My first visit to Sweden - 2018

When hubby planned our trip to Iceland (our main destination) in 2018, we planned to visit to Switzerland and Sweden as well. I was so excited as this is my first visit ever in Sweden... and I automatically thought about one of my TKC8387 sisters - Norliza Abdul Razak aka Nolong :)) Told her that I am coming to Sweden, and of coz we plan to meet ;) This is not my first time meeting her oversea. You see... Nolong's hubby ( a Swedish) works for Ericson and often assigned to work in foreign countries. He once was assigned to Malaysia where he met Nolong. In November 2007, I visited Nolong when she and her family was in Egypt... seronok juga ada kawan dok oversea ni kan... hehe.

Okay anyway, this trip, kami pergi berenam - Me and Hubby, Na and hubby and our 2 bachelor friends - Abang Yusof and Adanan.

Okay lah... since this is a backdated posting, I think I'm gonna put lotsa pics and less story (dah lupa dah pun nak story apa huhu)... enjoy the pic ;)

Arrival at the Stockholm Arlanda Airport

Pusing2 bandar Stockholm

Boat trip - one of the best way to to experience the beautiful city of Stockholm. Spectacular view!

Getting ourselves lost in streets at Gamla Stan or the Old Town of Stockholm.

We later checked-in into our rented Air-BnB apartment which is  located in the middle of Gamla Stan.
A very strategic location indeed as I seriously fall in love with Gamla Stan - totally charmed by this old town of Stockholm with cobbled streets, alleyways, rust-coloured buildings with lots of meeting squares... meriah and so many things to see here! Absolutely enjoyed this area of Stockholm!

That night, we had dinner at Nolong's house. Went to her place by train and later had good walk to her beautiful home <3
Hi again Nolong!!! I miss you <3 ;)
Last met her earlier that year when she made a short trip back to Malaysia.
When I visited her in Egypt... macam2 dia kirim - daun kari, daun kunyit, pandan, ect, ect....
This time around sebab baru je balik Malaysia, stock byk lagi katanya haha...
So she just kirim serunding daging - which I minta tolong Adanan bought from Kota Bharu.

'Selama Datang' - the 'T' is missing.. prepared by Nolong's 2 beautiful girls - Sarah and Hannah!!
Terharu Aunty Runi with this warm welcome <3
Nolong's eldest - Adam was not around - ada activity katanya.

Food was yummilicious! Thanks Long.. ada baked salmon (Swedish famous dish) and a few others... kenyang giler... :D

Nolong's hubby, Jonas is so friendly...

Thanks guys for the warm welcome and hospitality... :D

Next day, pagi2 lagi kami dah keluar... explored the area around Gamla Stan and the city of Stockholm :)

 My sister, Na ;)

We later explored the city of Stolkhome on hop-on-hop-off city bus tour.

Duduk la ataih bas tu... windy... sejuk giler haha!

Inside Stockholm Palace..

We later went to Skansen - Open Air Museum.
Kalau kat Malaysia kita panggil Mini Malaysia la gitu...
The exhibits at Skansen are based on traditional Swedish life, history and culture.
Traditional pharmacist selling herbs medicine

At Skansen's botanical gardeen

We walked around to see some tourist attraction in this area...
Djurgarden area...

We later entered the Vasa Museum
Vasa Museum is home to the impeccably restored 17th century warship, the Vasa, which sank only 100m off the southernmost point of Djurgarden on her maiden voyage in 1628.
The Vasa's biggest fatal design flaw was it was too heavy and its hull was too slender to endure even the slightest swell - led to the sinking of this ship.
It lay preserved in mud for over 300 years and later pulled up along with 12,000 objects in 1961.
So guys, if you are in Stockholm, it's a must to visit The Vasa okay... ;)

Okay... I forgot to tell you guys... when I was in Sweden, I suddenly remember that I do have another friend residing in Stockholm... a long lost friend ITM friend, Norihan. Serious lama tak jumpa... .segan pulak asalnya nak message dia.. but hey, bukan selalu kan sampai sini... so I private messaged her via FB messenger telling her that I am in Stockholm and if she had time for a meet up ;)
And to my surprise, she replied and we excitedly plan to meet that night ;)

Reunited with this good ol' friend form my ITM days... Norihan @ An. Can't remember when I last met her... bertahun2 kot! MasyaAllah... seronoknya tak terkata!!
She came over to our rented Air-BnB apartment and we later went to a small cafe for a chat.. ;)
Thank you An belanja makan... sedapnyaaaa la hai....
Punya la  panjang borak kami.. al maklum lah lama tak jumpa kan...
Lepas balik dari cafe ni, sambung lagi borak depan apartment tu dalam sejuk2 tu... haha.
An is also married to a Swedish man - 2 kids now Latisha and Ashryil.
Seronok bercerita how she send her kids to kelas ngaji and later found out the pronunciation of their Iqra' agak pelik (the ustazah is an African.. memang lah lain pronunciation nya). So she ordered the Iqra' book from Malaysia and teach the kids herself... alhamdulillah... so proud of you dear!
Keep on teaching your kids Iqra' and later Al Quran... <3

Tak puas rasa berborak... huhu. Anyway, that was our last night in Stockholm.
Alhamdulillah... sempat mengeratkan silaturrahim with 2 old friends when I was in Stockholm...
#KenanganTerindahdiSweden

The next morning, we explored Stockholm for the last time before leaving this beautiful city...

That building over there is Stockholm Mosque...
Alhamdulillah... dapat melawat Masjid Stockholm ni...

Then back in Gamla Stan - cari makan and later last minute souvenirs hunting...

These two love birds (my sis and bro in law) dating makan eskrim :)

The travel buddies - 6 of us :)

Okay dah.... time to go to our next destination ;)

Farväl Sweden... Hope to see you again soon ;)
