Exploring Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan

Today, I'd like to write a post on our family trip to India back in 2016. On our way back home, we made a detour to Jaipur, India.
I had been wanting to go to India for ages you see. But years ago, my ex boss, En Nazrin and his wife came back from India and got himself warded for a few days due to food poisoning... adoi, pastu nervous lah pulak nak pi India kan... huhu! But seriously guys, we are talking about India here... the grandiose of Taj Mahal, beauty of Kashmir, glam of Bollywood... I want to see them all haha! So yeah, we finally decided to go to India at the end of 2016 after our trip from Iran. This trip was actually to celebrate Izzaty's completion of SPM cum end of her high school years... a good reason to celebrate right? ;)

Anyway, alhamdulillah... visa was obtained easily without any hassle (serious panjang doh beratur for urusan visa - walau pun sampai pepagi buta haha!) And seriously, India is amazing!!! Love, love, love the place and the food!!! Just FYI, sepanjang trip kami di India, we paid a tourist guide cum driver to accompany us to those places of tourist attractions.

The first place in India we visited is Jaipur - capital of Rajasthan, also known as the Pink City. I just LOVE journeying through this beautiful city of Jaipur!! So many things to see and explore! We actually booked a room at a place called Khandela Haveli Royal Hotel. It's like a huge house like those you watched in Hindustani movie (haha!) with lots of rooms for rent. I lost most of my pictures taken during this trip with my old iphone when it suddenly went kong after I came back from this trip. So, am uploading some pics (those that I managed to backup) here for memory ;)

In front of Hawa Mahal aka Palace of the wind.
Made of red and pink sandstone, Hawa Mahal is one of Jaipur's iconic palaces - most distinctive landmark, a stunning example of local architecture.
The most shocking and interesting fact about Hawa Mahal is that this five-stories building has no foundation and considered as the world's tallest building without any foundation.

Jaipur City Palace.
The City Palace is a building that has preserved the history of this city - another icon of grandeur of Jaipur. The Maharaja along with his family lives in the palace, partly converted to a public museum. The museum displays one of the largest silver vessels in the world, a collection of royal swords and guns, dresses, amory, royal coronation chamber and portraits, ect. I lost most of the pics I took here with my kong iphone sob sob. So I don't have many pictures to share here.

On our 2nd day in Jaipur, yours truly terseliuh masa turun tangga kat hotel. Adoiii... malang tak berbau kan... I injured my ankle pulak huhuu.
But yeah, life goes on. The journey to explore Jaipur continue... today, we were gonna explore more beautiful places in Jaipur.

Jal Mahal, the Water Palace.
Jal Mahal is a palace in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake of Jaipur City - another iconic building to see in Jaipur, another beautiful piece of local architecture and traditions.

Amber Palace - one of my favourite places in Jaipur. UNESCO has listed Amber Palace as one of the world heritage site.
To go up on the hill, for the first time ever, I rode on an elephant! Kesian nya elephant ni... huhuuu. I know we should avoid forcing animals like this... but my leg was in pain, lega la sikit if I could ride the elephant to go up the hill.... ampun ya elephant... makcik ni dah la berat... huhuuuu.
The kids obviously enjoyed the elephant ride. Tapi sakit bontot kata depa.. huhu.
Next time, kita tak naik dah okay...

This place is huge!! Everything about this palace is just amazing that you need to have time to observe and appreciate everything! The building, the wall, scenery around this palace... just amazing!!!
Just look at the wall! The wall paintings were done from organic colours derived from fruits and veges - and as you can see, they are well preserved!

Kaki ku sakit.. but ku gagahi juga memanjat tangga tu you alls... huhu!

The view from the mountains is awesome!

Exploring this huge place - kaki dah start bengkak masa ni... huhu!

Somehow, pictures taken at Amber Fort was ada backup before my phone went kong. So banyak lah dapat upload in this post.

We later went shopping at the local markets. Kedai sari ( oh yes, memborong la sikit kain sari haha!), kedai carpet (idok le beli... cuci mata je), silver and gold shop (ni ikut driver lah singgah... tapi ada orang tu berkenan pulak nak beli jade ring - not me ya! So not me haha!), local bazaars  (beli lah kurta untuk izzat - katanya nak pakai masa gi Taj Mahal nanti and more kain sari as souvenirs).

Our lunch
Okay.... food wise, we avoid street food. Tak berani doh! We would eat at a proper, clean, halal restaurant.... and oh my... the food was heavenly delicious!!! Can taste the Indian herbs, ect... man! so yummilicious!!! We really enjoyed the Indian local food!

After lunch, back to our hotel, but singgah pharmacy jap to buy all these...
Pain killer, ankle guard and a cream to apply on my injured ankle.
Murah je all these... India mmg murah la semua benda... masyaAllah...

In the evening, Hubby went out to explore more of Jaipur and buys some more souvenirs... but I choose to rest in our room. The pain killer, the cream and ankle guard helped a lot.
I think I ate the pain killer every 5 hours kot... punya lah desperate to get better as the next day, we were going to Taj Mahal. Harus lah nak cepat baik kan.... huhuuu...
