Because life is beautiful, and messy and never goes according to plan

Because life is beautiful, and messy and never goes according to plan.

Kinda love this phrase quoted from the latest movie 'To All the Boys : Always and Forever'.

I always like to plan ahead... so I got a bit upset and felt really anxious when things don't go my way. It is a life journey for me to learn to accept the fact that every time I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being re-directed to something better. It's probably not that easy but we must convince our heart that whatever Allah has decreed is the best and most beneficial for us.

Untung laaa... dapat celebrate his Big 50th birthday at the Big Apple!! :)

Well helloooo again NYC!
I was super excited to step my feet in NYC again... after like 26 years ago during my student years!
We had 12 hours transit in NYC before continuing our journey back to Malaysia...
Not much time... so we decided to make a quick stop at Manhantan, Times Square, Rokefeller Center and going cruise at NY Downtown during sunset.

Were wandering around when ew found this halal stall...
Yeay!!! Halal meat!!!! Lama tak jumpa meat ni... hahahha!
Kita tapau dulu for lunch.

Jom pusing2 the famous city of Manhantan...

The famous M&M store in Manhantan.... rambang mata tenguk those colourful candies...

We bought the red bus tourist tickets to travel from one place to another in the city of NYC. Then we can hop off anywhere in the town and later hop in the bus again to the next location..
Bulat mata kiri kanan tenguk all those buildings in the city...

At the Rokefeller Center..

It was Black Friday you all!! Tapi yours truly tak sempat nak shopping...huhuuu!
I chose to jalan2 instead of shopping... hahaha! Macam tak percaya kan? Lol!

Downtown Manhantan...
Queuing for our cruise...

NYC downtown cruise - such a wonderful priceless experience!

The famous Manhanttan bridge

From far, kelihatan the Statue of Liberty...
Bye bye Statue of Liberty... see you again I hope...

Sunset @ Downtown Manhanttan, NYC

End of NYC tour. Kaki dah rasa nak tercabut keletihan! Giler penat... haha! Merayu kaki den kesakitan, I tell you! But worth it!!! It was an amazing to be here again in NYC after all these years!
Last I came here was with my fellow UMKCian -  K.A, Mieda, Pejoy, Asni, Chuk, Nani (who picked up when we stopped in Ames), and Fazal (our NYC host, who was studying in Columbia University NY).
And here I was again in NYC... thinking of all of you....

All right... we were so ready to go home!

Exploring Lima - Day 2

Buenos Dias from Lima!! Today, our mission was to explore this beautiful city of Lima on foot ;)

Apa2 pun, kita breakfast dulu. Breakfast provided by our hotel....
Breads, butter, cheese, jams and eggs... syukur alhamdulillah...

Perut dah di sisi... let's start our journey to explore Lima!
The weather was super, super nice. It was such a beautiful day to walk around...
Plaza De Armas De Lima again
This plaza is the center of Lima's attraction. Unesco Heritage. The plaza is the heart of historical Lima surrounded by the city's main attraction buildings such as  Cathedral de Lima & Archbishop's Palace, Lima City Hall and Peru's presidential Palace.
I can just sit here and wath the activities going on around here... sangat meriah!

Police officers were everywhere... so we felt safe in this area, alhamdulillah.

Those mustard colour buildings are City Hall of Lima
Loving the mustard colours buildings here. For Inca, the mustard colour represent 'power'.

In front of Peru's presidential Palace.

And the building behind us is the Archbishop's Palace

We walked around the city... there are many beautiful places and buildings in this city.

Casa de la Literature Peruana - Lima's architecturally notable library with a cafe offering exhibition, programs and guided tour.

Went to the local post office and found this stamp - the stamp has a picture of Machu Pichu in Peru and Gunung Kinabalu in Malaysia.I likeeeee!!!!! Priceless!!!

We later joined a walking tour (same concept as the one we follow in Cuzco - only pay tips to our tourist guide).
Inkan Milky way walking tour.

Oh well, more lessons on Incan and Peru history...
I actually had an amazing time walking around exploring the historical area of this charming city.
This is the Church of La Merced - one of the famous churches in Lima.

Back to the Plaza De Armas De Lima with the group.

Watching the change-of-guide at the Peru's presidential Palace from far.

Basilica y Convento de San Francisco de Lima.
A monastery with beautiful architecture and pretty courtyard.

Walking to the other side of Lima...

This is Chapel Our Lady of the Rosary.
It was said that it is the smallest church in Peru - also the smallest church in the world.

We later separated ourselves from the tour group and walked back to the Plaza De Armas De Lima area for late lunch.

Went to same restaurant and requested for 'picante' dishes again Lol!
Trout salad - sedap sangat makan kat Cusco aritu... so we requested the same dish again.

Souvenirs hunting again. Now that our food stocks mostly were gone, we have more space to keep the souvenirs Lol!

This nice lady sells silver accessories at one of the souvenir shops nearby our hotel. I did not buy anything from her shop, but while Mr Hubby busy choosing tshirts and the shop beside her shop, I would talk to her... she asked me lots of question about Malaysia and my family. Such a friendly lady. This evening, we came to the shop again and I told her that I am flying home tonight. To my surprise, she gave me some souvenirs - to remember her. MasyaAllah.. so much love in this small world <3

Later in the evening, we dropped by at her shop and surprised her by giving a 'Malaysia' tshirt.
Look at her happy face.... priceless!!! I made new friend here in Lima <3

That night, we had a light dinner before our flight back home.
It was already Friday morning 29th November in Malaysia... In Peru it was still Thursday.
29th November 2019 - someone turns 50!!!
Happy 50th birthday to my darling other half... my bestest friend, my travel buddy <3
Just a small celebration by eating sandwich and drinking Peruvian local fruit juices.
On the right is mango plus lucuma juice.
On the left is tuna (not the fish okay Lol! It's cactus extraction) plus guanabana (soursop) juice.
Both are yummilicious!
I am sure gonna miss drinking these drinks once I'm back in Malaysia.
How lar to find lucuma or tuna or guanabana - Lol!

Last meal and drink in Peru before leaving this country.
Adios Peru... it was such an amazing and priceless experience to explore this country!
Thank you Allah!

All packed and we are ready to go home...

Well, hello again New York City!!!!
Big Apple here we come!!!

* To be continued *
