It's Aidil Adha!! This was the 2nd time we celebrated Aidil Adha abroad. Last year in Syria... and this year in Russia. Hopefully lepas ni tak de lagi lah! We first planned to go for Eid prayer at St Petersburg mosque... but we were told that the mosque would be very, very crowded. We were late anyway (Syazwan lambat... agaknya lambat bangun kot... huhu!). By the time we reached the mosque, solat raya pun dah habis... orang melempah ruah sampai ke luar masjid!! It was really cold, but still the Moslems join berjemaah dari luar masjid. Sangat2 mengagumkan! Kami cuma sempat join berdoa dari seberang jalan masjid saja. Amazing to see how many moslems are in St Petersburg... tak sangka ya!

St Petersburg mosque was full with Moslem performing solat sunat Aidil Adha.

The mosque was too full for us to enter..... so we just stayed across the road.

Meng'amin'kan doa in the cold... dari seberang jalan aje...

The Trinity Bridge - crossing the Neva from Trinity Square - near the mosque.
Near the mosque is Peter and Paul Fortress. In the cold weather... we explored Peter and Paul Fortress. The founding of the Peter and Paul Fortress on 27th May 1703, on the orders of Peter the Great, is considered to mark the founding of the city.

St Peter's Gate - the entrance to the fortress.

The Ramanov double eagle with an emblem of St George and the dragon.

Izzaty posing with Catheral of SS Peter and Paul at the back.
Patung kepala kecik ni menurut one of the students we met, Nazrin, is the statue of Peter the Great. It was a present from German. Dulu patung ni was located at other place. But disebabkan oleh ukiran dan skala dia tak accurate. So, dipindahkan ke sini...

Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul - now became the last resting place of the late tsars of Russia.

At the courtyard of the Artillery Museum - another pitstop for Amazing Race :D

Family pic - in front of the Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul

Another family pic - at the Neva River

The remains of the last Romanov tsar, Nicholas II (who was arrested and later taken with his family to Yakaterinburg where they were killed) and his wife and children, and the servants that died with them were reburied in this chapel by the entrance to the cathedral. Once, they said one of his daughters, Annastasia escaped and were not killed. But using DNA test, they had proven that one of the bones found were Annastasia's - wallahualam. What a tragedy :(

Walking along the Neva River. It was very windy and cold!

This boy kept complaining on how cold the weather was! :P

The grand Hermitage and the golden dome of St Isaac's Cathedral can be seen from here - very nice view!

From far we could see the Rostral Columns and the Naval Museum.

This beach is popular and crowded in summer... but definately not a popular place in winter.... sejukk babe!!! Izzaty said she ♥ St Petersburg :)

Tetapi si Izzat wanted to go home - tak suka lah St Petersburg -sejuk sangat! :P

It was indeed very cold... but we enjoyed the amazing view :)

A bunch of thank to Syazwan kerana sudi bawa kami ronda2 St Petersburg :)

The golden dome of St Isaac's Cathedral is one of St Petersburg's iconic building

I dunno if this used to be a real ship... but nowadays, inside the ship is a gym, a restaurant.. and may be more.

The Rostral Columns - used to be lighthouses guiding ships through the busy port of St Petersburg.

One of the Rostral Columns - and one of many points where Amazing Race clue boxes were located :D

Having 'lempeng' for lunch in St Petersburg! :D
Tak sangka ya... orang Russia pun suka makan lempeng! :D

The kids thought the lempeng was delicious! :D
I love the lempeng too ♥

Hubby, Syazwan and lempengs :D

'
Chainaya Loshka ' - the lempeng restaurant :)

Izzat wanted to join the St Petersburg's Zenit team! :D

Church on Spilled Blood at night - beautiful view!

Hubby went for last minute shopping for souvenir, while me and the kids lepak and rehat at our rented apartment and yeap..... packing - it was our last day in St Petersburg :(
That night, we left St Petersburg for Moscow. Syazuan accompanied us by bus to the train station. Our train coach has 4 beds - just nice for the 4 of us :) It's the most comfortable train bed I've ever experienced! Kami tidur bagai dibuai2.... huhu! :) The train left St Petersburg at 10pm.. and reached Moscow at around 6am. Was so excited to explore Moscow!! :)

Infront of Cathedral of Our Lady Kazan... waiting for a bus to go to train station.

St Petersburg's Moskovskiy Railway Station..
Taking a train from St Petersburg to Moscow
Thanks Syazwan hantar kami ke train station... :)

Train to Mockba @ Moscow - yeap that's our train!

This cabin is so comfy! The bed was even better than the one we tried from Munich to Amsterdam before! :)

2nd experience for the kids to sleep in a train :)

Lena tidur dibuai alunan keretapi... hik hik! :D
