Cape Town Signal Hill - Africa Day1 Pt2

From Table Mountain, the taxi brought us to Signal Hill. Awesome view all the way… subhanallah...

Signal Hill was named for its original use that is the practice of flying signal flags to communicate with ships sailing at the area, and later for the daily firing of the famous Noon Gun. The Noon Gun has been a historic time signal in Cape Town since 1816. There were two guns (well, they were cannon really :P) - the main gun and a back-up one. The guns were brought to Cape Town by the British in their invasion of August 1795. They were originally housed at the Imhoff Battery, near the Castle of Good Hope (a beautiful place that I'll share with you later) and served as time signals for ships anchored in the harbour. Now, the guns are located in Signal Hill, where they continued Cape Town's oldest ongoing tradition. They fire every day at 12 noon sharp, except on Sundays and public holidays - so I was told. Didn't get the chance to hear the loud sound of the gun when I was there though…

View of Table Mountain at Signal Hill. Such a beautiful place here…

We kinda like this yellow frame located at the Signal Hill which overlook the view of Table Mountain. It's so cool! It's like National Geographic frame eh?
This pic is kinda cool… I always love taking pics with the locals.
I wanted to join in the pic… tapi malu sebab semua kaum adam… huhu.
Jadi photographer pun jadik lah :P

The taxi later sent us back to the hotel. Along the way, I could not resist snapping pics of awesome views….

Before going back to our hotel, we went out hunting for food first… lapaq wehhh!! Time for lunch!
We decided to eat here… Eastern Food Bazaar.
Variety of halal food here. There are quite a big bunch of Muslim communities in Cape Town.
So halal food mmg senang dapat, alhamdulillah :)

 We chose to eat this…
 Garlic nan bread with beryani rice (haha yeah… here oso got beryani rice!)

Dah kenyang, then we went back to our hotel to rest and perform jamak & qasar Dzuhur and Asar prayers.

Our day 2 adventure in Cape Town does not stop here. After prayers, we went out again. This time, we decided to explore the Cape Town City on foot ;) Will continue about adventure of Day 1 later…
* to be continued *
