Wind Orchestra 2014: The Preliminary Round

My dotter has been very busy practising for this event...

This year, the preliminary round is held at the ground of her own school this week and she is super excited about it. 24 schools took part in this event and only 5 top schools will be chosen to perform during the final round. Hmm, last year 10 schools were selected to the final. So I guess it's gonna be tougher this year...

At first, I wanted to see her and the TKC Wind Orchestra team performing on the stage today... But due to workload at the office, I could not make it :(

But thanks god... A dear friend of mine went to see the performance and share some pics with me :D

The kids were on paper (Utusan Malaysia, Saturday, 15/3/14) for doing the biggest flash mob for Students Orchestra Performance done on 14/3/14... And were recorded in Malaysian Book of Record... How awesome is that?! ;))

Visiting my Northern KiDDo

Mama cannot tahan rindu his boy on the North... Almost everyday waited for him to call (he is allowed to keep a basic phone - no smart phone allowed). I can sense from his voice that he is homesick... but he control macho laa.... boy meh... cannot cry laa... haha! Then keep asking if we can come and visit him this weekend... told him to SMS his ayah... and this is what he wrote :

"AYAH BOLEH TAK DTG SABTU NI SBB TAK ADA AKTIVITI HARI TU. KALAU FREE DTG LAH TAPI KALAU BUSY TAK PER TAPI KALAU BOLEH VISIT LAH. PLS REPLY BEFORE 11PM AND INSYAALLAH IZZAT CALL MAMA PUKUL 12 MLM. "

Hmmm.... nak suruh datang... tapi macam control macho kan? haha :D  Anyway, mama sorang ni kesian and rindu kat Izzat... asyik teringat jer kat dia over the weekend sebab tahu dia homesick... ngaji pun nangis sebab teringat kat anak ;'((. And I guess ayah oso cannot tahan tenguk mama cengitu and finally agree to go visit our Northern kiddo this weekend ;)

Brought him to Penang via the Penang 2nd bridge... 

Tak jalan ke mana pun at Penang... Ronda2 jer.. Somehow tersalah masuk ke exit Penang Bridge (the 1st one) and ended up having our lunch kat Prai jer haha :D 

Sent him back to his school around 3pm. I could sensed that he was upset... 'sekejap sangat dapat jumpa mama ngan ayah'... but at the same time he understood that mama and ayah have to work tomorrow. So dengan berat hati kami meninggalkan Izzat di Pulau Pinang.... hukss :(( We'll see you again in 2 weeks time ya sayang.... can't wait!

Next week, I guess turn to visit our Southern KiDDo pulak... heee :) Utara-selatan la jawab nya mama ngan ayah ni travel tahun ni... huhuhu. 

Empty nest :((

The house is too quiet :(( Yeap... Mama telah dilanda 'empty nest syndrome' :'((

Everthing in the house reminds me of the kids... And at the moment esp Izzat :(( 

When I came home early on Friday eve, I kept looking at the door expecting him to give salam coming back from school. His books and things are everywhere in the house. Everything in the house reminds me of him... Every single thing! :(( The sofa in front of TV pun dah bau dia.. Huhu :'(( 

When I entered his room last night, I saw this on the computer table...

His nametag from smkbs that he received on the day he got the MRSM offer...

I miss you my boy... Terribly :'(( It's weird not having you at home as you were always there with me at home ;(( I pray that you'll be happy in your new school Izzat. Semoga Izzat akan cemerlang dunia dan akhirat ❤️

Helllooo MRSM Transkrian! ;)

When I first found out Izzat was offered to MRSM Transkrian (2nd intake), my first reaction was... Where on earth is that??? An officemate quickly suggested me to google and yeah.... Baru la ku tahu... Di Nibong Tebal, Pulau Pinang rupanya. Next, I googled the distance of that place from my home... Google Map answered my curiosity... It's about 2 hours and 45mins. Hmmm... Not so bad lah. I was pretty sure Izzat would be excited with this offer but the question is... Would he mind the distance? Coz mama and ayah could not afford to visit him often... Well, not as often as mama go to Bandar Enstek la kan.. Huhu... Jauh tu Izzat...

So when I showed him the offer letter,his  first reaction was 'Ma?? Camana boleh dapat?? Mama guna orang dalam ke?' Pffffttttt... Yeah right! Memang pun... Mama's orang dalam' is Allah swt jer :P Mama doa yang terbaik utk Izzat... So insyaAllah, ini lah yg terbaik. He was so excited, alhamdulillah... Tuan badan dah setuju... Mama and ayah tawakal jer...

Preparation was express... Only one week to be exact! And Mr Hubby is away in Germany (I smsed him the good news and he was excited as well!)... Mama dgn Izzat jer la yg prepare everything. Lagi excited when we found out my nephew, Adi Danial who was studying in SBPi Rawang was also offered to MRSM Kuala Kubu... Wan Rabtah la paling excited... Dua cucu ditawarkan ke MRSM!

So yesterday, 5th of March 2014, was Izzat's registration and 1st day in MRSM Transkrian :)

The registration was brief.. About 23 students as 2nd intake - 3 forth formers and the rest are 1st formers.

 

Shopping at maktab's coop.. Beli baju batik, tshirt outing, cadar, selimut, tie and car stickers... With the help of Adib, a forth former senior... What a nice chap!

I like the idea of MRSM homeroom... Macam homey sket bunyi compared to  the sound of typical 'dorm' :D There are 4 beds in each room. And a few of them will be sharing a 'homeroom teacher' that would be their 'mentor' cum father-figure at the maktab. And I was quite impressed on how clean their homeroom was! The building may be old... but it's clean... alhamdulillah..

Mama tolong susun locker. The locker is a bit different from TKC's locker in design. Tak ada laci pun... But never mind... at least the lockers are all new... Alhamdulillah ;))

Next, a brief taklimat by the pengetua, counsellor and head of warden on the rules of the maktab...

The pengetua - En Ismail Deraman. Used to be MRSM Tun Ghaffar Baba, Jasin Timbalan Pengetua. Was told by Adib, the boy who helped us with Izzat's registration that he is a good pengetua... selalu turun padang (his exact word!). Was also told by Johan (my nephew who was at MRSM TGB a few years back), berkaliber orangnya En Ismail ni... Good to hear that!

During the taklimat we were told that the kids would be wearing 'baju eksekutif' on every Tuesday... and 'eksekutif' meaning baju orang pegi opis :D  Jenuh le pulak kami meronda pekan Parit Buntar (yes, that's the nearest town) nak cari baju 'eksekutif' for Izzat. Tak jumpa his saiz okay... Izzat kan comel jer saiz nya.. Huhu. Finally jumpa la satu yg 'boleh la diterima' saiz nya. Izzat doesn't like pit sbb lengan nya a bit long on him... But that's the best we could find on this short notice. We also went to Maybank Parit Buntar to make an ATM card for his Yippie Account - menyesal tak buat awal2 :(( 

Well, left him there in MRSM Transkrian, Nibong Tebal at around 4pm. Study smart Izzat. Mama will definitely miss her one and only son... Bongsu lak tu.. Hukss!!!  :'(( May Allah protect him always. Mama akan terus doakan yg terbaik utk Izzat ya ❤

P/S - x de dah orang nak gaduh ngan mama kat rumah.. Sedih... huk huk :'(( Okay... separation anxiety overload!! :P

2012 - Raya with my family at my eldest sis house in Sri Damansara. Iya you... Raya kat Kay Ell le kami ni... huhu! Al maklum la kami ni dah tak de kampung... sob sob :((

2011 - Among my fave raya pics in Melaka... posing at an old Melaka house in Bandar Merlimau. The first raya ever kami bersepakat pakai kaler yang sedondon... we went GREEN :)

2009 - The double celebration raya in Melaka! 1st Syawal and our 12th anniversary celebration!

2008 raya was a quiet one with our mom at our home in Lucky Hill before we go back to Malacca.

2006 -  the MOST UNFORGETTABLE raya EVER!! Last raya we celebrated at our beloved home in Kuala Pilah before the house kena roboh... :'(( Everyone was there except my sister, Ruby and her family. It was awesome! Unforgettable! Really miss the old house.... :'((

The bottom pic is another fave pic of mine... seronok tenguk ragam the kids in the pic. Izzat was not in the pic sebab merajuk (can't remember what was the reason dia merajuk.. tapi mmg spoil betul lah sebab everyone was in the pic except him... aishhh!!)

2004 - at Kuala Pilah... Love the top pic! Lawak tenguk gaya Danial and Adam (they were looking at each other and giving 'you wanna fight' look.. Haha!). And the girls are sooo comel esp Sara ;))

2003 - The first raya after we came back from Hajj. Our raya baju sedondon gitu... Kain satin cotton from Jedah. And when we visited my aunt at Kuala Pilah, she asked 'berapa kodi kain beli ni?' Lol!! :'D

2002 - Izzat's first raya and wearing his first baju melayu... Comel overload!!! ❤

2001 - I was pregnant of Izzat. On first Syawal I got false contraction.. Felt the pain every 5 mins.. Thought it was for real.. Bergegas la mr hubby menghantar ke Mahkota Hospital di Bandar Melaka... The nurse asked if we'd like to induce... And I said no... And bertahan la saya dgn false contraction once in a while until a week later, that is 1/1/02... Baru Izzat was born ;))

2000 - Double Celebration - 1st Syawal and Izzaty's first birthday! Was wearing her first baju kurung! She was born in Ramadhan 1999 so this was her 2nd Raya ;))

1999 - beraya dalam pantang u all after giving birth to Izzaty... and I refused to share the pic walaupun the pic is in the photobook hahahha! :D
