Day 1: The Bund, Shanghai

Yeap.... we went to China during this school holiday :)) Our flight was on Friday 24th May, 2013, 1:40am. Was on half day leave on Thursday 23rd May... so that I could fetch Izzaty who were yet to pack her thing for this trip! Mr Hubby who was outstation in Kuantan came home in the evening... also yet to pack his thing!! Giler last minute preparation this time! But alhamdulillah... we managed to reach at the airport on time... :))

Shanghai here we come!  Oh by the way, Izzat did not follow us during this trip as he had to go to school for kelas tambahan during the first week of this school holiday. Ohhh.... ada catch nya dia kena tinggal ni tau... bukan senang nak tinggalkan dia! He requested ganti rugi yo! An ipod touch.. or anything that would have the same price as the flight ticket! Oh man... sungguh matereliastik anak ku ini! Hahaha!

After 5 hours journey by flight, alhamdulillah, selamat sampai di Pu Dong Airport, Shanghai. Our next flight to Xi'an would be in the evening... so we have like 5 hours before our next flight. So apa lagi... we decided to jalan2 ke kota Shanghai dulu :))

Taking the Maglev bullet train - Chinese RMB80 (Around Malaysia RM40) for round trip per person.

Inside Maglev train which goes 300km/hr.... oh wow! Awesomeness! :)

The Maglev train stopped at Longyang Road, right beside the Longyang Road metro station where we took a metro train to continue our journey to Shanghai town.

Exit at Nanjing East Road station.... our destination was The Bund :)) Keluar jer dari NanJing East Road station... nampak bangunan Forever21! So hugh! 5 tingkat yo! My teenage girl got so excited :)))

Weather was so nice! Had a lovely time walking and lepaking at the Bund :))

The Bund is a waterfront area located in central Shanghai. It is regarded as the symbol of the city of Shanghai and I'd say the most famous attraction in Shanghai. Had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful scenery here! :)

Looomantik la konon... kih kih! :D

After spending about an hour lepaking at The Bund, we walked to the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Walkway. Nanjing Road is actually Shanghai's main shopping street and regarded as the first business street in China. Lots of famous shops here like GAPS, ZARA, Uniqlo, ect. Lots of activities along the pedestrian as well! Tapi paling syok tenguk nenek2 and atuk2 warga emas menari/berdansa kat area ni... keleesss!!! Sporting betul diorang ni :))

After penat berjalan... perut pun dah lapar. Thanks God, I managed to save the address of one of the Muslim Restaurants  in this area in my phone! The name and address of the restaurant is as below :

Yelixiali Restaurant,
7F, Bailan Shimao International Plaza
819, East Nanjing Road.

Alhamdulillah... we found the restaurant tanpa sebarang masalah :))
Restaurant belum buka... but there was a waiting area yang sangat comfy :)

The menu cover.

Their choice of food are so unique - Chinese food of an entirely different type — Uyghur cuisine. The Uyghurs are a Turkic ethnic group living primarily in the Xinjiang Uyghur Region in the People’s Republic of China. Their food are all halal, insyaAllah :))

Inside the restaurant.... a very cozy ambiance! :))

Our choice of menu (lapar giler hokay!!)

Tak ingat apa nama menu2 ni... but I love the mee yg macam mee goreng tu the most!

Super delicious juice! Apple + orange + lemon I think... nice!

Posing with one of the waiters.

After a good lunch... perut pun dah penuh... off we go to the airport again, to catch our flight to Xi'an.
From Xi'an airport we took bus to Bell Tower for Chinese RMB26. The bus stopped at Melody Hotel which is just a walking distance to our hotel, Citadine Hotel :)

Our room in Citadine hotel, Xi'an. The orange seat that Izzaty was sitting can be converted into a bed.

Will update more later.... ciao for now... :)
