Dinner with KC friends

Heard the news that Ain and Kak Safiah are in KL for a short vacation. Those who had been reading my blog may remember that Ain is a friend who is staying in Chicago. Kak Safiah on the other hand is staying in Kansas City ( I miss KC!!! :P ). I knew both of them would be having a very tight schedule while they are here...  and I myself am super busy these few weeks. But when KA messaged me to ask if I could join her with those 2 US ladies for dinner in KLCC, I just could not say no. After all, it's not easy to meet these 2 friends of mine! And alhamdulillah, dipermudahkan, my testing finished earlier than expected that day. Green light was given by Mr Hubby... So off to Madame Kwan KLCC after work yesterday...

Bumping into old friends

Nothing beats the surprise of casually bumping into old friends on an ordinary work day in the office building :)

A few weeks ago, I was on my way out for lunch after a meeting, when a lady who looked so familiar walked passed me at the Dataran Maybank Tower A lobby. The lady also turned her head twice seeing me :D So okay… obviously she also thought I looked familiar eh? It took me a while to register who she is.. and when I did, I was like "Eh, Alus kan?" And she nodded her head happily. Oh wow, it had been decades! I have known Alus during my study days in the States. She was studying in Iowa State University in Ames and I would usually lepak at her place when I visited Ames :)) She and Nani were housemates and we ( the students from Kansas City ) were their frequent visitors :) And I had not meet her since I graduated in 1994 and left the States.

Apparently Alus works with a software company and her office is in UOA building which is right beside Dataran Maybank. Okehh…. nanti boleh dating lunch sama ya! :D

Another old friend whom I bumped into during my lunch hour was Tinit. Well, this one was not exactly a surprise meeting laaa as I already knew that Tinit works with Maybank Etiqa and based in Dataran Maybank. But Tinit is a big boss now and it's actually not easy to bump into her. So I guess, rezeki kami berjumpa that day… 

Tinit and I used to be housemates in a rented apartment in Kampung Baru before I moved out when I got married :)

I also bumped into Woody @ Bahri, my senior during ITM days. This one tak boleh wefie lah kan… laki orang… hahaha! But it was great meeting him again. Still friendly and talkative as ever! You can never be bored with this one… ada jer celotehnya :D

A Black and Silver night

 Last Saturday, I dressed myself in the sleekiest black dress I have (yeah right, I actually only have one black dress or rather jubah lol!) and the shimmerest silver tudung I have (not so shimmering laaa but I bought that tudung esp for this event!) to attend TKC OGA Biennial Dinner 2016.

Was ready by 5.15pm - siap makeup artist to makeup me Lol! Had to attend a short briefing for registration procedure and by 6pm, the registration counter was ready to welcome the old girls for this event ;)

This year we have the highest attendance of members; more than 40 tables have been taken up, compared to the usual 20s - probably Abang Nuar is the magnet puller :D

Wanted soooo much to selfie with the man himself.... Tried my best to menyelit nak bergambo dgn AZ... Tapi the shy part of me x sanggup berebut2 serbu him lol! But to my annoyance, Hani O yg lagu Anuar Zain pun tatau (other than lagu kain pelikat :P) dapat selfie with Anuar Zain!

8 of us bunked in 2 attached rooms in Shangrila Hotel - yours truly, Wewe, Germ, Finaz, Shah, Has, Rinnie and GG.... Seronok banget!!! ❤️ Talked and laughed till 3am. 2 single beds occupied by 5 of us (the other 3, plus wewe's daughter Elsa using the queen bed of the other room) - just like dorm life in TKC years ago... Cuma katil lebih comfy hahaha! I didn't realize how much I miss high school until I'm surrounded by these junkies hehe. Put us together and somehow, suddenly - it's high school all over again! :D

But no worry, each of us now has at least one touch and go card with our beautiful pics (masuk bakul naik lif nampaknya lol!) on it!! We'll bring the card every where in our wallet as 'pengubat rindu' Lol!
