By the time we left Quinta da Regaleira, it was still early (Maghrib masuk around 8.30pm), so we have a few more hours to go to another place.
We decided to visit Palacio de Monserrate - an iconic private house which was said to be one of the most beautiful architectural and landscape Romantic creations in Portugal.
Again, we took an Uber to this place. At the entrance gate, we were ushered to go to the palace garden first which was huge!!! The garden has so many unique plants and so beautiful. The garden has a few sections like Japanese garden, rose garden, ect... unfortunately by that time, I was already too tired... my leg dah merayu kesakitan that I could not really enjoy the beautiful garden as it deserved to be appreciated.
As I was to tired, I didn't stop to take lots of pictures of the garden.. which I regretted later... huhu.
I kept tracking the distance (there are signboards that show arrows and distance to the palace) to reach the palace, as I was really, really tired and in the rush to get this trip over with... so that I can go back to our AirBnB and rest... dah penat sangat la tu.
By this time, we can see the palace from here. Decided to take shortcut to climb this hill to the palace instead of following the longer walking track.... tapi before tu, lepak jap... penat gak nak panjat bukit tu weiii... haha!
Yours truly yang seriously kepenatan mendaki the hilly area heading to the palace.
Rasa nak merangkak okay.... was seriously dead tired, I tell you!
After those steps up to the top Moroccan Castle, kaki I dah tak larat... huhu.
But, I was pleasantly surprise with the interior of this palace. Hilang rasa penat tu when I see how beautiful this place was!
Palacio de Monserrate is more like a mansion than a palace. The building is not as huge like other palaces... but the interior is just stunning... hence it was called it a palace.
Inside the palace there are various exhibits to see that explain the history of this palace itself or historical items.
This palace is built by a Moroccan architecture for a British man in Portuguese soil.
No wonder it has Moroccan influence in the design! Cantik sangat!
That's a wrap for Day 4 in Portugal. Malam tu walau pun keletihan, kami sempat singgah sat grocery store near our AirBnb to buy Salmon fillets... malam tu masak asam pedas!!
Everyone was super hungry and keletihan... so alhamdulillah... dapat makan nasi, lauk asam pedas sebelum tidur nyenyak malam tu :D
Need to rest well... tomorrow we would be taking a train to Lisbon.
p/s - malam tu tido gantung kaki you.... serious sakit kaki haha!
