Iftar with AbdulManaf Clan - 7th Ramadhan

Today is the first Saturday of  Ramadhan. Usually, this is the day when my siblings and I would gather for iftar together with our mak. But we haven’t done this for 2 years due to the MCO… and this year kami dapat la kami gather again, alhamdulillah.

Yours truly cooked daging dendeng today to bring to the family iftar gathering - semangat pagi2 dah meracik bawang buat bawang goreng.. penat okay! Lepas ni beli je lah bawang goreng ni haha…

Thanks to Ms Timmy, menjadi gak lah dendeng ku…

Selalunya bila family iftar ni, our Mak la yang paling busy dan excited selalunya kan. But this year, mak no longer the busiest and excited person 😔 Mak has not been able to walk, talk and eat normally ever since she got stroke in 2020. Doktor kata mak punya brain is badly affected by the stroke. But alhamdulillah, dia kenal lagi anak2 and today, walaupun she is no longer the ceria mak… at least she can still be with us, her anak2 and cucu2 for our iftar gathering, alhamdulillah 🥰
Food meriah - alhamdulillah! Lotsa delicious food served by tuan rumah, Along and family and potluck food from everyone! Penuh meja… MasyaAllah.. thank you Allah. Bang Long’s MIL and aunty were there too 🥰

Solat Maghrib jemaah.
My mom masa sihatnya memang akan sentiasa memastikan during family gathering, bila masuk waktu Maghrib, kena solat jemaah. Dia lah yang akan sibuk membentang sejadah and calling everyone to get ready for jemaah prayer. Alhamdulillah, aktiviti itu masih diteruskan… penuh ruang tamu rumah Along bila kami berjemaah… tu tak cukup korum tu… missing cucu2 wan - Farhan in Madrasah, Ashraf in Melbourne, Daniel in Moscow, Sara and Adam in Canada, Nisha in UK, Damian in MRSM Pontian, Harith in MCKK, Nadiya in SERATAS and Fauzan in INTESABER. Wishing all of you were with us ❤️

By the time kami sampai rumah dah around 10pm, digagahkan juga solat Terawih 8 rakaat walaupun penat dan mengantuk. #misiterawihpenuh harus diteruskan 🤭
How about #misitakpergipasarramadhan? So far okay lagi ni huhuu… tapi cam dah mula goyah keimanan sbb penat woo jadi career woman AND surirumah tak sepenuh masa ni!! 😔

Well, that’s a wrap for 7th Ramadhan summary… dah past my bed time ni… good night everyone 😘

Sistercation to South Korea

 Annyeonghaseyo!

For the past few years, my sisters and I had created a 'tabung' for our 'sistercation' annual trip. Our first trip was to Kunming in 2014, Perth trip in 2017 (2 years gap due to my youngest sis got pregnant and baby Zain was born in 2016 I think), South Korea in 2018 and later Redang Trip in 2020.

Am saving some of the pics from the South Korea trip here for memories down the lane. Nak cerita banyak pun tak boleh sebab punya lah lama dah trip ni, tak ingat dah apa nak cerita Lol! So, kita upload gambar je lah ya... Pictures all from my IG. Dah tak keep in my phone.

Upon arrival, kami naik train ke PyeongChang. Kebetulan masa ni musim YeongChang Winter Olympic 2018. Sejuk gedikssss haha.

The AbdulManafClan sisters. Love you all to the moon and back 😘❤️

PyeongChang is famous for Ski Resort. So, ajuma2 ni sibuk gak lah registered ourselves to learn how to ski :D Priceless experience indeed! We survived the ski class... hahaha! Giler betul... baru belajar sikit2, dah kena ski from up hill turun ke bawah... memang nervous giler rasa sepanjang skiing down the sloop tu...
This is my ski instructor... apa ntah nama dia lupa... lol!

The sisters with one of the ski instructors.

This resort is also famous as one of the location for Goblin drama.
Masa pegi ni, tak tenguk lagi series ni... balik dari trip ni, terus tenguk cerita ni... haha.

At Olympic Station @ Jinbu, Pyeongchang. On our way to Seoul.

Hey Seoul Sisters ❤️
At Seoul Central Mosque which is located near our rented AirBnB apartment in Itaewon.

Tengah jalan2 kat Itaewon, boleh pulak terserempak dengan adik manis ni...
I was like... eh, macam kenal!!!
Unexpected catch up thousands of miles away from home Lol!
Ita was an ex Maybanker... now attached with Bank Negara.
It was really good to meet you again sis... hehe.

Of course, our trip to Korea would not be completed if we do not go to Nami Island haha.
One day trip to Nami Island in a freezing cold weather...
Tercapai cita2 I nak sampai sini... hahahaha.
 Awesome view in Nami Islands..

Visited the Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Weather was -13C... sejuk gediks... haha.

With of the palace's guards.

Meet Jeff, our volunteer teen guide. Apparently, it is compulsory for teenagers to do voluntary work here in Korea. Bersungguh2 si Jeff ni speaking English to explain to us the history of the buildings here in Gyeongbokgung Palace. Calon menantu?? hahaha..

At LINE Friends Store in Itaewon.

Spending the last eve in Seoul on top of Namsan Tower. Toilet kat atas Namsan Tower ni awesome u all... view dia cantik sangat... toilet with a view gitu.... Lol!
These love keychains at the bottom of Namsan Tower is a famous spot for lovers... also famous spot untuk romantic kpop drama location.

Alhamdulillah, feel so blessed to be able to spend some quality time with my sisters. Wishing that one day, my one and only brother can join us also... ❤️

Syafahallah cousin Fadhi

When I was small, besides my sis Na, I have a few close friends (and cousins) that used to be my partner-in-crime in whatever I do 😄

We played together, berkejar sana sini together, pergi beraya from one house to another together (kutip duit raya la apa lagi haha). Even pergi berGongXiFaChai mengumpul angpow together haha.

And among those who were in that group were my long diatance cousins, Shida and her sis, Fadhi.  Both Shida and Fadhi were very close to me and my sis Na as we basically grew up together in Kg Gontam, Kolo Pilah. Shida the eldest is my age and Fadhi is Na's age. Memang rapat la kan...

When Shida informed me that Fadhi was diagnosed with breast cancer and now the cancer has spread to lungs and liver, I was devastated. Could not stop my tears 😭

When I informed my sisters about the news, the 3 of us - Along, Na and yours truly decided to visit the patient.

Road trip to Seremban with my lovely sisters.

Fadhi is currently staying at her bro's house in Seremban which made it easier for us to visit. Her family and home is actually in Sg Petani but she came back to stay with her family during this difficult time in order to hide her condition from her kids... Sedih kan? 😭😭

Fadhi in blue tudung can still smile despite her condition. You are such a strong lady cousin! Stay positive and be strong okay! 💪🏻
You will always be in our prayer, insyaAllah.

Cik Kiahs berwefie dgn Shida (most left) before leaving the patient to rest.

To Fadhi, syafakillah to you my cousin. May Allah give you strength during this difficult time.
We love you and our prayers will always be with you 💝

Western Hills - Kunming Day4

On our 4th day – our last day in Kunming, we decided to have breakfast in our apartment – we need our morning coffee please…. Not soup! :P Thanks god, DikMa brought some instant coffee! Our plan for the day was to go to Western Hills to visit Dianchi Lake and Dragon Gate.

Western Hills are one of the highlights of Kunming and a must visit when you come here. From the internet, I found out that Western Hills are also called 'Sleeping Buddha Hills', as looked from a distance, they have the appearance of a giant sleeping Buddha. They have also been given another name  'Sleeping Beauty Hills' for the hills when viewed together look like a beautiful young lady lying beside Dianchi Lake with her face upward and her hair trailing into water. By the way, Dianchi Lake is the 6th largest lake in China… so Richard told me.

It’s a long way from bottom to the top to see the Dragon Gate, but I actually enjoyed the hike ;) We took the cable from the lake to the entrance gate (save lots of energy there hihi!). Amazing view from the cable car!
Cik Kiah again - gumbira to start a new adventure!

Richard warned us that there would be about 300 steps to the top. So my aunty and DikMa (and Ika of course!) decided not to join us. Little Sophie was brave enough to join her mom for this adventure! ;) Way to go Sophie!! ;)

And our hike began…

Nice scenery from here...

Guan Gong the Fortune God – the Chinese would touch his gold shoes to get more fortune.

Aiyayaaa…. More stairs…. -_- Caiyok, caiyok Sophie... we can do it!!!

Enjoying the view from top.... it's beautiful! And felt good for being able to be here on top of Western Hill ;)

More and more stairs... :P
At our age... Cik Kiahs mmg mengah la sket nak sampai sini ya... haha!

Richard said ‘Touch the head of the turtle for long life’

And moreeee and moreeeee stairs:P!!! Huhu...

Sophia need to eat something to recharge her energy to climb more stairs :D

Phoenix Rock – also known as Old Stone House

 Dragon gate tunnel

Richard said this is The God of Benevolence. Couples who want to have children would come to pray here.

The Dragon Gate survivor… yeah!!

And I thought that was the end of our journey… but nope…. We have MORE stairs to climb…. Aiyooo
Sophia teman maklang naik tangga ya… kita sama2 crawl kalau penat… hehe

Relax jap ambil nafas... #dahtuadaaa
And the view.... got awsomer and awsomer the higher we get!

Yang ini tak reti nak cerita as I didn 't take note... -_-
I was probably too tired to take note by then.. haha!

Haishh Chopia ni kacau daun maklang nak posing solo :D

And MORE stairs to go…. :P

Yours truly taking a deeeeepppp breath while enjoying the scenery…

Beautiful view from up here

With Na and Richard

Me and Na

We survived the Dragon Gate hike! Yeehaa!!!

Okay… time to go down… slow and steady. Watch your steps!

Dah sampai bawah… Sophie penatt…. Sophie nak eksrim!!! :D

in cable car on our way down

did you see the golden gate??

We had lunch here in a place called Guan Shang (in Kunming city).

Along choosing the veges and fishes/meat to be cooked.

spring roll aka popia goreng!! My favourite!!! They used kulit wantan instead of our normal kulit popia… sedap gak… hihi!

Lunch… Malaysia style! I like!!

After lunch, we decided to walk to a nearby fruit market...

Haaaippp Ikaa… don’t touch! -_-

Believe it or not, we only got to shop fruits! (and ohh… Ruby and Na sempat sopping toys at one small nearby shop)… that’s all! No souvenirs shopping …. In China??!!! Macam susah nak percaya kanTapi itu lah hakikatnya. Did not find any fridge magnet that has ‘Kunming’ written on it! Kecewa!:P

Straight to the airport after fruit shopping… (yes, that’s the only souvenirs I bought for my colleagues and mr hubby…huhu!) Performed prayer at the airport (yes, there’s a cozy surau at Kunming airport) before flying home…

KL tunggu kami pulang….
