Hola Barcelona! *Day1*

Hola! ;)) Yes we went to Barcelona! It wasn't my first time in Spain, but it was my first time in Barcelona :) Barcelona is awesomely packed with interesting sights and unique architecture which amazed me so much! Too bad we only spent 2 full days here in Barcelona as we had to catch our flight to the next destination on early 3rd morning. Well, let's just let the pics tell the stories of our journey ya... (yeah, am too lazy at the moment to type or write much... hence the late post! hehe!)

Our flight (Qatar Airlines) from KL (via Doha) stopped at Paris where we slept one night at one of the hotels at the Charles De Gaulle Airport (hotel Novotel). Early next morning, we caught a flight (Easyjet Airlines) to Barcelona.

Hola Barcelona!! :)) So excited to step our feet in this beautiful city!
At the airport

From airport, we took the aerobus to go to Las Rambla area.

Las Rambla is the most famous street in Barcelona. Alive at all hours of the day and night, the wide boulevard connects the Plaça de Catalunya, a busy square, with the Columbus Monument and the city's waterfront... I just love this place so much! Hubby booked an apartment  located somewhere here for our accommodation in Barcelona... which was so awesome! :)
Walking along Las Rambla Street while searching for our rented apartment.

Found the place quite easily...

And the place is cozy too! Me loving it!!! :))
Cozy rest area :)

Cozy kitchen :)

Parents bedroom :)

And kids' bedroom :)

After putting our luggage in our rented apartment, we decided to ronda2 makan angin :)) Our first destination was Port Vell - now known as Rambla de Mar or Rambla of the Sea. This place is located at the southern end of the Ramblas Street.
The Christopher Columbus Monument. This monument was constructed for the Exposición Universal de Barcelona (1888) in honor to Columbus first voyage to the America.

Mommy and daughter - vaining? hihiiiii :D

We later walked on a wooden walkway that lead us to Maremàgnum, a complex with shops, restaurants, movie theaters and a large aquarium.

We dropped by at Starbuck @ Maremàgnum
Sejuk2 ni mmg sedap dapat minum hot chocs/coffee :)

Last pic @ Maremàgnum

After warming ourselves at the Starbuck, we walked back to our apartment for lunch and prayers. Later, we walked to The Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria (famously known as La Boqueria) which is just a few mins walk from our apartment. La Boqueria  is a large public market located at Las Rambla and famous as one of the city's foremost tourist landmarks.
The entrance

There were many things that fascinated me in this market and let's just enjoy some of the pics that we managed to snap inside the market...
So many kind of your chocs... anything you fancy?

What big eyes you have for a candy! :D

Seafood anyone? No problem... variety to choose here... ;)

Okay.. I have to confess... baru ku tahu nama buah naga in English... hahaha! And if you read carefully... this fruit is actually imported from RAWANG, SELANGOR, MALAYSIA.... wahh, sesungguhnya saya berbangga menjadi warga Rawang... kih kih :D

And there's this shop (or museum??)  located right in front of the  La Boqueria market... -_-

After leaving the market, we took a train to go to the streets of Eixample, to visit the famous Sagrada Familia.
My kids were fascinated by this huge vending machine at the train station :)

And here we are at Sagrada Familia :)

Sagrada Familia is a church that was was designed by the famous architect, Antoni Gaudi.
This church which is Antoni Gaudí's unfinished masterpiece, begun in 1882, is one of Barcelona's most popular tourist attractions. Yes it is unfinished! And Antoni Gaudi is already dead! (He is buried inside the church!). It is also the most unconventional church in Europe. Construction on this church will continue for at least another decade, but it has already become Barcelona's most important landmark.
