

The kids got monthly exam tomorrow (Sekolah Kebangsaan and KAFA).... aduhai... cukup kah preparation? Tawakal aje lah... insyaAllah boleh.... Aamin...

First 39th bday gift! (advance)

This is from my friend of 29 years - Zita!! Got it during the SRKDIan reunion last Sunday. Zita and I usually celebrate our birthdays together (mine in August and hers in November).. but this year since my birthday falls on 1st Ramadhan... terpaksa lah dibatalkan program tu.... tak pe laaa.. janji dapat birthday gift!! Love you babe!!! :)

Very, very busy weekend! Part 2

Sunday 9th August

Sunday was another busy, busy day! Around 10am we went to Kak Elma's house. Kak Elma is someone hubby got to know when he starts berjinak-jinak in the 'Couch Surfing'. She is sooo nice and actively involved in the Couch Surfing (CS) activites... you should see her in this website... so cool!! :) CS is a group of nice people who offered a place to live for travellers all over the world. They don't necessarily offered beds or rooms... just their floor and roof... so it's really up to the travellers to make the best of the place.. and it is for FOC! Isn't that cool? :)

When we arrived at her house... there was a Chinese boy who was couch-surfing at her place... his name is Yin from Shanghai and a student who's studying Arabic! Wow... quite impressive lah this Yin... he even gave 'salam' to us... and later thanked us with "shukran"... haha! Terkojut makcik!! Been trying to learn Arabic for years zaman sekolah dulu.. giler susah! And this chinese boy managed to do it??? :P

Too bad I cannot stay long... or I'd be meeting more of the Malaysian CS gang!! But I had to rush to Putrajaya for a reunion (yeap... I know... I know... so many reunion lately :P)... SRKDian 82 (my primary school) reunion at Putrajaya IOI Palm Resort!!! :) I was sooooo looking forward to this meeting!! Al Maklumlah... most of them dah 27 years tak jumpa you!! Yin decided to follow me to Putrajaya as he'd like to see Putrajaya! So the 2 of us got into my small MyVi and vrooom to Putrajaya. The thing is... I really am not familiar on how to go to Putrajaya... hahaha! So sesat barat giler lah! Kesian si Yin.... terpaksa lah melayan I mencari jalan (we was soooo sesat.. I tell you! And my handphone tiba2 battery kong.... so GPS cannot help!! arghhh!!!). The reunion starts at 12noon.... tapi I reached there about 1.45pm. Somehow I managed to drop Yin at Putrajaya town (somewhere near the beautiful mosque)... so alhamdulillah... sampai jugak akhirnya ke Putrajaya!! And I had a blast time!!!! Kecoh gila Palm Garden tu we all gegarkan!! hehee! Thank you old friends!!! You guys rock!!!! I felt like a 12 years old girl again.. !!
