I was told (again recommended by my Kuching-based friend, Pean and some other FB friends) to find 'Mayban Finance' branch in Jalan Satok. The restaurant is located right beside the Mayban Finance branch. Was told that the restaurant sells the best mee sapi and mee kolok!! The problem was there is no more Mayban Finance now... as an ex Mayban Finance staff I am fully aware that all Mayban Finance building has been converted to Maybank instead... and Pean told me there are 3 Maybank branches at Jalan Satok... aiyooo! So we had to lookout for the signboard of "Perbankan Automobil" at that particular branch! :) Alhamdulillah, we had no trouble finding the right Maybank :)
True enough.... mee kolok Haji Salleh sangat2 sedap!!!
Preparation of mee kolok at that restaurant...
The yummiest mee kolok in Kuching... so I was told!
Yours truly loving the yummy mee kolok!! :) The kids are not that adventurous... nasi lemak jer... huh! Kat Malaya pun ada nasi lemak! :P The price is very, very cheap! Highly recommended to eat here okay! :)
What's special about this Pasar Sariken? Macam2 ada!! :) Ala2 Bukit Kayu Hitam la gitu... :) Lots of things from Indon selling here at a very cheap price :) Mari cuci2 mata tenguk apa ada di Pasar Sariken...
Barang2 basahan dan buah-buahan yang fresh! :)
Juga ada baju2/kain2 batik or sulaman dari Indon yang tidak kurang menarik nya! Those that I bought in Bandung/Jakarta can be found here... at about the same price!! :) Cuma mungkin kurang pilihan...
Telekung pun ada...
Fake jerseys and sport shirts pun ada.... Izzat sangat gumbira dapat memilih baju pasukan favouritenya! :)
Awalnya, kami nak beli tikar ni... tapi x jadik! huhu!
Instead... we bought tikar sarawak! :) Borong 2 bawak balik! One for us... another one kiriman a colleague, Che Tone :)
Tikar yang cantik terbentang tu sekarang sudah terbentang indah di rumah Che Tone :)
Lagi cuci mata...
Kalau lapar... ada jer warung2 yang mejual makanan halal di sini... :)
But we just alas perut dengan kerepek2 ni....
Why? Sebab kami nak makan besar! haha! :) On the way home, we stopped by at Chillipeppers Restaurant which is located below the Liwah Hotel and a walking distance from Grand Continental Hotel (again... atas recommendation Pean). The restaurant is owned by a Chinese Muslim. The environment in this restaurant is quite nice.... and the price is quite reasonable :)
What we ate here??
Lapar sangat... Yours truly chose to eat nasi goreng nenas...
Hubby's nasi ayam.... (lupa exact name!)
Kids opt for nasi ayam penyet
After lunch, we went jalan2 at Riverfront. Just strolled along the river and later shop kuih cincin at the shop lots in front of the Riverfront :)
China Town near the Riverfront
Lepak2 @ Riverfront :)
Astana - view dari seberang sungai...
Boleh ke seberang sungai naik boat.... murah ajer price nya...
Can go for cruise, kalau nak... but we did not...
♥ ♥ ♥
Shopping kuih Cincin... this one is for Tda's daughter! :)
That night, again kami ke Jalan Satok... this time around to visit the famous Pasar Minggu or Weekend Market in Kuching :) Rugi tak singgah sini! Was told that the market is more meriah in the late afternoons and evenings on Saturday and mid-Sunday morning. Macam2 dijual di sini! :)
Sunset ~ View from our room... subhanAllah... :)
Night market from the jejantas we were using...
