The CS10 (batch 1988) mini reunion

I will never forget my life in ITM.... Life as CS10 student :) My course-mates and I were very closed... macam adik beradik :) There were Kath (our top student - manjang sijil dekan!), Hafiz (hmmm... our next top student? or I used to call him Mat Bunga sebab kalau tulis birthday card or anything.... punya lah berbunga2 bahasanya.. nak gelak we all baca! :D ), Amoi & Ain (dua orang ni bercintan cintun dari zaman student lagi.. and alhamdulillah, dah kawin with 2 lovely daughters now), Pitt (Minah Johor yg selalu buat rambut tokcang senget! haha), Ina HMG (a.k.a Ina Bobo by some friends), Zanida @ Ani (minah kampung majidee), Fishee (our sprinter!), Mantoi (joker in the group.. suka buat joke! During public speaking class... avoid looking at his face... sure nak gelak punya lah!), Husni (buaya darat CS10.. haha!), Amir (budak MenCeKeK yg sangat sombong at the begining... tapi akhirnya sangatla peramahnya pulak.. haha), Suzi (the brutal gal), Norli (my Pilah buddy), Wan Anita (PR of our batch), Salwa and Saleha Denan (the twins in our batch), Suherman (a.k.a "Manja" by the rest of us ), and ramai lagi lah... tak dan nak sebut semua.. hehe :)

Nowadays pun... most of us are still keeping in touch (via Facebook of course!) :) Ain and Amoi are now PR of the United States of America and residing in Chicago, Ilinois. So, bukan senang lah nak jumpa depa ni. When they announced that they were coming back... I pun mula lah merancang2 nak buat reunion ;) Asalnya berpakat dengan Ani(zanida), Pit and Ina (HMG) to visit Amoi's parents house in Selayang last Sunday... tapi alhamdulillah... ramai jugak yg nak berminat nak join - Amir Suhaimi, Mantoi and Fishee! Too bad Ani could not make it.... coz we had lots of fun! :) We planned to bring food (ala2 potluck la gitu) sebab tak mau susahkan tuan rumah. I brought roti jala, Ina bawa some kuihs, Pit buat kek coklat (sedapppp!!! Izzaty and Izzat bedal sampai 3 potong kek!!) and custard pudding (yummy!), Mantoi bawa cucuq kodok and sambal bilis, Fishee bawa egg tarts.... pergh! We really had fun sambil makan2 :D I think that was the first reunion that I've ever attended for CS10 (batch 8891)... hopefully there are more in the future... :)

Us... with our kids.. :)

Makkah al Mukarramah

From Madinah... we all singgah makan kat one local restaurant... first time makan dalam dulang ala2 orang Arab! Sedap jugak!! hehe.

Excited to share food in the same dulang :)

We reached the holy land of Makkah about 8.30pm I think. Then we were told by Ustaz Mahmod that hotel kami ialah 'Hotel Hijaz'. And dari belakang kedengaran Pakcik Hj Yaacob cakap "Alhamdulillah"...... so I assumed this is a very good news lah! Which is true.... our hotel is just about 50m away from the Masjidil Haram! Alhamdulillah. Lepas dinner (masa tu kami je dari Andalusia yg dok kat hotel ni... so makan pun tak yah queue panjang, alhamdulillah!) and rehat for a while, kami berkumpul semula di lobi to perform our first umrah (I mean fifrst for this trip). Walaupun penat (and I wasn't that well after Madinah... flu and batuk makin menjadi pulak... dugaan.. dugaan) kami usahakan juga sebab tak mau dlm ihram lama sangat. Alhamdulillah.... segalanya dipermudahkan Allah. Lepas tawaf tu, I realised ramainya orang berposing depan Kaabah.... wahh, now so senang meh? Dulu nak posing luar masjidil haram pun susah!! Saie was a bit a challenge... memandangkan I did not exercise for a long, long time... so badan tak lah fit sangat kan... But again... alhamdulillah... dimudahkanNya :) Balik bilik around pukul 1 pagi... merayu2 kaki ni lenguh... aduduuu... dugaaaannnnn... :D

Our room in Makkah.... small and cosy... alhamdulillah..
On 2nd day, we decided to take it easy... tak de lah ke Tanaim to do umrah on our own. Cuma buat Tawaf sunat and ibadah lain aje kat Masjidil Haram. Subhanallah... dah lama rindu nak tenguk Kaabah... rasa peaceful sangat bila tenguk!! Seronok bila dapat solat dekat2 ngan Kaabah. Walau pun tak dapat solat kat area dataran tu.... asal dapat solat area yg nampak Kaabah pun dah seronok! :) After Asar, ada ceramah by Ustaz Redzuan at our dining hall - Quite interesting! :) Malam tu Pakcik Hj Yaacob tanya if we'd like to join him to eat at a local restaurant.... katanya nasi best! So kitorang pun mesti lah tak mau lepaskan peluang! hehehe. I was to share sedulang nasi with hubby... tapi tenguk nasi tu macam utk 4 orang you!! Gila meriah!! Sedapppppppp!!! End up mesti la tak abis.... membazir sangat rasa.... tapi nak buat camne... perut dah tak leh masuk lagi dah nih! Rasa dah macam ular melengkor je lepas makan tu kekenyangan :D
Bersandar kekenyangan.... *burppp!* :D See 'extra' nasi kat atas aluminium foil tu... sangat2 membazir... *sigh!*.

On 3rd day, after breakfast kami ke Tanaim ramai2... buat umrah :) Since ada hajat nak buat satu umrah for my arwah ayah... so kali ni I do bada umrah for him. Syukur alhamdulillah... kali ni kuat sket bila buat saie.. :)
Ni gambar curi!! Since ramai yg curi2 ambil gambar depan Kaabah... hubby pulak buat! Ishh.. sib baik tak kena marah ngan Pak Arab you!! Tapi Kaabah dlm gambar ni tak clear sangat kan??

4th day, kami ke Thaif. I wasn't feeling well sepanjang this trip... rasa cam seram sejuk je. Batuk and selsema pulak masih tak elok. Visited the museum (used to be the palace of something). Then enjoyed the scenary kat atas bukit....

Posing depan our hotel.. AlHijaz Palace Hotel... before our trip to Thaif.
Pakai jubah itam baru you! Beli kat Madinah :)

This pic was taken right infront of our hotel. Can see Masjidil Haram in the pic... nak tunjuk the distance of our hotel to Masjidil Haram la ni... :)

Enjoying the beautiful scenary at Hada, Thaif...

Lunch at a local restaurant... nasi dalam dulang lagi! Sedappp!!! Yummy! Kali ni tak la sebanyak kat restaurant yg Pakcik Hj Yaacob bawak tu.... so tak de lah rasa membazir sangat :)
Delicious food... yummy!!! I loveeeeee.... ;)

Then kami ke fruit market.... hubby beli 2 kotak mangga yamen (melampau nih! camne nak bawa balik??) and some buah delima.

At fruit market... Hubby and Pakcik Hj Yaacob beriya2 nak beli mangga Yamen tu!!

On the way back, kami singgah ke masjid Qarnul Munazil. Those yg nak buat umrah tu boleh lah bermiqat kat sini. Asalnya ada a few gak yg berhajat... tapi after a whole day kepenatan jalan... masing2 penat and end up none of us in the group pun jadi pasang niat umrah kat sini. By that time... I can fell my whole body arching... rasa lain macam aje :( Sampai bilik kat Makkah... saya demam pulak :( Nasib baik ada Dr Arifah... dia la supply ubat batuk for me - dah lama sangat batuk tak makan ubat (tak bawa ubat batuk pun for this trip, boleh?) takut ada infection... so makan la ubat batuk ni. I felt pain kat pipi area bawah mata tu... and satu badan rasa sakit2... (boleh agak lah kena infection ni...). So malam tu tak ikut hubby pun ke masjidil haram.... solat kat bilik aje... frust betul!! :(

5th day - The next day, I met Dr Arifah again and told her about the pain kat pipi tu. Dia kata I probably kena sinus sebab dah lama sangat batuk and selsema. So dia bagi I antibiotic (cuma ada 4 biji aje katanya.. so tahan for 2 days aje.. sepatutnya I kena makan for 5 consecutive days). Takpe.... asalkan boleh survive dulu. So alhamdulillah... improved lah sket... boleh la ke masjid macam biasa..... syukur :) Today ada optional tour to Hubaidiah... memandangkan kami dah pernah pergi musim haji 2003 dulu.... we opt not to follow the trip. Hotel kami ni dah beransur ramai harini. Infact... nak makan pun queue dah panjang... maklumlah cuti sekolah dah start. Orang Malaysia ramai ambil peluang bawa nak buat umrah cuti sekolah ni. Masjid pun makin penuh! Kalau dulu dapat kedepan sket for prayers... nowadays kalau lambat... alamatnya solat kat area belakang tu aje lah. Which is okay actually.. masih selesa... alhamdulilah.. cuma tak dapat la nampak Kaabah yg cantik tu....

All these while tak de mood nak bergambar sbb tak sihat and sibuk with other activities.... so since today tak byk activity... kami pun posing sakan la today... hehe :)

6th day - Memandangkan kurang sihat... tak de lah buat umrah lagi... tak ikut pun hubby buat tawaf sunat as before... takut memudaratkan. Hubby aritu ada niat nak cuba puasa kat Mekah ni... so alhamdulillah, he chose to puasa hari ni.. (Hari Khamis, alhamdulillah). Hari ni jugak we all ziarah some interesting places in Mekah... like Jabal Nur, Jabal Rahmah, and some other places.... lastly to Jaranah (again for those nak buat umrah boleh miqat here). My wish to meet Nani again akhirnya termakbul bila nampak Nani Rahayu and her family posing kat Jabal Nur :) So apa lagi! Sempat la kami berposing sekali kat sana. Ye lah... kenangan tuu... :) Bukan senang kan dapat jumpa kawan... kat tanah suci lagi :) Malam tu temankan hubby buka posa kat bangunan Hilton tu (restaurant Hardy's). Since tak de selera sangat... dapat pekena fries pun dah syukur alhamdulillah :) After Isyak, ada tahlil at our hotel for our group... lead by Ustaz Redzuan. Saya pun mengsubmit kan lah nama arwah ayahandaku for this tahlil. Sayu rasa bila Ustaz Redzuan sebut nama arwah... :(
With my friend from tkc years.... Nani Rahayu at Jabal Tsur. Kecik dunia Allah ni ya... Subhanallah..At Jabal Rahmah..
Bandar Mina.
Wow.. tenguk tempat melontar tu... jauh berubah dengan zaman haji kami back in 2003!

7th day - Getting ready to go back to tanahair tercinta. Buat tawaf wida with husband... tak dapat ku tahan airmataku bila baca doa wida tu... Ya Allah... sihatkanlah tubuh badanku, murahkan rezeki ku... dan permudahkan lah aku untuk datang menziarahi Baitulallah ini lagi dan lagi.... Aamin. We left Makkah Al Mukarramah for Jeddah around 10am. Solat Jumaat di Masjid Terapung, Jeddah. Lunch at Asia Restaurant... lauk tomyam you!! Sedap!! :) Then ronda2 Jeddah sket before ke airport.

At masjid terapung, Jeddah

Saturday (8th day) - Kids... we are home!! Missed you soooooooooooooo much!!

MasyaAllah... anak Arab mana ini?? Hehe... Izzaty and Izzat wearing baju yg we all beli dari sana :)

Madinah Al Munawarah

The funny thing about our trip from Turkey to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was we were supposed to go to Madinah Al Munawarah. But our flight was booked from Istanbul to Jeddah. And flight made a stop at Madinah first (but of course we all tak leh turun situ!!). Frust betul... sebab dah sampai dah.. tapi tak leh turun.. and yet kena sambung another 45 mins journey to Jeddah... and later.. kena naik bas 5 JAM to Madinah. But the best thing was... we could see Masjid Nabawi from up above when our flight left Madinah for Jeddah.... Subhanallah, it was very, very beautiful!! Once we reached Jeddah... bila beratur kat imegresen Arab tu... kena queue sekali ngan orang2 Indon yg nak kerja kat sana. Orang lain semua senang je lepas.... tapi hubby and I (who queued belakang Indon2 tu)... kena check cop jari lah (5 jari okay!) kena ambik gambar lah... bla, bla. We were the last person yg lepas la kira..... hmm... sampai2 je dah diduga eh? Tu baru Jeddah you... belum sampai tanah haram lagi tuh! :)Anyway, di Jeddah airport, kami disambut oleh Ustaz Mahmud, wakil Andalusia dari Mekah. Ustaz Mahmud ni boleh tahan kelakar... alhamdulillah, we really, really enjoyed his company. We stopped by for dinner on the way to Madinah at a local restaurant. Makan nasi dalam kotak.... tapi memandangkan dah lama tak dapat makan nasi ala2 masakan Malaysia kan... so... perghh!! Sedap aje laaa... !! :D Take note that... throughout the journey.. my batuk dari Malaysia itu hari belum elok lagi nih! So asyik batuk je lah sepanjang jalan!Madinah is as beautiful as ever!! I always love this city.... (I can understand why Rasullah saw fell in love with this beautiful city!). It's very beautiful... very civilised.. it's very peaceful to be there. Our hotel, Al Fayroz is very, very near the Masjid Nabawi, alhamdulillah.... Senang nak visit Rasullah saw and syukur alhamdulillah, I managed to go to Raudhah a few times.... They have a new system nowadays to enter Raudhah.... it's probably better kot.. I mean the new system. Diorang segregate the muslimah into their nationalities... so Malaysian and Indonesian dapat masuk Raudhah sekali lah... should be easier this way... insyaAllah.

Our hotel... Al Fayroz... very near to Masjid Nabawi... alhamdulillah :)
Our room.... very, very cozy.... alhamdulillah :)

On the first day.. walau pun kepenatan... kami sempat dibawa visiting a few places in Madinah like Tanah Ubat, Medan Magnet, Bukit Sejadah and Bukit Uhud.

Near the Medan Magnet. Kawasan Medan Magnet ni is believed to ada kuasa magnet. Kat area ni.. our van (yg dlm gambar ni) dimatikan enjinnya (tapi handbrake dilepaskan of course)... the van boleh bergerak sendiri up to 140km/hr.... amazing kan? Subhanallah...

Naik ke Bukit Sejadah... tak tinggi pun...
Believed to be bekas tapak Nabi Muhammad SAW
(kawasan yg licin sebelah kaki my hubby tu)
.. Wallahualam.

On the 2nd day, we had to leave Madinah for Al Ula and Madain Salleh. I was quite excited to visit Madain Salleh - tempat tinggal kaum Tsamud (kaum Nabi Salleh). When Izzaty was in standard 3, in her Sirah subject (KAFA), she learned about Kaum Tsamud yg engkar pada perintah Allah dan seruan Nabi Salleh. Kaum Tsamud ni ada kelebihan utk mengukir bukit/batu menjadi rumah/tempat tinggal. So what we saw in Madain Salleh was kesan2 tinggal.. bukit yg dah diukir oleh kaum Tsamud.... beautiful! Tido one night at Al Ula...

The next day, we visited the Al Ula Old City, the Old Railway Station, ect. After Friday prayer, balik to Madinah....

Al Ula Old City....
The Old Railway Station, Al Ula..
Been there... done that! :)

Back in Madinah, on the 4th day, we visited Masjid Quba, Masjid Qiblatain, Kilang Al Quran, Bukit Uhud (yeap... we went there 2 times!), Ladang kurma and Pasar Kurma :)

Our first destination... masjid Quba... kalau kita ambil wuduk from home (in our case, our hotel la kira ya!), and solat 2 rakaat at this mosque... pahalanya umpana membuat satu umrah! Subhanallah....

Tasting the kurma(s), and delicious coklat kurma at ladang kurma ;) Bab2 free tasting... tak leh tolak.. hahaha! :D

Free tea at ladang kurma... :) Free lagi... ahak!Kilang Al Quran at Madinah. Ladies tak rasa la masuk kilang ni... kena dok kat setakat library aje. Gambar ni hubby tolong ambilkan since I tak leh masuk! :PThe guys dapat free tafsir Al Quran sorang satu.... TAK ACIIIIII!!!!!! :P Yg jelesnya... si kecik Farhan tu pun dapat... uwaaaa!!!Bukit Uhud (2nd visit)... kali ni sempat la sopping sket2.. haha! Ada jual macam2 herbs @ ubat-ubatan kat sini. I bought ubat zuriat (teringat kat a friend - Siti Addyanirayati yg dah lama mencuba... tapi belum ada rezeki.. hope this herbs helps!), ubat asma (for MIL) and ubat athiritis (for my mom)... 3 ni for SR10 :)
Last destination... masjid Qiblatain. Masjid ni ada 2 kiblat (2 mihrab). Rasulallah SAW tengah solat di masjid ini bila diturunkan wahyu utk tukar kiblat dari Al Aqsa (Baitul Muqadis) to Kaabah (Masjidil Haram).

After Dzuhur, sempat la posing for the last time kat Masjid Nabawi.... (I'm gonna miss this place! *sob*!).
Posing before leaving Masjid Nabawi.... after doing ziarah wida...

We were supposed to get ready after that sebab nak ke Mekah dah after lunch. Tapi sampai je kat hotel I accidently met an old friend from my tkc days - Nani Rahayu. Subhanallah... banyak2 tempat, kami jumpa di tanah suci Madinah ini. Punya lah seronok dapat jumpa!! It's Nani's first umrah experience and she looked so excited. She came with his son, sister and parents. Good for her! :) Excited sangat borak... lupa lak nak bergambar... ceh! Ni kenangan ni... patut capture in a pic... betul tak?!

We later left Madinah after lunch.... singgah sat kat Masjid Bir Ali (miqat for umrah) and Mecca... here we come!Hubby and Ustaz Mahmud... all ready in ihram clothes :)

Labbaikallah hu malabai....
Labbaikala shari kala kalabaik...
Innal hamda...
Wannikmata...
Lakawal mul...
Lasharikalak..

Istanbul - our 2nd visit

I had a great time during this trip!! 2 weeks away from the office.... of course lah seronok kan? :)
We were sent to KLIA by my parents in law and my mom on Friday 6th March 2009. At KLIA, Haji Yaacob (a representative from Andalusia Travel and Tours) was waiting for everyone at the check-in counter. After all check-in processes were done, baca doa, ect.... 26 of us in the group were so happy and excited to begin this journey :) The 26 ppl includes -
1. me and hubby (of course!)
2. Hj Mat Som, wife (Kak Fauziah), daughter (Aqilah) and their auntie (Makcik Aminah)
3. Dr Arifah, Dr Ban, their son (Farhan Hamimi) and the parents (Pakcik Musa and wife Makcik Jaz).
4. Kak Puziah and hubby, Brother Bukhari.
5. A family from Taman Tun (alamak! Lupa lak nama diorang 4 beranak!)
6. Hj Ibrahim and wife Kak Yati.
7. Hj Othman and wife (Aunty Laila Mariam) and daughter (Siti Rabieah)
8. Abang Said and wife (Kak Sarimah) and his mother-in-law.
9. Our representative from Andalusia - Haji Yaacob.

We reached the Jeddah airport about Maghrib time.... then while other ppl sibuk check out kat kastam Arab tu... we all 26 orang ni... terperuk dlm airport kat Jeddah tu for 16 HOURS (RECORD BABE!!)... tak pernah rasa transit selama ni!! We were told about this earlier... so I dah prepare lah beli a book at KLIA airport sebelum bertolak tu... I read this book... Quite nice laa the book.... at least tak la boring menunggu... 16 jam tuuuhhh!!!!! :P We were told earlier that Andalusia Travel and Tours would not supply food or anything sepanjang 16 jam tu... but alhamdulillah.... we were given nasi ayam and a tin of pepsi!!! Yeay!! Syukur Alhamdulillah. Thanks to Pakcik Hj Yaacob... for taking care of us :) We all melepak and spent time like tido kat kerusi la... surau laa... like this one...
Anak sapa la tido sepah kat krusi nih?? Homeless ke apa?? :D A candid pic by hubby... I was sleeping on one of the waiting chairs @ Jeddah airport! :)
Lama giler 16 hours tu rasanya... sampai Pak Arab yg sapu area tu risau.. or rather rimas kot nenguk we all tido and melepak area tu and keep asking "when are you leaving??" You guys should see his expression.... cam tak puas hati je dia ngan we all!! hahahaha!! :D Anyway, bila our flight to Istanbul was annouced.... lega giler everyone!!! :D

Istanbul is as beautiful as before!! We all disambut by a local tourist guide - Cem (pronouced 'Jem'). Sampai2 je we all naik bas and brought to Bursa. Naik ferry for about 1 hour crossing the Marmara Sea (very beautiful!). On the way, stopped by at a local small mosque to jamak our Dzuhur and Asar. It was just a small mosque but quite nice lah! So different from the Malaysian mosques! Once we reached Bursa, we dropped by at the Grand Mosque. Built at the end of the 14th century, the Bursa's Grand Mosque is an interesting example of the period before the classical Ottoman architecture... quite interesting... I must say!

Interior of the Grand Mosque, Bursa... impressively beautiful!!

After Grand Mosque.... check-in kat hotel... masing2 pun dah kepenatan... hari pun dah gelap :)

The very next day, we all ronda2 kat Bursa... visited the Green Mosque, Green Tomb and the Silk Market. Green Mosque is named that way sebab tiles kat dalam dia byk warna green. The interior of the mosque is beautiful!! We all naik sampai ke atas masjid tu exploring the mosque... sangat2 cantik :) Not far away from the Green mosque is the Green Tomb.... under renovation.. so we could not see much lah. And right beside the Green Tomb is Silk Market... this one I like! :) Very, very nice place to shop... Nampak dari luar cam kecik je... tapi masuk dalam... wahhh... bertingkat2 rupanya! And nicely decorated!! But well.... since budget kureng.... tak de lah beli apa2.... nengok yo lah! :P

Interiors of the Green Mosque in Bursa is very, very impressive... cantik giler!

Tenguk je orang shopping kat Silk Market... tak de budget lah nak beli... :(
While waiting the others abis shopping, we bought some 'simid' (am not sure lak the correct spelling) sesame bread ring at a nearby bakery. Little Farhan and his Atuk ronda2 kat area Bursa tu and found a museum.... quite interesting katanya... somemore... masuk pun FOC!! Aisay.. pesal lah we all tak terjumpa lak museum nih!! :P
Later, we left Bursa and went back to Istanbul.. (naik ferry lagi sekali).

Having fun with Rabeah feeding the seaguls atas ferry at Marmara sea.

Once in Istanbul, we had lunch - local food.. boleh laa.. tapi bila hari2 makan the same thing... bosan la pulak..hehe

Nasi pun ada... tapi kering je... takde kuah... terkulat2 kami makan :D
Later, we visited the famous Hagia Sophia (wah... dah berapa tahun tunggu nak visit tempat ni! When we visited Istanbul back in 2001, tak dapat visit Hagia Sofea cause we did not know it would be closed on Monday... tersilap buat schedule lah dulu lah... pastu gigit cari tak sempat ke sana... really regretted it! Tu yg berazam nak datang Istanbul lagi nih! :) Alhamdulillah.. sampai gak hajat sampai ke sini :) It was as impressive as we expected! Hagia Sophia which was accepted as the greatest and most sacred piece of the city during the Byzantine age is today a museum. Used as a church for 916 years since the date it was constructed.. but later turned into a mosque for 481 years after Istanbul was conquered by Islam.

Hubby with Hagia Sophia at the back.

Inside Hagia Sophia... can see kat dinding.. nama Allah and Mohammad... but on top ada pulak gambar Virgin Mary...

After Hagia Sophia... we went to the Ayyub Al Ansari Mosque. Ayyub AL Ansari was believed to be a close friend and great follower of Rasulallah saw. Kebetulan pulak hari tu hari Maulidur Rasul... so macam hari raya lah kat masjid ni... sangat2 penuh dan meriah! Apparently the turkish selalu pergi masjid ni for any special occasion like the eids, weddings, maulidul rasul, majlis khatan, ect. Quite happening jugak lah masjid ni on that day... sampai nak masuk pun susah! (tak dapat masuk dalam masjid... we just visited outside area je).

Outside the Ayyub Al Ansari Mosque

Many locals came to celebrate the Maulidul Rasul celebration. Rasa macam suasana sembahyang raya je bila sampai sini... :)

A couple of bride and groom... came to this mosque on their special day.
Later... we went for the Bosphrus cruise. The Bosphorus strait joins the Sea of Marmara with the Black Sea, and separates the continents of Europe and Asia. Back in 2001, we all lepak je kat tepi Bosphorus strait ni... cuci2 mata sambil pekena sandwich ikan bakar (which was soooo delicious!). But this time around... merasa lah kami cruising along the strait... enjoying the beautiful scenary along it and the cold wind :)
With Dr Arifah and Dr Ban's cheeky son - Farhan Hamimi :)

3rd day... visited the famous Blue Mosque (also known as Sultanahmed Mosque by the Turkish). Hmmm.... tak yah citer laa.... mmg sangat, sangat, sangat cantik!!! Kononnya... the Blue Mosque was commissioned by Sultan Ahmet I as a rival to Hagia Sophia. It's located right the opposite of Hagya Sofia pun.... sesuai lah tu :)

Inside the Blue Mosque

Everyone - posing kat Dataran Sultan Ahmet... Blue Mosque as background.

With Makcik Jaz... cantik bunga kat depan Blue Mosque ni... :)

After Blue Mosque.... kami ke Topkapi Palace pulak. The last time we visited Topkapi Palace.. punya lah berpusing2 nak cari entrance... sampai sesat barat and bergaduh2 (me and hubby lah nih!). Maklumlah.. pergi sendiri tanpa guide.... :) This time with a local guide... rasa dekat nye la Topkapi Palace ni... rupanya Topkapi palace ni ada byk entrance. Just jalan sket je ke arah belakang Hagia Sophia tu ada one of the entrances... hahaha! :D Terasa kelakar lah pulak bila kenang gaduh2 dulu tu!! :D

At one of the Topkapi entrances.

Topkapi Palace is as grand as before. This time around... we did not visit the The Harem (nasib baik dah pegi dulu... cantik tempat ni.. rugi lah gang2 satu group ni tak rasa pegi!). BUT... kalau dulu we did not manage to visit the Imperial Treasury building.... (masa tu closed for renovation)... kali ni dapat... YESS!!! We finally managed to see the infamous topkapi dagger and the spoonmaker's diamond... kelasss!! So many beautiful, expensive jewellaries in this building!!! Ada byk lagi lah historical things kat Topkapi Palace ni.. like janggut Nabi Mohammad (saw), tongkat Nabi Musa, dan banyak lagi lah. In case you are wondering if those things are for real? Yeah... I also wonder... wallahualam! :)
The spoonmaker's diamond..... berkilau2 you!!! Cerita disebalik diamond ni... kononnya a poor fisherman found the diamond kat kawasan sampah aje... then carry it in his pocket for a few days before jual kat a jewellers dengan harga 3 sudu buruk aje... alahai.. sian fisherman tu kena tipu agaknya!! :(
The infamous topkapi dagger
After Topkapi Palace... we went for lunch at a local restaurant and later.... shopping time!!! Went to a leather factory... tenguk fashion... fullamak.. cantik2 giler leather jacket diorang nih! Tapi harganya.... nak tanya pun takut! hahahaha :D Something funny happened during the fashion show... one of the models... tiba2 turun from the stage and tarik I to join her up to the stage.. huh? Hellooo?? Saya ni nak gi umrah ni... tak sedap la nak suka2 posing jadi model nih!! :D Beriya2 dia pujuk suruh naik... tapi I suruh minah yg dok sebelah I tu je naik... cik adik Rabeah kita :) Well, she's younger and still single... tak pe lah enjoy naik stage tu bermodel2 :) Tak rasa guilty sangat I hope.. compared to me yg lagi setahun nak reach 40 nih! :D I thought none of us end up buying anything sebab giler punya mahal price dia... ribu raban duit kita! But to my surprise, Rabeah and her mom did buy something..... peh! One jacket for Rabeah.. and one for her mom... Pergh!! Caya lah!!! Cantik giler!! Jealous tenguk!! ;)

Rabeah dengan bergaya nya doing catwalk on the stage... way to go gal! :)

Later baru la kami ke grand bazaar. There are over 4000+ shops kat sini.. sib baik tak sesat!! We did not buy much.. just shirts for the kids and FIL and hubby kemaruk nak beli the beautiful Turkish tiles... berat siut... tapi minat punya pasal.. sanggup dia mengangkut natang tu.. hahaha! :D
Pusing2 at the grand bazaar...
Hubby was having a hard time choosing a set of decor tiles for our lovely home

On our last day in Istanbul... we visited the Rustam Pasha mosque and the Spice Bazaar. Rustam Pasha mosque is located on the 2nd floor of a bazaar. Kononnya... so that orang yg nak beribadat kat situ tak terganggu lah dengan noises kat bazaar tu. Quite nice lah inside the mosque..
The Rustam Pasha Mosque
Admiring the tiles in Rustam Pasha Mosque... memang cantik!
Peminat tiles #1 macam hubby I ni tak kan lepas peluang posing kat beautiful tiles like this one :) This one is called 'The Tree of Life'... very2 beautiful :)

Then we walked to the Spice Bazaar... dekat je dengan Rustam Pasha mosque tu. Dulu back in 2001, sempat visit tempat ni kejap aje.... (again setelah sesat barat mencari tempat nih!). So kali ni we all really enjoyed this place. Menarik jugak tempat ni... lots of food, spices jual kat sini.

Hubby bought another set of decor tiles... ni macam 'Tree of life' punya tiles yg we ada kat Rustam Pasha Mosque tu... Cantik! Tapi aduduuu... berat lah nak ngangkut balik Malaysia nih...
All kind of teas are sold here... very, very interesting ;) Lots of Turkish delight on sales... menarik sangat nampak :)
With Aunty Yam and her daughter - Rabeah shopping for the blue eyes souvenirs :)

Then we left Turkey for Saudi Arabia. Bye Istanbul... may be we'll come again next time....
