Day 3 pt3 - Sheykh Lutfallah Mosque 🇮🇷

When I was at Imam Mosque earlier that morning, I thought it was the most beautiful mosque in Isfahan. Then I saw Sheykh Lutfallah Mosque... I was speechless!!! This mosque is smaller.... but if not more beautiful... it's equally beautiful!! I swear! Two beautiful mosques in Naqsh-e Jahan Square!! Oh wow!!! Yousef... no wonder you said your hometown is the most beautiful town in Iran! :D

Sheykh Lutfallah Mosque is the perfect complement to he overwhelming richness of the larger image Imam Mosque.

Built between 1602 and 1619, during the reign of Shah Abbas I, the Sheykh Lutfallah Mosque is dedicated to the ruler's father-in-law, Sheykh Lutfallah, a revered Lebanese scholar of Islam who was invited to Isfahan to oversee the king's mosque (Imam Mosque)  and the madrasah.

This mosque is a bit unusual... it doesn't has a minaret like a usual mosque... and it also does not has any courtyard like the other mosques in Iran. We were informed that it was probably because the mosque was never intended for public use, but rather served as a prayer place for the women of the shah's harem.

Like the Imam Mosque, it has a glorious and lofty entrance portal... arch framed and decorated with stalactite tilework.. but without the minarets of course.

The outer tile-works of the mosque - gorgeous isn't it?
Definitely another amazing Persian architecture!

This mosque is famous for its calligraphist made of tile mosaics which decorated almost all parts of the mosque. Splendid blue , yellow and cream colour tile mosaics - the signature of Iranian architecture!

Entrance fee for Sheykh Lutfallah Mosque is also IRR800,000.

Let's see interior of the mosque...

Beautiful hallway heading towards the prayer hall...

The prayer hall is small... but very, very impressively beautiful!

There are 16 windows around the lower part of the dome.

...Checkout the doom... MasyaAllah! Cantek banget!!

These windows not only circulates fresh air into the mosque, but also just like flood, light brightens the Mebrab of this mosque... subhanallah...

Rays of sunshine ☀️

Subhanallah... diriku terpesona dgn kecantikan masjid ini 😍

There is a winter gallery (Beit-ol-Shata) under the ground level of this mosque with 16 huge pillars.
