We left Imam Mosque and began walking around Naqsh-e Jahan Square towards Ali Qapu Palace.
Opposite side we could see Sheykh Lutfallah Mosque...
At the back, you can see Ali Qapou Palace
Passed by a few souvenirs shop at Ali Qapou Bazaar...
But here is our next stop...
Built at the very end of 16th century as a residence for Shah Abas I, the majestic 6-storey Ali Qapu Palace also served as a monumental gateway snd entrance to the royal palaces built around Naqsh-e Jahan Square during the Safavid era.
Entrance Fee to Ali Qapou Palace is IRR800,000
When entering the palace through the lofty portal, which is wholly made of stone,we can the upper floor through the staircase on the side.
Oh yeah... lots of staircase climbing need to be done here....
And when we reached at the open terrace, the view was absolutely worth the sweats climbing thr stairs! 😅
View of Naqsh-e Jahan Square and Sheykh Lutfallah Mosque.. just mesmerising!!
It was from this terrace, the Safavid rulers watched the game of polo and horse racing which took place in the Naqsh-e Jahan Square.
With my boy 😍😘
If you look up, you'd see an attractive wooden ceiling with intricate inlay work!
However, this place was under construction on the day we visited... so I did not many pics of this palace... unfortunately 😔
Impressive wall painting!
Didn't stay long here... we later left the palace and crossed over to Sheykh Lutfallah Mosque.
