Our 3rd destination on our 4th day in Portugal was Quinta da Regaleira - a magical, romantic architectural complex that comprised of a palace, a chapel with beautiful garden.
According to Mr Google, Quinta da Regaleira is classified as World Heritage by UNESCO and built at the turn of the 20th century.
This place is huge! When we first entered the compound, we do not know where to go 😅
So pusing2 garden dulu... but since we did not have much time (there were so many places to visit in Sintra but we did not much time!), we decided to go straight to the highlight of this place - the infamous Poco Iniciatico aka the Initiation Well. Berpusing juga la nak cari this Initiation Well. This place is After asking around, we managed to find it!
There was already a queue outside the entrance of the Initiation Well. Everyone in the queue was ushered along to keep the line moving. Quite fast la the queue... so we did not have to wait long, alhamdulillah.
Entering the Initiation Well entrance.
And voila.... were were in!
Top of the well.
View of the well from top.
And the queue continue to move steadily to the bottom of the wall...
View from bottom of the well.
To my pleasant surprise, there's a beautiful garden, caves, mysterious tunnels, waterfalls at the bottom of the well. Cantik! The Initiation Well is definitely the highlight of this place and loving it! 🥰🥰🥰
We then exit this place via the garden... tak payah panjat lagi la those steps. It's like one way in and out.
Later, we just continue walking around exploring the huge garden of this place.
We finally reached the main Palace.
One of the doors inside the Palace.
A small chapel located near the Palace.
Dari jauh, nampak so spooky this palace.
We enjoyed exploring this huge place. It was like wondering around in a forest and late end up in a land of fairy tale... eh macam cerita Snow White la pulak lol!
Orait! Next destination on our 4th day in Portugal coming up!
