Livingstone, Zambia - Africa Day6

On day 6 in Africa, we explored the  Livingstone town in Zambia :)
Pleasant weather in the morning in our hotel.

our room 3rd from left.

At the entrance of the hotel

Livingstone town was the original capital of Southern Province of Zambia. It is located at the border to Zimbabwe on the other side of the Victoria Falls. The town is named after David Livingstone, the British explorer who was the first European to explore the area.

Exploring the Livingstone city in the hot weather of Zambia!

It was a public holiday -  National Youth Day or something and there was a parade going on in the city...
An exciting experience to see the youth of Zambia parading for this event ;)

The first place we visited were the Livingstone museum.

Cameras were not allowed in the museum. But other than the fact, it was the oldest museum in Zambia, there is nothing much that interest me in the museum (sorry!).

The exploration of Livingstone city continue after the trip to museum ended...
So hot! And I forgot to wear my sun block :P

The highlight of the day is the Mukuni Park Curio Market.
The Mukuni Park Curio market is in the centre of the tourist capital, where you can shop for gifts and souvenirs from Zambia.

Colourful African wax prints are common materials for clothing in Africa, especially West Africa.
Very nice! Striking colours! It's like our kain batik here in Malaysia laa...

This lady who was selling African wax prints was sporting enough to join me for selfie :D

These two guys really enjoyed looking the the African arts and crafts

Yours truly on the other hand, enjoyed feasting my eyes looking at the local people doing their daily chores here in the market...
Mommy busy selling crafts while carrying her child

And this lady is busy sewing  bags...
Colourful bags ready for sale ;)

Very colourful clothes! Fancy one?
Naaa... I didn't buy any... haha!

The market isn't so big... so boleh round beberapa kali... no sweat ;)

Lots of interesting arts sold here...
Hubby bought this one for his little bro...

After spending an hour at the market. We got a taxi back to our hotel and later straight to the airport.
But before that... we stopped here...
The jaame mosque of Livingstone..

Alhamdulillah... ada juga masjid di bumi Zambia ni. Which means, the Islamic community here in Zambia is quite strong, alhamdulilah...

Inside the mosque...

With a fellow traveller who also dropped by at the mosque...

The madrasah part of the mosque where they learn to read the Quran and attend fardu ain clases.

We would love to stay longer, but we had a plane to catch. So next, off we go to the hotel to pick up our luggage and went straight to the airport...

Bye Bye Zambia... Helloooo again Cape Town! :D

Zambia money as souvenirs :D

We reached Cape Town late evening and get our rented car at the Cape Town airport and drive straight to our hotel - Cape Town  Lodge Hotel.

Ate maggie for dinner as we were too tired to go out hunting for food :D
(again! haha! what to do... it's already late and we were not sure it's safe to go out at those hour)
Had an early night as we have another exciting day waiting for us the next day :D

*to be continued*
