From Pena Palace, we took an Uber to go to Castelo dos Mouros aka Moorish Castle.
Moorish Castle (which is not so far from Pena Palace) is a military fort that proved the presence of Islam in Portugal. Located on the top of a hill, it served as a watchtower, protecting the city of Lisbon and its surroundings.
Moorish Castle is mostly in ruins now but the walls were still standing strong... like a mini Great Wall of China! And the views from the top of the walls were spectacular!
We had to do a bit of walking from the Castle entrance gate to the actual entrance where entrance ticket were sold. We did not buy our tickets online earlier (as we were not sure we have the time to visit this place), but alhamdulillah, the queue to buy entrance ticket was not long. Unlike Pena Castle, Moorish Castle has less visitors and not crowded.
Amazing greeny scenery along the way to the main entrance of the castle.
The 'Mini Great Wall of China' as I called it ;)
And amazing view of Sintra from up the wall....
And more climbing to do....
Muka penat.... mongah acik manjek weiii!!!
And Acik finally reached the TOP!!!
Muka puas sebab finally I reached the top of the castle!
And got to see a clearer view of Pena Palace.
Now, time for family pics!
Dah... jom turun! Next destination please! ;)
We had an amazing time! Could not believed I made it to the top of the castle hehe.
The view was amazing!! Worth the thousand stairs up and down!
One last pic, on my way down ;)
