Since we would only be spending 2 days here in Cusco, we left our rented apartment early in the morning and began the day by joining the locals at their famous wet market, Mecrado Central de San Pedro where the locals shop their groceries and necessities... macam2 ada sini... really interesting to watch!
When we reached the market, most of the shops were not opened yet.
Orang pun tak ramai lagi... so we had fun walking around in the market sambil cuci2 mata.
The souvenirs area...
Was contemplating if I should buy one of these panchos...
I posted this pic in my IG story and asked friends...
Majority answered yes, but one... yes, only one said NO... and that is my good old friend, Pejoy Lol!
When asked why not... he said 'sbb last2 it will be inside lemari together with kain2 baik or baju2 yang x guna lol' Hahahaha... he got a point there! You know me too well Pejoi! :D
So NOPE, tak jadi beli la. Lol!
Jom cuci mata at the groceries area...
Quinoa is so famous and cheap here. Really tempted to buy and brought back to Malaysia.
Tapi kenangkan balik nanti nak transit kat NYC lagi.... ish ish, payah la kan...
Kastam kat NYC airports sangat2 strict. So yeah, tak beli juga Lol!
and cheese...
Cantik kan cheese ni? :D
Coca leaves are every where too...
Siap ada Coca candy okay... lol!
Now, let's see what we can find in the wet market area...
Daging Llama - ada brani makan?
Llama fetus - gross ek?
Was told this is sold for medicinal purposes.
Fruits! Macam2 fruits ada... yang tak pernah tenguk pun banyak...
A few rows of fruit juice stall... survey dulu, jap lagi kita try.
Outside the market...

Buenos dias from us in Cusco!
We had booked ourselves to join a free walking tour at 10am - oh well, not really free la... we just need to pay tips to the guide - reasonable right? So, let's try this...
While waiting for our tour guide and the other team members, we lepak2 here at the park sambil ambil angin pagi cuci mata...
Here comes our tour guide - Richard
Thanks to Richard, we learned a lot about history and facts on Cusco and Peru today.
Cusco is indeed a fascinating city that was the capital of the Inca Empire. This city is a Unesco World Heritage site and is one of Peru's most visited cities as it is the largest and nearest to the famous Machu Pichu. So, basically today is all about Inca's history...
Went to the wet market again with the walking tour group... now we know the names of the weird looking fruits :D
Among the new names of fruits we learned today - Cillimoya, Granadia, Pakai, Maracuya, Lukuma - tu je yang ingat... coz I saved these names in my phone Lol!
After the market excursion, the group moved to a few historical places around the City of Cusco.
Look at those stones - those which looks nice and precisely carved stones are Incan architecture...
Those yang tak sama size tu are NOT - they are called 'Inca-pable architecture' - Lol!
See this stone - very precisely carved, right? That's a sample of Incan architecture.
Selfie sikit lah dengan batu2 'Incan architecture' ni Lol!
The walking tour ended here around noon.
Went back to our apartment to refresh ourselves and solat jamak/qasar Zuhur and Asar.
Since this was our last day in Cusco, right after solat, off we go to explore the city again...
An antique tram in the city of Cusco.
The plan is to visit Cristo Blanco - a statue of Jesus Christ (a smaller version of the one in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) which is located on a hill and can be seen across the city. But on the way up, we stopped by at a vegan restaurant for lunch.
Prasada The Vegan Temple - a cozy vegan restaurant. The food is so yummeh!!! And nice ambiance too!
Tacu Tacu - Peruvian style fried rice and beans with plantain and tomato salad with coriander.
Yummilicious!!!!
Lomo Saitado - customised menu specially for us which I can't remember the exact ingredients except tomato and fried banana - yummmm!!
Manggo + Passion fruit + Ginger drink - pun yummmm!!!
Frankly speaking, we had difficulties finding halal food here in Cusco. So we basically survived in Peru in general by going vegetarian haha.
This statue is nothing compared to the awesome view of City of Cusco from above the hill...
When I posted these pics in my IG, a friend commented :
'Kepadatan tinggi tapi macam samaje saiz bangunannya...'
You have sharp eyes Shinaz. That is so true.
Actually Cusco is under UNESCO protection, so the houses built in this city cannot be more than 2 storeys. Even the colour of house and balconies ada warna2 tertentu... which I can't remember.
Those are facts that I learned today during our group walking tour history lesson :)
Okaylah... last pics before leaving this place.
Asked our cab driver to drop us at the Mercado Central de San Pedro market again (3rd time in a day datang market ni Lol!).
Mission : Beli souvenirs.... and
Trying the famous fruit juice
Ordered Lucuma + Manggo Juice - as recommended by Richard, our local guide this morning.
Punya lah payah nak communicate with the juice stall owner....
Lucky us, there was this nice Japanese gentleman sitting next to us who can speak Spanish...
He helped us to translate our order Lol!
This is Peruvian local fruit - Lucuma
Then we dropped by at a local tourist agent - to book our transportation to go to Ollantaytambo the next morning. Sharing the same shop with the tourist agent was this ice-cream stall.
So while Mr Hubby sibuk memilih packages for our next day trip, here I was sibuk memilih nak makan which ice-cream... haha!
My final choice - Maracuya (Pervian passion fruit) and manggo ice-cream.
Simply yummilicious!!!
That's it. End of Day 2 in Cusco.
